** Review by Gayle from Bloggers From Down Under **

Guys......I am at a complete loss here.
I have no idea what to write, what to say.
How do I even start a review when even after putting this novel down, breathing is hard and my very soul has been touched in a way that words just simply seem useless.
But I know that I need to give you guys something......
So here it goes........

Reading both Caged and Uncaged being released for a limited time, I cannot express to you how much these novels impacted me not only psychologically, but emotionally.?

In brief we meet Cage.
Held captive his whole life, all that surrounds him is cold concrete and glass.?
Held prisoner by the one person that Cage trusts unconditionally.?
It's all Cage knows.
The outside world doesn't exist in Cage's life.
No color, no ocean, no blue sky.
Just sterile walls.
Cage will obey to anything, no matter the consequence, he doesn't know any different.
But there is one thing he wants.
No there is one thing he needs.
And he will have it, no matter the cost.
He will have her no matter the cost.

Her name.......Ella.

Welcome to Cage and Ella's world.?
A world so dark that light is simply unobtainable.?
A world of torture that pain becomes normal living.
A world of starvation and thirst that it's hard to think.
A world of depravity.
A world of torment both emotionally and psychologically.?
A world where hope just simply doesn't exist.?

But does it?
Can hope be found?
Can trust be given?
Can freedom be obtained?

Guys these novels simply broke me. My heart ached from beginning to end. The ache I felt took my breath away. At times it left me feeling completely empty, but on the other side of the emptiness it left me feeling at peace with a calmness that I can't describe.
Cage my heart was with you from the very start, and you will stay with me always.
Ella, I have nothing but love for you.
To Clarissa.....Thank you for sharing their story with us.?

And i'll end my review by asking people this....

Have you ever stopped just to look at the color of the grass, stood on it with bare feet?
Have you ever stopped what you were doing to just look up into the sky?
Have you ever just stood in the rain and felt every drop touch your skin?
You should, because you never know when it will be taken from you.

A HUGE 5 star read.

Clarissa Wild went dark again ¨C and I loved it! Though love seems like too weak of a word. With CAGED, she stunned me, rendered me breathless and craving more. Inhaling both books in the duet within one day, I think it¡¯s safe to say I have found a new absolute favorite by her ¨C oh my! Adulting was just not possible while more pages of this book were waiting for me. I adore this woman¡¯s writing ¨C dark or not ¨C, but with this one she hit it right out of the park.
He¡¯s a savage. A barely tamed beast who has been living in a glass cage his whole life, born to obey, to fight, to kill, to win. That¡¯s his whole world. He knows nothing else. Not what¡¯s right or wrong, what boundaries are, how to read or even what it feels like to have the sun kiss your skin. What he knows though is that he wants Ella. That girl with the long white hair that he saw on a picture.

Years ago, Ella lost her voice after tragedy struck and took something much more precious than that. They call it selective muteness ¨C she is only able to talk to the people she trusts, and to this day, this only includes her parents. And then she is taken ¨C abducted and thrown into a glass cage next to the brute of a man that is Cage. Her purpose one only ¨C to copulate with him and breed future fighters for their captor¡

Two people who find each other, who fall for one another in the direst of situations. And somehow along the way, Ella is even able to find her voice in front of Cage. They are as different as can be, yet so perfect for each other. Their love is pure and sweet ¨C and everything that it shouldn¡¯t be given the circumstances.

Cage ¨C all caveman, rough and possessive, and yet incredibly empathic, protective and even sweet. A child¡¯s heart trapped in a grown and very dangerous and manly body. A walking contradiction, yet the perfect package. So innocent ¡ yet not at all. My heart beat for him from the very beginning.

Ella ¨C pure, beautiful and broken, but also so strong and determined.

Those two grow so much throughout the course of the two books, the scenery changes, and so do they. It is beautiful and powerful to watch. Seeing them both adapt in different ways, always being exactly what the other need. My heart ached for them, beat for them, broke for them. A captivating ¨C no pun intended ¨C and riveting story from beginning to end, and I am glad to have accompanied them on their journey.

Clarissa Wild, thank you for giving us this untamed and wild beast of a man. I cannot wait to read more about Lock! But let me be clear: Cage is *MINE*!!!

Cage was like a little boy in a grown and sexy man-body. He was incredibly naive. He didn¡¯t understand what most of us consider normal expressions or colloquialisms. He wasn¡¯t socialized, he had never even been outside. He didn¡¯t understand the world around him because he wasn¡¯t a part of the world. He lived in a caged environment and the only thing he knew was to fight¡ to the death. He had never had a friend and he had never known affection, however, when given the chance to meet someone, to have someone of his very own, he chose Ella. But when Ella is taken and wakes up to her new life in the cage, will she ever be able to forgive and love Cage the same way that he loves her?

The ARC copy I received had both Caged and Uncaged. I personally thought this was awesome because I didn¡¯t have to wait to continue this story and it read like one book. I did think it was going to be a dark read, and while it may be uncomfortable for some, it really wasn¡¯t that dark at all. However, I¡¯m a huge fan of the dark and twisted, so my opinion may be a little off. Both Cage and Ella are prisoners of a man who sees them as nothing but profit. Cage really doesn¡¯t know any better and Ella has a hard time adapting to the life of a captive. Somehow, amidst the chaos, pain and devastation, a strange sort of love starts to bloom between the two and Ella vows to stop at nothing to allow them both a taste of freedom. The freedom to live and the freedom to love.

While I very much enjoyed Caged, I felt that some parts were dragging in Uncaged. I also wasn¡¯t very happy with the events that surrounded Caged. He was an unfortunate victim of circumstance, but instead of being treated as a victim, he was criticized, ridiculed and vilified as a monster. And because he didn¡¯t know any better, he believed that he was unworthy. I loved this character so much and wanted better for him. I also wanted Ella to be a better person overall. I wasn¡¯t a huge fan of hers but I was definitely a fan of their love. I recommend this story to those who enjoy romantic suspense with a touch of the dark side.

4 I Need A Cage Stars

Ella suffers a tragedy when she's young, it devastates her to the point she stops speaking becoming a selective mute.

So Ella wakes to someone putting a rag covered in chemicals over her face and when she wakes again she is some weird cage/cell that's joined to other cells. In one of the cells is the beautiful 'beast' of a man who she can't keep her eye's off of.

Cage is, well Cage is kept in a cage. Anyway he is kept in his cage until it's time to fight again and after each fight he wins his reward, except Cage needs a new reward so his captor lets him choose a girl he likes from a group of photo's. The thing is Cage thinks there is nothing wrong with any of this as he was born and raised only knowing the life his captor taught him, and only what his captor wanted him to know which wasn't much.

Cage is completely dumb clueless to the outside world and most things really but he did know what a clit was so that was pretty incredible as many educated men don't have a clue about that. None of that really matters though with a body like his, doesn't hurt that his dick is.................

So this read as a ridiculous OTT read to me, I hope that's what the author was going for. The sex scenes were hot but a lot of the plot I found had holes. This book thoroughly entertained me hence the 4 stars but it was in a 'boy this is ridiculous' kind of way, none of it seemed realistic. I have read this author before so I knew what to expect but I would suggest going into this expecting twisted and OTT and you will not be disappointed.

UNEDITED EXCERPT:

ELLA

When I come to again, the first thing I feel is a roaring headache. My lungs burn when I breathe through my mouth. A metallic taste lies on my tongue, and I swallow to make it go away, but it lingers. Everything hurts. My head. My mouth. As if I¡¯ve been hit a couple of times, but I can¡¯t remember a thing.
And when I open my eyes, I¡¯m still so dizzy; I can barely make out a thing.
It¡¯s dark as night. Not a single light surrounds me except the one at the far end of the room.
The room ¡ with no windows.
No plants.
No sunlight.
Nothing.
All I can see is a gray concrete wall surrounding me.
I try to get up, but my feet don¡¯t feel like they belong to me, and I struggle to get anywhere. But I don¡¯t give up. I keep crawling across the floor, hoping to make it to the light, just so I can see where I am.
But I can¡¯t.
Not because my muscles gave up.
But because I physically, literally can¡¯t.
Between me and the light ¡ is glass.
I turn around, trying to find a way around it, but there¡¯s no crack. Not a single one in all the glass surrounding me. Not even at the top as I try to stand on my toes. Nothing ¡ but glass.
A cage.
My heart stops beating.
The panic rises again, bubbling to the surface.
I open my mouth and scream, but no sound comes out except for a faint sigh.
Just like always. My voice was taken from me a long time ago. And I know no matter how hard I try that no one will hear me.
Where am I? Who was that man? Where did he bring me and why?
With my back against the glass panes, I sink to the floor.
I can still barely make out my environment or feel my own skin. I¡¯m numb from the drug he gave me and numb from the shock.
But I still don¡¯t cry. I close my mouth and stop breathing. I stop moving. Like a rock, I stay put and pretend I¡¯m not there.
Why?
Because something across the room, not far from me, still captures my attention.
Something lurking in the dark behind the glass.
I¡¯m not alone.

descriptionIt's rare I give 5 stars to a book cover but this one hits all the right notes for me. A good representation of the hero. Fantastic composition and title work as well.description

descriptionMy ARC copy included both CAGED and UNCAGED. I am not sure if they are going to be released as one long book or as a duet, but I have included a separate review for both here.

CAGED -- 4-STARS
I enjoyed this one a lot. The writing was great. The pace was perfect. The plot engaging and kept me turning the pages. It had no OW/OM drama. The sex scenes were hot. I didn't find this one dark in the least, but as you know if you follow my reviews I read and enjoy some seriously dark books, so do keep that in mind. This was light on secondary characters, but the ones that we get glimpses of were interesting, and there was one, in particular, I hope we will see more of. Both main characters were likable. The "romance" if you will was a bit insta, but I couldn't help but feel for Cage and fall in love with him. Ella was an equally enjoyable character. Lastly, this one ends on a cliffhanger which leads us into the next book.

description

UNCAGED -- 3 STARS
OK, so I didn't love this one as much as I did book one. A lot of my positive feelings from above remain the same for this book. That said, I thought this one dragged a lot, and I started to lose interest a bit as the book went on. On top of that, I found certain situations to be a bit...how do I say this? Farfetched I guess. Especially surrounding Cage. I can't explain any better than that without out giving examples and thus giving away spoilers. Suffice it to say that they bugged me enough to pull me out of the story.

So there you go, a two for the price of one review. *lol* Book one gets two thumbs up from yours truly while book two still gets a positive one thumb up.description

This was a 3 - 3.5 stars for me...basically the first part of the book is; "Caged" and that was worth a solid 3.5 starts...but the second part which was called "Uncaged" was in the low 3's. I just found by the second half of the book, it became very unrealistic. Normally, I am pretty lenient with unrealistic, mainly because I am in my fantasy land of whatever I am reading!! This time though, there were more than a few "eye rolling" moments for me, and I just couldn't over look them!!!

Over all though, I did enjoy the story...but I certainly didn't love it. I will say though, if you are ever looking for a very steamy read with awesome sex scenes...then this would be the book to read! The sex between Ella and Cage are hot!!! Seriously, there were some very explosive moments in captivity with these two, and they shouldn't be overlooked!!! Other than that, this was a good read; but not a wow one for me!

IDK why I keep reading Clarissa Wild novels. They always sound great but rarely grab me. This book was divided into two parts. The first part was okay. Nothing about it stood out. It was the kind of thing I'd expect from a kidnapped/Stockholm syndrome book. Ella experienced something tragic when she was young which caused her to have selective mutism. Admittedly IDK much of anything about selective mutism, but Ella seemed to overcome it rather quickly in captivity. It would have made more sense to me if she were able to speak to Cage but not anyone else. Cage had been captive for his whole life and knew nothing about the real world. He didn't always do what was right but he didn't know any better.

The second half of the book was so fucking ridiculous. For this type of novel I'm willing to suspend belief to a certain degree. The number of things that didn't add up were astounding. Warning: these are major spoilers for the second half of the book. Read at your own risk.

Handsome stylish man in blue suit

Taken from her bed Ella awakens in a glass cage.
A reward and potential breeder for her fellow captive and next-door cell mate cage.
Unwilling to accept her fate she fights it at every turn.
But at the same time, she also finds herself falling for the gruff and at times naive male who is not surprisingly just a product of his environment.
His glass prison has always been Cage¡¯s reality that and the ring he fights in.
This life is all he¡¯s ever known and until Ella¡¯s arrival, he was content just following orders.
He¡¯s almost like a child in his basic understanding of how things work and his lack of normal life experiences.
He has no reason to question or fight the status quo accepting everything he¡¯s told at face value until now that is.
Ella¡¯s presence changes everything for him, moving his goalposts entirely.
So this was initially interesting but things did start to get a tad unbelievable after Ella escapes the compound.
I definitely preferred the first half of this to the second and it was actually the second half of this story that pulled my rating down it was just so farfetched.
Still, I did finish and enjoyed it to a point once I managed to suspend my disbelief slightly but unfortunately there was just something missing for me with this one.
It was OK and at times I liked it, I just didn¡¯t love it.

'Caged' by Clarissa Wild is the story of Ella and Cage. Their story is just "WOW". It is a dark romance with some taboo/trigger scene. For me it was a book that takes you into their story and you don't want to put it down. Ella has had a tragic past that she doesn't speak about. In addition, she isn't able to speak with words as she should and does sign language. But now someone has taken her and put her in a cage.
Cage has been in a cage for as long as he can remember. Cage has not been school or freed even to go in the sun. But Cage knows that Ella is his and will do anything for her that is in his power.
Exciting Story!!

I should've listened to the tea gods

DNF @ 35%

This has all the elements for a good, or at least a popular dark romance:

? A innocent virgin heroine with a tragic background ? the bread of dark romance

? A massively large hero with a tragic background (dual V bonus) ? the butter of dark romance

? A dark setting ? the... milk? OJ? of dark romance

?? So what went wrong? ??

This a barbarian-style hero but with a twist. Unlike the other Tarzans out there, this hero has been bred in captivity. He knows how to shower and use a toothbrush, but he doesn't know the grass is green or the sky is blue or what the sky even is.

? See, I shouldn't have ignored the fact that you really can't raise a healthy, super strong, super athletic human in cage, without sunlight or even the benefit of exercise apart from a few bars and push-ups...

The heroine proceeds to play the push and pull game with her captor, or 'Father' as the hero knows him. She pushes boundaries, gets punished, gets rewarded, pretty standard.

It's pretty obvious 'Father' wants them to reproduce and create the next generation of modern day gladiator, but the heroine doesn't know that, she's just thinking that getting pregnant in this place would be terrible.

The captor then takes the punishment too far by taking away the third companion, a black, blind woman. She's the one that's been receiving the brunt of the punishments (already that made me cringe) and finally when 'Father' takes her without telling them of her fate, the heroine becomes too consumed by guilt to eat or care and her anger transfers to the hero as well.

You see, the hero is in a cage, but doesn't need it. Every time his cell opens, he obediently does as he is bid.

? Btw, they're in some sort of second floor/attic where the floor is concrete, but it's never mentioned they're cold and the walls of the cell? They're thick glass... Why? How? How would you be able to commission something that massive without raising any red flags? It's thick enough her banging with all her strength or throwing a chair at it doesn't even leave a scratch but not too thick since they talk through several walls of it???

The hero doesn't know anything besides the truth his 'Father' has taught him, but became obsessed with the picture of the heroine and the obsession has only grown since she arrived. When he does nothing to stop his 'Father' from taking the other girl, the heroine stops even looking at him.

Because of that, hero loses his will to fight and when it looks like he might lose, 'Father' promises him to fix things with the heroine to get him to win.

?? This doesn't sound that terrible, we can overlook some stuff. What's the big deal? ??

This is how the captor fixes it:

It¡¯s a photograph ¡ of Syrena.

Made just days ago.

[...]

It¡¯s her ¡ it¡¯s really her. And she isn¡¯t bruised or cut or bleeding. She¡¯s ¡ alive.

¡°I sold her, but she¡¯s unharmed,¡± Graham says, frowning.

[...]

She¡¯s pretty. They must¡¯ve noticed that too, so they finally bought her. I don¡¯t know where she is or if she¡¯s happy ¡ but all I can hope for is that she¡¯s safe. That the man who bought her will make her whole again.

[...]

This was a gift from Graham ¡ that he felt compelled to give me. But why?

Was it because I¡¯m refusing to eat?

Or is it because of something else?

I look up at Cage and ask, ¡°Did you do this?¡± I hold up the picture.

[...]

He nods briefly then points with his fingers at the picture. [...]

Turning it around, I notice scribblings on the back that I¡¯m not prepared for.

Fight. Live. Love. Never give up. You will be free.

It¡¯s her, but it isn¡¯t her handwriting. It can¡¯t be. She was blind. Her buyer must¡¯ve written this on the back for her. Maybe as a last request.

So, with that, the heroine finally goes to the in between cage and fucks the hero.

??
??
??
??
??
?? (I could go on forever, so I better stop here...)

ONE, why the fuck would you believe anything your captor told you or gave you?

TWO, why the fuck is the knowledge your friend was SOLD not in any way upsetting to you??

THREE, someone please explain what the fuck is up with that picture?

? is it one of those old-timey ones? the ones you can't touch with fingers? who took the time to develop that?

? is is printed on paper? does that mean the captor took his time cutting it out?

? how does she know it's from days ago? if she's unharmed, it could be a picture from before she was taken.

? who wrote the inscription? the captor or the man who BOUGHT her?

? what does she mean 'as a last request'? "sirs, please, send the physical proof of your crimes to my fellow captive with this message to give her hope and i promise i will go meekly to my fate"-type of last request? no? WHAT THEN?

? why the fuck would they agree?

? I should've known this book would go to hell when she brags she likes tea yet heats the water in the microwave. If that's not a red flag, nothing is...

Clarissa Wild - Kindle Unlimited
*posting this here as it disappeared from Amazon Reviews of this book*

HOLY Stockholm Syndrome Batman!!

First off, let me state that there should be a TRIGGER warning for this book. Since there is not, let me insert one here for you. Yes this is a dark book that tried to be a shade of gray to light, but it doesn¡¯t until the end. There is nonconsensual sex in this book. I do not care that the h ends up liking it or whatever else, she was forced into it. I will get more into that in my review. BUT know that there that this happens more than once.

I want to say that this book stayed with me for awhile, but I can¡¯t say it¡¯s for the right reasons. I really can¡¯t see how it keeps getting high stars, other than the writer is promising and the concept was good. The more I thought about this book, the more I realized that I had a longer list of issues with the book than love of the book. ** I will state that this will contain some spoilers as I just don¡¯t see a way to review it without any. (This will also include the trigger scenes mentioned earlier, which I will clearly mark in case someone wants to jump to that.)

It starts off innocently but then the h is kidnapped and thrown in a cell. She¡¯s a selective mute and can¡¯t speak. Next to her is a very big man who just stares at her. We see her thoughts and they are predictable, which is not a bad thing. Moving forward we find there is a captor, the man in the next cell and then another blind female. The captor is completely delusional and does bring up the terror of human trafficking, as well as underground fighting. The man in the next cell ends up being the H (I know right?). The other girl in the cell, well I don¡¯t know because for someone who¡¯s being abused (both physically and sexually) she seems pretty accepting/not scared (dare I say chipper) of her fate. The POV is told from both the H and h, with most focus on the h.

I won¡¯t say much about the side characters, because besides the villain they really play no role in this book. The H in the first chapters has picked out the h. Literally. Points to a picture and says kidnap her cuz I want her. Then doesn¡¯t understand why she doesn¡¯t want to be there. Why she¡¯s not impressed with his fighting skills. Why she doesn¡¯t want to have sex with him. Literally this is all he thinks about. You find out that he has been a prisoner for quite a while and there is a twist. The twist is important as it explains why he won¡¯t try to escape.

Going back to the h. She¡¯s justifiably scared at the beginning, determined to get free. Somewhere along the line she starts to trust the man who stares at her. Why? My best guess Stockholm Syndrome. She knows that he picked her and put in that situation, but doesn¡¯t seem to care. *spoiler* She starts talking to him, but the first time isn¡¯t because she¡¯s endeared to him. **TRIGGER** He wins a fight and she¡¯s his reward. She¡¯s still scared and is forced into a room with him. She¡¯s a virgin and because of his stunted mentality, he literally thinks she will just fall on him and be thankful. Does she have a choice? No. She¡¯s threatened. Let's just say things get mouthy. After she is punished for not giving it up. The second time is not much better. She¡¯s drugged, degraded, strapped down and tells him there are ¡°alternative¡± ways to go about sex. Does she have a choice? NO again, she¡¯s threatened and guilted and then set up. END TRIGGER*** A normal person would be angry or violated. The h? She ends up cuddling with him and sleeping. I have a HUGE problem with this because what sexually abused victim snuggles with their rapist? Then telling the whole world she loves him and that she wanted to. Uh what? They fall in love over the series of days kept in the cage. But really that¡¯s the author trying to make their relationship sweet. Some of it is, but would have been better if written in at a later time, not while in captivity building on nothing really.

It snowballs from there. The author tries to make the relationship endearing, but I couldn¡¯t see it. You find out the endgame for the sex and it does add to the story. **spoiler** when they get out the issues with this book really start. Her finding him again? Impossible. In the middle of some remote woods and he has no idea what¡¯s going on around him, but makes it to somewhere close? Uh ok. Then there¡¯s the paparazzi. Now you see them, now you don¡¯t. They seem to be there when it adds to the story, then magically disappear when the H and h need space. Too inconsistent. The love story/ending? I can only shake my head. Then there¡¯s his ¡°career¡±. Plot hole. It¡¯s mentioned and then basically gone. There are so many things mentioned in the book, one can only assume there will be a book 2. If there is, this reviewer will not be reading it.

I was going to give this book 2 stars because the author has talent. The storyline and plot in this book would have made a better thriller than a romance novel. If it had been taken in a different direction or maybe developed over time that made sense, it would have been better. I¡¯m taking a half star away for romanticizing the nonconsensual sex that happens between the two. If that¡¯s your thing, then you won¡¯t be bothered by it, but as for me I was. This book stayed with me for the wrong reasons. I wouldn¡¯t recommend it to anyone.

Gahhh! Clarissa Wild's books are legit like kindle crack to me. You know the minute you read them you will get sucked right in. They are dark, sexy, sometimes uncomfortable but ALWAYS delicious. This is exactly what we had with Caged. Ella and Cage were sexy and hot. I thought he was caring, sexy and growly. What a combination! I could not get enough.

Cage is a savage. An untamed beast born in a cage. He was born and bred to be a fighter and was locked away waiting for his mate. Enter Ella. A victim of a childhood tragedy, Ella is selectively mute and a victim of her own guilt and memories. But when she is kidnapped to satisfy the whims of a madman and become the plaything and mate of Cage nothing could prepare her for what happens. GAHH! This novel was sexy, erotic, disturbing and so addicting. I was absolutely hooked and now I can't wait to see what happens after that ending!!!

All in all, this was a great novel and I look forward to reading Uncaged and additional books from this author in the future! Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula

2.5 Stars

When it comes to novels with prisoner/captured theme I look for specifics. I look for story lines that have never been told before and I look for eerie realism that sends chills down my spine. Caged was just okay for me. I enjoyed the dark and gritty vibe to this novel but I felt this story has been told numerous times before. I was hoping it would be something completely out of this world that would literally blow my mind to pieces, but it was just okay.

Cage and Ella are being held captive. Cage was born and raised in captivity forced into the fighting world. A world that he now only knows. Ella was chosen by Cage as a prize for when he wins the fight.

There were times I rather enjoyed Cage and Ella's romance. For example when she would draw scenes of the outside world on paper and tell Cage all about her life. But then there were parts that were completely unrealistic and a little to far fetched. and I get this is fiction, but I love dark romances that have the ability to make me second guess the world and think to myself 'damn, you know this could truly happen'. This one however, did not do that.

5 Stars!

I'm not quite sure what it is about Clarissa Wild's writing that gets me but every single time I read her books, she pushes me out of my comfort box in an unknown world but always in all the best ways. On paper I'd shy away from this type of book (darker, angstier) but never with Clarissa. I'm so glad she's a go to for me... and that I read Caged (and Uncaged) because they were brilliant.

Sexy. Gritty. Intense. Dark. Passionate. Suspenseful. Nothing can prepare you for the this book or the experience it gives. The words were mesmerizing... the plot, rich... the storyline, captivating... the characters, addicting... the journey, raw. This two book series was perfectly penned in such a way that it hooked me hard from start to finish.

"I chose him, and he chose me." While their start was all kinds of fucked up in very bad ways, I knew that these two people were special and destined for each other, even when they could not see it.

Ella and Cage were simply... everything. She was the tame to his savage. From their very beginning until the last weird words written on their emotional and twisted journey, I rooted for them to find answers, peace, a real life, civilized ways, a love that THEY deserved, and a happy forever.

This book wasn't easy and the roller coaster of feels will have me whiplash. My heart bled a lot and the intensity at times was overwhelming... hell I even cried some, though a couple were happy tears... but even after everything, their story was worth every..single..moment.

If you like suspense, twists, heat, and page gripping action then Clarissa Wild is a must read!

I highly recommend this book.

This author always creates surprising plots with a catch, or more.

Caged features two tortured characters who find bliss and life force in each other. The female character has a strong will and fights for freedom until the very end like a real heroine. I didn't quite know what to expect from this story, but it's a little devious, a little hot and very entertaining. It's written in a casual style with a few interesting sentences here and there that make food for thought and great quotes.

Ella lost her voice due to a childhood trauma. Now, she finds herself trapped for unknown reasons along with a beast of a man who hungers for her touch. I liked this male character because he harbors an innocence that matches his upbringing away from many things we consider basic, but he's also dangerous in strength and purpose.

There is enough heat between the characters to enhance this dark romance, but there is also a great deal of monsters, horrifying secrets, frustrating attempts to escape and passionate feelings. I wish I'd known this story was the first part of two, but after the shock, I'm curious about the fate of these two characters who suffer blood, pain and isolation together. Now it's time to be Uncaged.

I almost rated this 2 starts just because of the 2nd half of the book. The 1st half was great.

We have Ella who is abducted and held in a glass cell where she meets Cage, a man who was literally born and raised in his cell. There is a little drama back and forth as things are reviled, and there is a budding naughty romance. I throughly enjoyed that half.

The 2nd half ¡°uncaged¡± was so ridiculous I skimmed about half of it. I enjoy a far fetched tail... look at my reading list... but there comes a point when you should have just ended the book while your ahead.

So the escape was fine, but after the escape, not only does Cage never get questioned by the cops when he is found, but he magically is pretty much adjusted to the outside world perfectly. This is a man who had never been outside!! Never seen the sun, a tree, a car.. nothing! And so he starts boxing to provide for Ella and then a few weeks pass and surprise his father is back and wants Ella and the baby... that all goes in the shitter when Cage kills him. Not the cops want him for murder and for getting Ella pregnant while she was captive. Then the trail starts like a week later and it lasts a day and then he¡¯s found not guilty.... P...lease... I¡¯ve watched a few episodes of NCIS and other cop shows and I could put together I better timeline for all that...

I was truly hoping the 2nd have of this book would be a deep emotional read about Cage adjusting to everyday life and the struggle, maybe some ptsd... but no it was crap and ruined the book for me.

Sorry my reviews is probably a little rushed... I should be working right now ?

I had high hopes for this book, but it fell flat. Choppy writing, inconsistent story line, a playlist of songs for every chapter. The story and the description just didn't sync up. So many questions left unanswered. How was Ella picked to be kidnapped? How could cage read and write after only 7 weeks of being trapped with Ella after being alone for years before? How could Cage know how to drive on his first try after leaving the compound with his father who had been stabbed in the neck, twice?? How did Graham survive for so long after being stabbed in the neck?? Who the heck is Bo and why did we only hear about him at the last few chapters of the first book??? And, SO many more...

I barely finished Caged when I realized that it was a cliffhanger. I wish it had just ended, but at least in this version of the book, Uncaged was included. Not sure I like the story enough to actually read the rest. I may have to skim to the end just to see what happened, but if I'm honest, I'm not invested enough in the story to care what happens. It's taken me 3-4 days to just decide to stop reading it after multiple attempts to give the story a fair shot. Sorry. I really hate leaving a review for a book that is negative. But, I don't understand all these 3, 4 & 5 star reviews. We're you guys reading something totally different than what I was? Won't be reading another book from this author any time soon. Again, I apologize for the negative review, but I had to be honest.

They call me savage. An untamed beast.
I was born in the cage. Born to fight. Born to carry its name.
Locked away, I¡¯ve spent years waiting for my mate.
I'm pent up with need. Brimming with desire.
All I want is her... That beautiful girl from the picture on my prison wall.
Now she¡¯s finally here, sharing a cell.
So close. So hard to resist.
But one thing¡¯s for sure¡
Even if she doesn¡¯t know it yet, she¡¯s already mine.

Meh. This was so insanely bad.

I hated the plot, the heroine was a nutcase with serious Stockholm Syndrome. She had a hard life and getting captured and forced to "have a baby"/sleep with a handsome, muscular hot guy in a cage, certainly didn't help her.

The erotic moments were okay, I guess. If you are able to overlook the crazy scenario over all and the pure ridiculousness of them falling in love(when you are tortured/forced into having sex with a complete stranger. That's actually a huge red flag for me)

Why I still read it? I ask myself the same question. ?

Somehow this book was a funny experience in a weird way. Like when you start a bad movie, but still want to know how it continues...something like that happened to me, while reading this.
I can't really say, that I enjoyed this read. I dont even know how I finished it. Somehow I felt obligated, since I received a free kindle copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Well, here it is: this story is bull and a waste of your time.
