Meghan is attending the birthday party of her best friend, Karen, on the arm of Officer Irvin when a beautiful woman enters the party. Meghan is completely shocked to learn that her friend, Karen, has a daughter. She has not seen her in 25 years. It seems trouble has followed Sofia to town and her ex-boyfriend ends up dead. Once again Meghan is on the case. These books are very short, and actually they show on Amazon for readers 13-18. However, if you want a light read with a little mystery and humor, you will enjoy this series. I just realized these are young adult books, but now I am hooked!

I had a lot of weekend road trips in August so I devoured the first five Sandy Bay Cozy Mysteries. The Audible narrator (Elena Marino) is perfect for the material. These novels pair well with M&Ms and are just about the right length to complete in the time it takes to get from one Buc-ee’s to the next one down a Texas interstate highway

Meghan store is doing well and her romance with the detective seems to be heating up. Everything has finally settled down when her friends estranged daughter shows up unexpectedly. She claims her boyfriend is dangerous and shortly after he shows up heist found shot and laying in an alley. Meghan wants to help her friend out so the investigation begins.

This is the third book in the Sandy Bay Cozy Mystery Series. It features a set of eclectic and fun characters with engaging personalities. The setting is a small town where gossip is faster than lightning and opinions are rampant. The mystery is full of great suspects, interesting clues, danger and suspense. The storyline flows smoothly and quickly, highlighting the mystery, interesting side stories and the romance. I enjoyed this book and read it one sitting. I look forward to reading the next in the series.

A madcap romp that really isn't one I liked

It's her friend's birthday party. She's been looking forward to it for sometime especially as she had dinner with her crush (police officer) before. However no-one expected the unannounced guest that arrived. Her friend's daughter! She is impetuous, thoughtless and all about herself. Further when her ex-boyfriend storms into town the danger levels go up. First he threatens her at her own bakery and then he smashes up a bar in a row with the daughter. When his body is found in an alley by the bar there is no limit of suspects. Can they find out who killed him and why? An okay plot but really seemed a bit lacking. Please also note that this one is only 84% of the page count.

Meghan is still new to Sandy Bay and has already been involved in two murders. She is celebrating her friend Karen's birthday when Karen's estranged daughter walks i . Her daughter has been gone a long time. Karen says she is impetuous, thoughtless and trouble. The daughters ex boyfriend shows up and threatens her at the bakery. He also gets into a bar fight, then shows up dead in the alley by the bar. The characters are believable and interesting. The storyline is well organized, and Elana Merino keeps your interest with the twists and turns. There are many who could have had the motive to kill him. You have to read this bookto see how it ends. I enjoyed this book.

The third in this series and again here comes trouble for Meghan and her bakery shop, her policeman boyfriend Jack and her friend Karen. For some reason trouble seems to fund Meghan and her bakery! Help solve another murder in this quiet small town of Karen's long lost daughter as she brings trouble to town. Funny, witty kooky characters you will get to know better. This mystery crime story will have you shaking your head and laughing at the same time! A very entertaining cozy story that can be rad in the order of the series of stand alone! Enjoy!! Off to read the next book and see what kind of trouble Meghan gets into and drags her poor police detective boyfriend!!

Meghan moving to Sandy Bay enjoying the peace and quiet of the day. After the murders in this small town, and her bakery almost ruined. A birthday party of a woman she has known for some time. When her daughter walks in, and was shocked that Karen had never mentioned her. Then to find out how long it had been, since she had seen her. Sophie wants time with her mother, and a new start for herself. Her mother says trouble, and Sophie always go together, is that still true. To find a strange man in her bakery kitchen was a start, and then a murder in the alley, good plot for this cozy mystery

Book #3 is my favorite book so far in the Sandy Bay cozy mystery series. Meghan Truman owns a bakery in Sandy Bay. She is at her friend Karen ' s birthday party when an unexpected guest arrives and creates havoc in all their lives! What is the newcomer doing in town and who are the people who followed her here? Then one of the new people ends up dead, but who killed him? This series has everything I like about cozy mysteries- interesting likable characters, friendship, and maybe romance! This was a quick enjoyable read!

Cookies and Buried Secrets (Sandy Bay Cozy Mystery Book 3), my fourth read from author Amber Crewes (all in the last day). Well-written & enjoyable. another cute, clean cozy mystery. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I was impressed and enjoyed the vocal variety & inflections of narrator Stephanie Elena Marino who was absolutely outstanding. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author as I get them. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

A stranger shows up at a birthday party. Meghan Truman is drawn into the stranger's life. The stranger draws a shady character to Sandy Bay. A murder. A mystery. And, of course Meghan is in the middle of it all.

I love the "feel" of this series. I was drawn to these books because it brought back memories of when I was a baker in the Navy. I can still smell the aromas.

There are quirky characters. An interesting plot. And yummy desserts. Add a little romance and it's a perfect recipe.

Rating: G No cliffhanger, swearing or graphic scenes!

Meghan Truman is finally comfortable and happy with her life in Sandy Bay. Truly Sweet, her bakery, is doing well as is her relationship with Jack, her boyfriend...who happens to be the detective for the local police department. Meghan gets threatened by a new man in town who then goes to a local bar and ends up fighting and tearing up the bar. Then the man turns up dead. There is mystery, emotions, murder and a bit of romance.

Meghan hasn't been in Sandy Bay very long, but she has already been involved in 2 murders in this sleepy, little town. Celebrating her old friend's birthday, she is suddenly thrown into trouble again when the estranged daughter waltzes into town with a crazy ex on her trail. Suddenly, the ex turns up dead.

How could Meghan prove the innocence of the best friend's daughter when the gun was found in her purse?

This was a nice, easy, cozy, little mystery with a scattered plot.

Book 3 in the Sandy Bay series and I'm starting to feel like I am getting to know some of the characters in this town only to have a stranger waltz in. And from there the plot twists and turns like a telenovela! The drama is high with this one. Fear not, Meghan will have it all sorted by the end of this quick read - and might even snag a date! Get ready to suspend disbelief and enjoy the ride :)

Meghan's friend Karen is celebrating her birthday when a stranger walks in and says she is Karen's daughter! Karen says it has been 25 years since she last saw her daughter. Sofia was born in Mexico but when Karen's visa ran out she had to leave her with her husband.
Sofia later tells them she is running from her ex-boyfriend Brody whom she describes as insane. When Brody is found dead in an alley even Karen bcomes a suspect. A lot happens and very quickly so you won't be bored.

Another fun little getaway to Sandy Bay where the dogs play on the beach and sometimes murder pays another visit. A surprise visitor came to Karen's birthday party, and there was soon a murder in town. She couldn't help thinking maybe this person had something to do with it, but Meghan was on the case for her good friend. The cool thing for me with these mysteries is just when I'm sure I've guessed it...I haven't!

The writing is very sophomoric and there is potential here to actual be a good book but while similar books offer more plausible believability on someone assisting an investigation, these have no credible reason for this person to do so. With better editing this series could have been a whole lot better. I'm in for a penny at this point so I'll see if this series gets any better. Same review as the other book. It hasn't gotten better

Fast paced due to being a novella made this absolutely chaotic. It felt like it was in fast-forward. There was no time to get to know any of the characters or for any of them to change in any way. There wasn't even time for the plot to develop. Things just happened and bang it was done. I don't think I'll be reading anymore of this series.

third book in a fun series

Meghan has put the murders behind her and things are going well. She goes to her best friend Karen’s birthday party. Karen’s estranged daughter shows up at the party. Meghan tries to make friends with her. Then a boyfriend shows up and is soon found murdered. Meghan helps solve the murder with a surprise ending

After reading 3 books in this series, I have decided that I am not going to read any of the other books. The stories are so predictable and there is no way you can miss who did the killing. Very boring and no clues to help you figure out what is going on. It ends before I even had a chance to decide what was going on.

Oh my, again and again, Meghan isn't a lucky lady for long, but things seems to get back on course rather magically. But she's a terrible investigator, and often times you scream for her to do the right thing, but no... even Jack was a bit irritated. And often information, sensitive information, is shared with third parties, even suspects for the sake of it.

She had a daughter no one had ever heard of

Friends tell best friends secrets and that she the story began. But because it was a small town, not everyone shared the same part of each story

A quick adventure

This story is one in a series, and the first one I have read. It is self contained so reading out of order is no problem. I enjoyed the characters and the plot, and intend to read other books in this cozy series.

Third in the Sandy Bay cozy mystery series. Disappointing for me. Quick read, short, with little development of plot or characters. People show up, people die, Karen is endlessly exercising, Meghan is jumping into an investigation, etc. Had thought that there would be more... Nice cover art.

Cute little cozy mystery

Short cozy mystery that has fun characters and fast moving plot. Even though it is #3 in a series, it can be read as a standalone. Recommend this little book and plan to read more by this author.

This particular story feels "half-baked." It was like half of the story was missing. Just it lacked the details that make a story pop.

Overall, not very good. While it had all the right ingredients for a good book, it was just lacking in detail and was too easy to predict the ending.
