Having never seen Garth live in concert, this anthology is the next best thing! Loved the included live CDs and the Garth Live App uses augmented reality in a cool way. Must-have for any Garth Brooks fan! Can’t wait for future anthologies if they’re as good as these first ones have been.
Much like the first Garth Anthology, this third part makes a nice addition to any Garth fan's coffee table. In an odd bit of numbering, this is actually the second anthology (despite being labelled Part III), with the second one presumably coming at a later date.
Whereas the first tome looked at Garth's early albums and stories, this one focuses on his time on the road, whether it be playing the clubs and dive bars in Oklahoma, opening for Kenny Rogers, his own headlining World Tour, the Central Park concert, and the now-iconic Ireland gig.
This book is filled with great full-color pictures of Garth's tours and raucous show performances (perhaps what he is known best for) and some stories from him and the crew to match. It also comes with five CDs, including his 1998 Double Live and 2018 Triple Live sets.
Overall, I very much enjoyed paging through this volume, perusing the anecdotes from the road and enjoying the photos. There is even a VR interactive experience on a few pages (using the Garth Live app) that is pretty cool too.
Basically, put this next to Anthology I on your coffee table and wait patiently for Anthology II to round out the set!
Part III was just as good as Part I in Garth's Anthology series. The only reason I rate it at 4 stars is that with his vast history of touring I feel like we could have been given so much more information, stories from the road, etc. The photos and stories were awesome regardless. There's also a really cool feature that links the book with the Garth Live smartphone app that allows a handful of pictures in the book to become videos through the app. A must for the die-hard Garth fan!
The ultimate Garth is God fully drunk kool aid edition with the highlights including that the Central Park Concert was the ultimate and they don’t release it on this live collection. Every one sucks up to Garth so much it’s kind of rewarding to see who does it the best and who does it the most.
Grew up with Garth's music and it's has entertained and guided me throughout my life. Garth is the best role model, completely genuine and his success story is very inspiring. Reading all the behind the scenes of events I remember seeing was very interesting.
