I consider this a really straightforward, indepth - yet not overwhelming - introduction to JavaScript.

While it's generally recommended that you do the challenges as you go, I read this like a novel, or a textbook. Purely to get a lay of the land, as they say.

I recommend especially for beginners.

The book is good but, in my opinion, it is not as good as the website itself because the website updates itself. The contents are quite similar but the website provides better clarification, not to mention that it allows people to comment on it to help improve the tutorial.

Great book to learn about modern JavaScript in depth. You can also learn it for free online at javascript.info.
I highly recommend reading this book both newbies and experienced software engineers.
