3.5 Scandalous Stars!

Well! put a bow on it and spank it.. Yes double entendre.. 😉

Not bad for a freebie, it’s got a bit of everything, Reid aka “Father is recruiting, and Devon an expert hacker has just met her match, she’s kidnapped by him and wakes up in a strange place, her world just turned upside down...what’s worse is, she’s strangely attracted to her kidnapper...
Yes...some yummy sex scenes, this delicious little quickie is an introduction to what I think will be a good series, it left me wanting more... read it, and decide for yourself.

description I love to do things out of order, so I read this one last. 😂 I liked it. I wish it had been longer and more fleshed out. 😪 I mean...a silver fox called "Daddy" 😝 deserves a full-length book. But what can you do...

Dark Daddy!

Professionally written, fast-paced and totally engaging, “Bad Babygirl: The Hacker is a prequel to the new Bad Babygirl series by Zoe Blake. “The Hacker can be read as a standalone novella, features dual POV and provides readers the opportunity to sample a dark daddy dom romance without the commitment of a lengthy novel as well as at an extremely reasonable price.

With the ambiance of a spy novel (think Kingsman: The Secret Service), “The Hacker features a bright, intelligent and utterly bored young woman who is recruited into a mysterious organization in quite an unusual method. Kidnapped from her home and held against her will, Devon is thrust into a world where “Father controls everything. As the training progresses Father (aka Reid) and Devon develop a deep connection, establishing a loving relationship, completely immersed in daddy dom, D/s kink. Lacking any age regression or age play, elements that often make some readers uncomfortable, the daddy dom emphasis is skillfully conveyed through Reid’s dominance, control, protection and care.

Please heed the author’s warning, this is a dark romance due to elements of dubcon, breath play and harsh punishments.

Disclaimer: No Kindles were seriously harmed while reading this novel. Children 18 and over only due to sexually explicit content within an unequal power exchange dynamic!

Disclaimer for the Disclaimer The term “seriously harmed is not intended to include: overheating, scorch marks, minor melting or inconsequential fire that can be put out with an extinguisher. Fire retardant gloves highly recommended while reading. Reviewer is not responsible for run-on sentences, misplaced commas and illegal use of overly descriptive language.

This was a short quick link read that I liked. This book reminded me of a kinky version of the movie red sparrow. Devon who is known for her hacking skills and she loves a challenge. She is being stalked by Reid who wants to become her Daddy Dom. He kidnaps her and takes her to his mansion where he has other girls that he has been training. I love reading this authors work. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Just the right combination of forbidden and smutty! Devon, or 13 as she's now known, finds herself for a bit of a shock from her hacking activities. I love this story. Makes me think of a dirty filthy version of shows like Alias or La Femme Nikita. I can't wait to read the other stories now. And Daddy....Father...dark deliciousness!!

I have been in two minds about this particular series as love the whole Charlie's Angels meet Ocean's 8 adventure criminal feel to the series but was umming and aahing about the BDSM side with Daddy Doms as sometimes I feel the authors play too much emphasis on this side of the book. Though I am writing my reviews backward from my list as you will remember me writing the review for Book #1 - Bad Babygirl: The Con Artist. This book starts off with Devon who is known for her hacking skills and she loves a challenge. She is being stalked by Reid who wants to become her Daddy Dom. He kidnaps her and takes her to his mansion where he has other girls that he has been training up to be like Charlie's Angels or in this case Reid's Angels. He needs Devon's skills for a heist that they are hoping to plan. I have to admit I liked Reid as a Daddy Dom compared to Ethan as unlike Ethan, Reid seemed to care more about Devon and not act as sadistic as Ethan who just took what he wants with no regard of what the female was feeling. I am now looking forward to reading the next two books in this series and discovering more of what Lyla and Quinn's talents are and hoping their guys are more Reid than Ethan's dominance style.

Great read if...you like quick reads, Daddy Dom, action, and an HEA.

Side Note: It was enjoyable. Wasn't jumping off the page for me to keep reading the series, but it wasn't bad for a quick read. Zoe Blake's work has always been easy for me to enjoy and this was no exception. Fast faced. Fun concept. (Which she is also known for) Daddy play, which isn't for everyone. This was definitely not as dark on that side of the spectrum as I was expecting so maybe for those new to reading that trope, might feel comfortable starting here.

"Lucky number 13"

I really enjoyed reading this novella and I can't wait to read the rest of this series.
Devon hadn't had the best of life so far and her hobby had just got her noticed by the government and Reid.
Reid decides to take her before the government can and what unfolds is an interesting, hot and delicious story that will keep you hooked throughout.
I loved Devon and Reid's interactions and the way the author wrote it.

This was my intro to Zoe Blake and was a fantastic read, the story was engaging and the sex scenes were really well written. This is a prequel novella and all I can say is watch out, if the rest of the books in this series are half as good, you're in for a treat. I can't wait to get stuck into more of her books, a new favourite author of mine.

I read an advanced copy of this book.

This is a steamy standalone in a series that I can’t wait to read more of. Thirteen finds her own ways to keep herself busy but when “Father gets his hands on her life as she knows it will never be the same again. If you’re looking for a fast paced, a bit on the darker side of romance then this is the story for you. I’m curious to the other girls stories and can’t wait to read them.

Devon's Daddy

I did this series backwards, I read the series before this prequel. Loved the series, this is a nice segue into the series. Shorter than the other books, but less " violent" in the sex and spankings as the other books. If you liked this book, then do yourself a favor and read the series.

Zoe Blake at her very best! If I have a “go-to author, it is Ms. Blake. Her writing style is a perfect blend of story, dark romance and steamy action and this series looks to be more of the same. For a gal who doesn’t normally like reading a book series, I say... bring on book 2!

 DREAMY’S REVIEW

This novella is all types of dark, dirty, twisted, kinky AF, and forbidden with tons of steam! Bad Babygirl: The Hacker was every bit of deliciousness that I didn’t know I needed!

I’m not new to Zoe Blake and her writing, so when I saw that she was coming out with a set of HOT AF books, I was on it quick!! She knows how to balance the perfect amount of steam and story!

Devon finds herself in a situation that has to do with her hacker activities! “Lucky for her, Reid got his hands on her before anyone else could.

Number Thirteen is what she is called after being kidnapped and taken. Not only is she a brilliant hacker, but she’s bold and beautiful and bored of what she’s doing.

“Devon Chase was a woman who desperately needed a challenge, something more exciting than this staid boxed-in life she had created for herself.

But Reid kept her occupied and the slow but steady unveiling of the reasons of Thirteen’s abduction... I just could not get enough!

“This place fascinated her. He fascinated her.

Thirteen and Reid craved each other. It was hot. It was intense. It was rough. It was kinky.

He’s no longer ‘Father, he’s Daddy.

Bad Babygirl: The Hacker is a 0,5 novella, which starts all Bad Babygirl Series.
I am new to Zoe Blake books and I really didn't know what I will read, when I saw this series on my Kindle.
Why? Because I don't read blurb. Never.

This short story with eight chapters is something really good.
The balance between story and steam is perfect.
When I saw the list table of contents I thought that is weird. Too short story, to be something good.
Then I started reading it and I was shocked.
The Hacker has a fast- growing plot and this is right thing!

Devon is a number thirteen in Reid home. She was kidnapped and taken. Reid choose take not only her hacker's brain, but she is beautiful woman with ambitions.
Reid isn't a Daddy to her. He is the mysterious, powerful man with magnetism. He is a Father.

This short story is intense and I am totally in love with it!
Can't wait to read next book in series.
Fortunately it is on my Kindle!
I recommend this novella!

Bad Babygirl: The Hacker by Zoe Blake is a deliciously dark romance novella that is full of feels, suspense, thrills and kink. Devon and Reid make the story sizzle. I liked the daddy dom - Dd/lg in this novella. It's chock full of action, drama, passion and heat. I can't wait for the next book in the new series.

First, let me preface this by saying that this is the same book/story as the one that is titled "Daughter #13" by the same author that is listed as the last book of the Bad Babygirls Series. It's a good thing she changed the title because "Daughter #13" makes you think that someone in the story either has 13 daughters...OR that someone has 13 women who are his Submissives who call him "Father" (or in Devon's case, "Daddy")...neither of which is correct. Now, with that being said, I'll now go on to my review.
I really don't know wtf I just read, but it was no romance. This book was written entirely around the idea that the heroine (?), Devon Chase, was a hacker that hacked the wrong people and got discovered. Instead of allowing the FBI and/or CIA, and/or law enforcement to get ahold of her, the "hero", Reid Harrington, AKA "Father", who had been "stalking" her for weeks, breaks into her apartment and basically stages her "death", then proceeded to drug her, kidnap her, and then he makes her his "13th daughter" at his hidden military compound, where he and 12 other girls live and carry out questionable "missions" for the FBI, CIA, as well as private clientele who are willing to pay astronomical amounts of money to "one up" each other in whatever field or industry they work...from which it is said by one of the girls that some of them sometimes don't come back from alive. Each new girl is forcibly tattooed with their new name, which happens to be whatever number they are assigned, hence the number 13 for Devon's new name. None of the girls are allowed to keep the name they were born with. They are also forced into medical exams, they have their hair drastically cut short, etc. Anything that was identifiable before their kidnapping, they were no longer able to keep. They are then each trained for whatever special task they are good at (i.e., Devon being a hacker, another girl being an assassin, etc.), and self-defense. (For the record, let it be noted here that the author did have Reid, in a moment of introspection, say in his head, that there were also men at the compound, but that at one point he realized that women were more intelligent and/or easier to take and train in the ways he wanted. However, the one other man that was mentioned at the compound didn't go by a number. He actually had the name "Brad". So the men didn't seem to lose as much of their identity as the women when they were taken. This didn't seem quite right to me, but that's probably just me...right?)
What pissed me off the most about this book wasn't the fact that it wasn't a true
What pissed me off the most about this book wasn't the fact that it wasn't a true romance novella. No, that would have been fine...IF the author had done things a bit differently than what was written. What got me all up in arms was the fact that Reid Harrington, AKA "Father" or "Daddy" literally kidnapped Devon Chase, AKA 13, from her home, staged her death, and forced her to become part of his "daughters"...and then his submissive. If the author had allowed the heroine to make a choice as to whether or not she wanted to participate as one of his "recruits", then that might have made the story more palatable. But the fact that she did NOT write it that way, made it more like Stockholm syndrome than any true feelings or romance. Devon was forced into the lifestyle, forced into being a recruit and, although all of the sex was consensual, it was not truly romantic, especially the first time. Reid was sort of a rapey older man (15 years older than Devon) who didn't truly give her a choice in anything. (This is where the dub-con comes in. Although Devon seemed to want him, at that point, did she really have a choice in the matter, or had she just given in after all of the "training" she had been put through?)
Definitely NOT my cuppa tea. I was greatly disappointed in this author and this novella.

After reading that he kidnapped her. I didn't know if I could read on through. As I went farther, I got the gist of it all.
I felt it was an unusual read, but was okay with it.
I think it was a smart, quick, made you think, kind of read.
