I'm going to war with the bullies that have tormented me at the academy. It's time to make Jensen McCauley and his minions pay.
But when our prank war lands us both on restriction, the two of us are trapped together.
It's all his fault. It's all his plan.
Jensen wanted to be left alone so he could unravel the secrets surrounding his sister's death.
I've got enough to figure out. I have to make sense of the on-again, off-again heat between Lex and me, my hopeless crush on Rafe, the sexy instructor who think I'm a human trainwreck, and the way I've ruined my friendship with Penn.
Plus, there's the small matter of the demon stalking me...
But when Jensen McCauley needs my help...even though he doesn't deserve me... I'll help him find the truth about his sister.
It's a truth some people are desperate to cover up.
Can Jensen and I not only work together...but survive?
I found this much easier to digest now that the majority of the bullying and abuse of the first book has been diverted into the guys coming to terms with the knowledge that Maddie is their mate (not a spoiler). I liked that Maddie and Jenson finally resolved matters, not that I would have given him a second chance, and that they bonded over such a serious situation.
Throngs are really getting good now. We start where the first book ended with Maddie and Jenson on restriction for their first free weekend due to their actions. This wouldn't be a problem but Henson is determined to learn what really happened to his sister instead of the lies being told. This leads them down a huge rabbit hole as events play out very quickly. While intense it gives the two of them time to work tho he out between them before the rest of the team comes back into play. We learn so much about who the characters really are while still moving from one thing to another. Piper having the twins is just the cherry on to of the cake before that mind blowing epilogue. A totally fantastic adventure. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
A fantastic storyline for the second book in this series which mainly revolves around solving the death of Eliza, Jenson's sister.
The characters have developed more as a team and prove that they are all very capable of looking out for one another. The boys have now accepted Maddie as part of their group and their lives and it's great to see them step up for her even more in this book. We see a vulnerable side to Jenson that I will admit is very endearing and it actually makes me like him a bit more (I never thought I'd say that!).
I think there is a character that reflects our characters and that's what makes this series and cast so likable. As much as I hate to admit it, I am a bit more like Jenson (book 2 version) as I really do rely on sarcasm to cope and joke with things on a daily basis. I really do applaud May Dawson with bringing these characters to life and making them so real to us.
More pack politics come into play which makes us understand their culture a little bit more. We see that not every pack is like Maddie's and it lends a vulnerability to those characters. The descriptions are spot on and I love how each wolf does have their own unique look.
The book does seem longer than the first and in some of the beginning scenes, it does feel a bit slow. There is a bit of background information to be brought in and that does make it a bit slower-paced, but stick with it as it does heat up and pick up! Another great story brought to you from a very talented author! Well worth a read.
I really enjoyed the first book, so I was surprised when the second book was better than the first!!
I was looking forward to seeing what happened after book one, and let me tell you May did not disappoint!!
Maddie has even stepped it up a notch. She is not going to let anyone get away with anything and she is not playing. We get see more about her family, which one of my favorite things in a book to read is family. However big or small. Finally we get the guys becoming not so much A-holes.
So overall, book one we get more of an intro into the life of the characters and the main characters. Book two, Unclaimed we get the meat of the story. The pace is fast, characters just as interesting if not more so, and just really a great overall story. I cannot wait for book three!!!
This is turning out to be a great series, one that once you start you will not be able to put it down! The storyline is growing and developing and is full of twists and turns, some you will not see coming and I am loving the characters and watching their relationships grow! This is a fab reverse harem academy series I would definitely recommend!
Impossible but even better than the first one. Just trying to make Jason pay for bullying. Definitely not expecting to both of them stuck together. Can’t wait for the next one. Fabulous.
Quick Info Standalone/Cliffhanger?: Standalone Part of a Series?: Yes ---------------------------------- Meeting the Characters Maddie Jensen Penn Lex Rafe Silas ---------------------------------- What happens? Maddie and Jensen are left behind on restriction while the whole academy empties out for four days. With Jensen's father out of the way Jensen breaks into his father's office to find out the truth about his sisters death. Going on a mission to interview the people that were close to her at the time, Jensen and Maddie come to an understanding with their relationship with each other. Final thoughts I liked this a lot. I'm still pretty sure I should have read the other series first but I couldn't resist this series. It just sucks me in. My only complaints are Maddie seems to do the 'I'm weak and feeble' routine a lot for someone training to do patrols. At least she seems to do anyway. The guys rescue them a lot. Would I read again?: Yes Would I read this author again?: Yes Would I continue on with the series?: Yes
Per usual with May Dawson books I was sucked into this series instantly. Hence my not stopping until book 2 to review. My bad...
I honestly didn't think this one would appeal to me because I rarely get into spin-off type series... especially after thinking of Maddie as a child for so long in Their Shifter Princess. Maddie offers her sister's same grit while also standing independently on her own personality. A lot of growing took place in Unclaimed for Maddie and the boys.
Speaking of the boys; Dawson consistently writes some of my favorite book men. Each very unique while sharing a common thread that ties them to their women. Protective but not in a smothering way. Alpha but not overbearing. Cocky but not... well, actually, they remain endearingly cocky. Easy to love. I honestly get a pang in my chest just at the idea something might happen to any of them.
Now I'm barreling right into the third installment!
The plot is okay...its not going to be an all time favorite of mine. Will probably never read it again to be honest. I think the story has potential which is why I will give the next book a try. However, I am not a spelling genius or English major. I see things in books every now and then...no big deal. But this book is PACKED with spelling and grammar errors. The one thing that really irritated me was the improper English. Some times you might see that when its part of the character, you know like they say weird things or speak in a weird way which adds to the characters personality. That is not what's happening here...IDK if the author is not use to American English and it translated wrong or if the editor was a flunky who barely graduated. But its bad. Packed full of these mistakes. So, if this type of thing bothers you I would suggest you pass on this book.
On her first weekend allowing the students to go home, Maddie can't. She's grounded for fighting with Jensen. That means that she can't see her sister. She's livid, she wants to make Jensen pay, but when she sees him snooping around, Maddie can't help but follow him. When their snooping proves a different version of what happened to Jensen's sister's death, the two of them leave the academy to find the whole truth. In their journey together, they get to know each other, and feelings change. And when they are in danger and Maddie calls for her family, not the people she's expected show up.
I loved to see how Maddie still keeps strong and won't let the bully at the academy take her down. I also love how loyal she is to Jensen—even though he bullies her—just because they are teammates. And her guys... I'm really curious of what Rafe will do.
Book Two picks up a month after the beginning of the term. You need to pay close attention to the Point of View because it changes periodically. It can be confusing if you don't catch the shift. Maddie is on restriction and worried about Piper's pregnancy, but more concerned about finding what her father said via the necklace. She's still enemies with Jensen, attracted to both Lex and Rafe, and has captivated Penn. A lot more back-stories of the characters are revealed. Then halfway through the book, she's not enemies with Jensen as they yield to their mutual lust and attraction. Her team is well on the way to becoming her harem. A very surprising revelation about Silas. Then a cliffhanger ending that will make you want to immediately continue with Undone.
Decent second installment to this series. Maddie and her guys have a lot happen in this book. We get to learn a bit more about all of them, especially Jenson. I loved the various POV shifts. Nothing better than experiencing a story through the eyes of 2 or more characters.
I will say that there were a few spots in this book where the plot became muddled and confusing. Some you figure out as the book goes on and some you don’t. Not sure if that will be cleared up in the next book or not, but it did make the reading more difficult for me to enjoy. There are some editing errors as well, but those are minimal. Overall it’s a good series so far, but I just didn’t like this book as much as the first. 3.25 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m a little confused. In this world born female wolf shifters are rare, they’re coveted, they’re pack princesses. YET I only see Maddie being treated that way. Almost everyone has a sister, a born female wolf shifter sister. Jensen (though she’s dead) Rafe (with a niece to boot) Lex (who’s 17) and Penn (who is older). There is no talk of their sisters being pack princesses or coveted or special. So what gives? Either born females are rare and Maddie happens to meet every guy with a relationship with one or they’re not so rare and not so special and the whole premise of pipers books is null.
That being said, I give this book 3.5 I love them all coming together and I can’t wait to read more.
I’m still just mildly invested. It’s enough to want to know more but that’s about it. The slow build to end is good for each book. And each book is slowly building towards an overall story as well. Despite the fact that I will keep reading the series I don’t really have much to say.
Maddie is strong willed which I like. The guys all have their individual qualities that create a great pack. It kind of feels like Piper is pushing Maddie out of her pack since there is no blood ties which is kind of jacked up. I pegged Silas as being not a shifter though. Glad I was right on that front.
5 stars for Unclaimed by May Dawson. This is book two in Their Shifter Academy Series. I am loving the storyline of this series, and Maddie and her harem. Maddie and the guys are finally working together as a group. The best part of this book was getting to see a softer side of Jensen. May Dawson’s writing has a way of making these characters seem real. It feels like I know them and I’m a part of their story. This book for me was a turning point for Maddie and her group. I am pulled in, I can not wait to read book three.
May Dawson has definitely kept the spirit and tempo of the foundation book going in this one. MC Maddie can’t stay out of trouble to save her own hide because she is constantly following her instinct to take care of and be there for her guys. At the moment she has them all recruited but is still taking her time and theirs getting those individuals committed to her and each other. If you need lots of action, drama and angst to go with the misery of being back in school and a shifter with magic, this is Definitely the series for you!
Maddie just can't stay out of trouble! While the first month at the Acadamy is nearing and the students get off for a long weekend, Maddy finds herself at restriction. She is not allowed to go see her sister as she is nearing the birth of the awaited twins. With most of the students away from the school, how much trouble can Maddy find, really? With her and Jensen being the only ones left of their patrol, it should be easy to stay clear - shouldn't it? So little time and so much to do!
So far this series is amazing. I love all of the different personalities and all the different perspectives that these books are written in. Normally books like these are only told from one POV and I appreciate the insight into all of the characters minds. The background story of not knowing alot about Maddie's past and parentage is my favorite because it really drives the story without taking away from the action for whatever the problem is in each book.
Two relationships might be ruined when Lex turns up to find Maddie disheveled with Penn from next door. She's left alone on campus while everyone else goes off for the weekend. Well, not everyone. Jensen, her bully/savior is there too and he's up to no good. So obviously she had to follow him in what becomes a three day chase to discover the reason behind a murder that's been covered up for years.

Maddie thinks she’s staying at the shifter academy to finish the training & graduate. Suddenly, she’s realizes it may be for something more. As she gets to know each of the guys, and even when she calls for her family for help, these men, they come. Is she gathering her men to her? A wonderful blend of young love growing into something more, while finding the answers to who’s really out to get her in this slow romance fantasy.
Better than the first book. Maddie gets closer to her guys as they set out to discover what happened to Eliza.
A good chunk of this book bounces between the guys and you get glimpses into their past, packs and their personalities. Dawson does a fantastic job weaving all of these glimpses into the overall plot.
This book really gets the series going once Maddie teams up with Jensen. I like their adventure and I like that it brings in the rest of the guys. The only thing that felt silly was that they were able to solve the whole mystery in one weekend lol. I thought the mystery with Jensen’s sister would take up the whole series, but I’m glad it ties into the bigger issue and plot.
must read! you like sci-fi romance?! this is def for you!! love it!
omg! these books are awesome! such creative writing! def must read!! Love how good these books are! Omg! *sigh* you just gotta read it! Omg! I love love love these books!! Def need to read this! Such a wonderful author!
This is like a soap opera. Filled with drama and different POV's that leave you shaking your head. It's good but drawn out with cliffhangers. So go ahead, read this series, it will leave you lost, confused, and then not confused or lost but back tracking. It's an interesting series and I'm glad I read it.
Spicy choreography is confusing as hell regardless of being pretty vanilla. Sometimes it’s just like oh wow okay where did their clothes go? She’s spun to face him but he’s behind her? Taking two at once but it’s unclear *in* where and no conversations are had to discuss it? Just have to go off vibes? It’s messy writing and we aren’t here for the plot, I’ll tell you that much.
This writing is much better than Their Shifter Princess. I've said it before, but I'm saying it again! I don't know how many things I've ended up highlighting in these first two books on my Kindle already. It's funny, it's mysterious, you don't quite know what's going to happen next.
Maddie is so amazing!!! She's a tough little wolf who knows her strengths and weaknesses and still fights to do the right thing!! And the upheaval in the supernatural world has her and her men working as the team they were always meant to be. Can't wait to read the next book!!!
A brilliant continuation to Maddie's story! I absolutely loved this book and how the characters are connecting and working together. Maddie is starting to find her place and the people she can trust, which is great to read! There are so many secrets to uncover still. Great writing, which made for a captivating story!
I love all the unexpected turns! I can’t guess what’s going to happen next and it seems as Maddie can’t either haha! This is such a great and unique spin for a shifter series which isn’t typically seen. Wolves being able to do magic is something I didn’t even know I needed!!
