Seth Wright and Jane Ellerton are messed up. Really messed up. Their violence and love of excess makes them a perfect match and together they make a formidable couple. Life should be good in their screwed-up world, but there are far too many people who have an agenda and want to destroy them.
No one can be trusted.
This dark, obsessional and downright dangerous pair will do anything to ensure no one gets in their way and they do bad things. Very bad things.
Drugs, guns and murder - along with Seth's escalating paranoia and Jane's erratic behaviour throws them further into chaos, madness and debauchery and their promise to love one another until the end of time turns into a war. A war not just against everyone around them, but with each other.
Can they get their lives on track or will one of them finally snap, meaning they will both forever have to live with the aftermath?
After all, obsession is a deadly downfall and love does not necessarily conquer all. Especially when it is well and truly warped.

Seth Wright and Jane Ellerton are in love. Theirs is not an ordinary kind of love, though. It is filled with violence, drugs, and an intensity fueled by their cruel and sadistic tendency towards brutality. They feed off of each others need for the darkness, which in turn makes Seth and Jane’s relationship even more intense and passionate. Their love is like none other and they match each other perfectly. However, not everyone in their lives are happy with the two of them being together. Debbie has been in love with Seth for over two years and Paul wants Jane back for himself. Their delusions sets off a chain of events that test the bounds of Seth and Jane’s relationship like it has never been tested before. Seth and Jane start to feel the strain as paranoia steps in testing the depths of their relationship. Who can they trust in their circle of friends? Could their love survive until the end of time or are Seth and Jane headed down a path they could never return from?
UNTIL THE END OF TIME sets the bar pretty high right from the first few pages. Murder and mayhem interweave through the pages and into the lives of Seth and Jane. Both seem to relish and thrive through all of the violence in their lives. I don’t think either one knew how to be normal. Even though they were in love with each other, their love was filled with obsession and paranoia which eventually spirals out of control. While reading this story, I couldn’t help but think of Seth and Jane like the couple in the movie Natural Born Killers. Which, at the time was a pretty controversial movie, much like what I think this story is as well. Either you are going to love it and embrace the craziness that has become Seth and Jane’s world or you will absolutely hate it because it’s so unconventional. What can I say? I love the crazy. I love anything outside of the norm. This isn’t some happy go lucky romance. There is murder, violence, and cheating which can be a trigger for some readers. Personally, I love how the author, Edie Baylis, did not hold anything back. The story is in your face, every messed up thing you can think of is probably written in the pages of this story.
There are many characters and multi POV’s, but I never felt lost in the story. Did I necessarily like any of the characters? Yes and no. Seth and Jane do very bad things together and separately, but yet deep down inside, they both had some redeeming characteristics that made them likeable. It may not have been much, but you can see how much they did want to change, but they were so accustomed to a life they were leading, that it became hard to pull themselves away from it. Can they make it out of their life of depravity and become normal? Or is this already their normal?
I have to say that I really enjoyed this story and had a hard time putting it down. Edie Baylis has created a gripping, psychological story that sucks you right in and leaves you embracing the manipulation, lies, and craziness that takes place between the pages. If you like the weirdness, a couple who is not the norm, and a colorful cast of friends who are just as crazy/psycho as the main couple, then you may want to pick yourself up a copy of UNTIL THE END OF TIME, which is the first book in the Downfall series. Book two in the series, ESCAPING THE PAST, was released earlier this month and I cannot wait to find out what happens next.
Seth and Jane are in love with each other. Their love for each other borders on the obsessive. Seth's paranoia spirals out of control when Jane is not within his sights. Jane's inconsistent behavior creates problems where none should exist.
While they may seem like the perfect couple, there are all kinds of red flags. Drugs, drugs, and more drugs are a huge part of their life together. And then there are the other people on the edge of their lives that would like nothing better than to split them up solely for their own pleasure.
I did not like any of the characters.. none of them had any redeeming qualities to my mind. Most of the action takes places in the bedroom, on the floor, against the wall, etc. This one just isn't my cup of tea. The ending was quite unpredictable and while not a cliff hanger as such, the next book takes place where this one leaves off.

Many thanks to the author / TBC Reviewer Request Group (FB). I received a digital copy at no charge and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
DNF@ Chapter 7 Sorry but I can't stay on this crazy train for a minute more. Messy world, to much drug use, sex with anyone because of the drugs, story is all over the place. Also the lingo is making it hard to follow along.
FYI: The above it just my way of cleaning up my reading list and helping me keep track of books I've started but didn't finish. I need to leave myself a way to remember why I don't want to continue.
I think this is the hardest review I've ever written. This isn't my usual genre by a long shot.....and there's a big part of me that didn't enjoy it for that reason......but an even bigger part of me that absolutely loved it!!! This book comes with trigger warnings for very good reasons, a mixed bag that gripped me from page one. It's sad the way the characters lived their lives, but beautiful witnessing the love despite the drugs, alcohol and hardships. The story is very well written and filled with, intense hot chemistry, but I had mixed feelings about Seth, Jane and their crowd. I loved their deep love but really struggled with some of the morals and found some of their actions difficult to read......and some parts I just had to skip over. I wanted to stop reading altogether at one point as I didn't think I could continue with the darkness of the their lives.....but the intensity of the story just kept me hooked and turing the pages, giving me no choice but to continue and I was really glad I did. Book 2 sounds intriguing and a part of me can't wait to delve in, but I'm not quite ready for it just yet..........
Blurb: Seth Wright and Jane Ellerton are messed up. Really messed up and their love is FAR from normal: it's dark, obsessional and downright dangerous
Jane already had a reputation for violence and excess by the time she became involved with Seth - who had no limits either. They are perfect for each other; fiery, intelligent and compatible in every way. Together they make a formidable couple whom no one wants to get the wrong side of.
Life should be perfect, but theirs is far from that. It's screwed up and twisted, but that's ok at least for them, because their normality and for the majority of the people that surround them, is filled with chaos, violence and crime.
Seth and Jane do bad things. Very bad things. They want to stop, but they can't quite manage it and because they will do anything to ensure no one gets in their way, their lives spiral even more out of control.
Drugs, guns, murder and psychological manipulation means their promise to love each other until the end of time turns into a war against each other. Seth's paranoia is escalating and his behaviour is becoming more and more erratic. But then so is Jane's, resulting in their lives descending further into madness and debauchery.
Will none of them ever learn?
Being as everyone is trying to bring them down, will Jane and Seth get their lives back on track or will one of them finally snap, meaning they will both forever have to live with the aftermath? After all, obsession is a deadly downfall and love does not necessarily conquer all. Especially when it is well and truly warped.
If you love dark romance and aren’t afraid to dive into a world of sex, drugs, and violence, you’ll love this one! Jane and Seth are a modern version of Bonnie and Clyde, minus robbing banks. Their romance is fast and furious, and they’re crazy about each other. The problem is, both realize that in their current environment and with their “social circle, their lives are slowly spiraling out of control. The story was definitely fun to read. I love it when, instead of all-good, no-faults-whatsoever characters, the author presents real people who make mistakes, fall down, and get up again, and Jane and Seth were definitely very real characters. The setting itself reminded me a bit of the psychedelic “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, where drugs lead to bad decisions and which soon become the ride you don’t want to get off. Fast-paced and gritty, “Until the End of Time is a great read for all fans of the genre.
This is a dark and gritty novel that isn't much different than watching the same train wreck over and over again. It's brutal, sadistic, and contains scenes that were difficult to read more than once but it's the simple beauty in chaos, the love that transcended the madness, and the realism of life among drugs, alcohol, and two destructive beings as their lives played out in vicious and shocking ways.
Neither Jane nor Seth are particularly likable characters. They have their moments but they're each so depraved, selfish, and deplorable that in some ways its just perfect. I was completely fascinated, disgusted, and in awe of the story as it hurtled toward one hell of an ending. I give the author kudos for writing a story of nothing but flaws but finding the magic within, even when it was bloody and vile. A cataclysmic novel of life in its most raw form.

Riveting dark romance. Seth and Jane are addicted to many things. Namely each other. These too take living on the edge to the extreme. Both have very unsavory pasts before they even get together. But together they're explosive. They seem to feed off the others bad behavior. Daily they get wasted and fight with each other. Both have deep phycological problems that they can't overcome. The drug use only numbs things for them. As much as they both want to start a new life they just can't seem to get there. I kept hoping throughout the whole story the two would go straight. You'll have to read it to find out if they did. I have to say the author did a fabulous job building these characters and their despicable world. I really got invested in the story and felt angst many times throughout the book. That said this isn't a traditional romance. You'll root for the characters, even the secondary ones because their true feelings and emotions that lie beneath their evil acts brings on compassion for the reader.
A sick obsessive love....murder, mayhem, sex and drugs, makes this a really dark and at times disturbing read. I had to keep reading even though I felt frustrated, angry, repulsed and in total disbelief that people can actually live and behave the way that Seth, Jane and the rest of there crew did, but the story still drew me in needing to know what was going to be the game changer for Seth and Jane to finally change there way of life. I was actually sad where this book finished off, so will be starting book 2 ASAP.
wow. This book has all the elements for a perfect dark romance. It is a well rounded story, the love that the two main characters have for each other is unstoppable. With all that is out to destroy them they still find a way to make it.
No matter how hard things got they never gave up on each other.
Until the end of time by Edie Baylis. A fantastic read. I really didn't like Debbie. I wasnt sure if I liked Seth and Jane. They were messed up. So was their friends. I'm looking forward to the next book. 4*.
This book had me interested straight away and flips from different character's perspectives. In a nutshell - the violence, sex and obsession aspect is plentiful and there are plenty of twists to the plot as well as strong characters. I went from rooting for a character, to despising them, to feeling sorry for them and back again several times. All in all I really enjoyed this. A good read and I would definitely like to read others.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book even though I disliked every character for possibly the first time ever! Such a fast paced storyline (if slightly unrealistic at times!) that it was impossible to put down!
Started this book & was going to stop as I was finding it quite hard to get into the story. Being me I persevered & so glad that I did. Loved the characters, Seth & Jane, they're relationship, passionate, turbulent & toxic. I've now read all 3 books in this well written, fast paced, often dark series & the story just keeps gettin better. If like me you find yourself not connecting with the story to start.....PLEASE KEEP GOING, I GUARANTEE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT
Hold onto your seats, 'cause Until the End of Time was one helluva ride! It's dark, vicious and brutal but isn't that the reason we love diving into a book just like this one? It transports us into a whole different realm where there are no such thing as rules and trust be damned. This is definitely not your typical love story, but well worth your time if your into a great thriller!
Seth and Jane kinda remind me of Bonnie and Clyde from way back in the day. They don't take no shit from anyone and nothing fazes them at all! Their characters are not very likable, but their relationship is intense, passionate and explosive to a fault.
All in all, I'd highly recommend Until the End of Time to anyone who loves a vigilante type of thriller. And, is not offended by triggers of any kind.
Wow! Just wiping my brow after reading this fantastic tale of excess. Excess of all types. The era of sex, drugs, and rock and roll hardly registers against these two. The violence is shocking, the sex debauched - greedy and gritty- and the drug fuelled madness that ensues is mindboggling to read. Great writing captures the essence of this 'romance' with fast paced view changes and great descriptions...Too great in some ways as I was wincing in places. I can honestly say that I have never read anything like it and I absolutely loved every moment of this book.
Extreme hedonism and obsessive love are the main focus of this novel and I am talking extreme and unhealthily obsessive. The two principal protagonists do more pills, coke, booze and cigarettes on a daily basis than most rock stars would confess to during an entire tour. The expense alone you would have thought prohibitive but somehow these vices are funded through dead-end factory jobs and work as hired muscle. The occasional armed robbery adds somewhat to the kitty but I still did find myself struggling to suspend disbelief that the characters wallets (as well as their bodies) didn’t give up on life before I was halfway through!
I don’t think dates are ever explicitly detailed but I soon began thinking of events as occurring in the mid-nineties, when there was smoking in pubs and nobody had a mobile phone. This also helped put me in mind of the lyrics to Pulp’s Common People. Many of the characters do appear to ‘watch their lives slide out of view, and dance and drink and screw, because there’s nothing else to do! That timeframe however, doesn’t quite seem to explain quite how incompetent the local constabulary are in preventing or indeed charging characters in relation not only to substance abuse, dealing etc but extreme violence. I am confident that forensic science had advanced far enough to provide evidence against some of the perpetrators of violent crime detailed here. Fortunately, the pace and prose are such that I was happy to suspend disbelief, not worry about it too much and read on to see what happens next.
Before I read the book, there was a warning that it contained descriptions of graphic violence, sex and strong language. If you are looking for a few shocks and some very adult action, it does not disappoint in that regard, although the sex is definitely more evocative of down and dirty naughtiness than elegant sexy erotica!
In summary, an entertaining and at times deliberately shocking and over-the top read. If you are willing and able to curb your cynicism and maintain your enthusiasm while a group of characters go to more and more extreme and self-destructive lengths in their dysfunctional relationships, give it a whirl.
This fast paced dark, gritty book is not for the faint hearted. From the word go the storylines and characters are strong, violent and disturbing. The scene is the 80s drug and alcohol fuelled world of the lead characters Jane and Seth, both with reputations for excess in all areas of their lives. How will this play out when their worlds collide and they fall in love with each other?
The book contains very detailed scenes of drug taking, violence and sex - it may not be for you. Initially I wasn't sure that it was for me. I did find it quite difficult to get into and the storylines disturbing. The characters are not likeable - I include both Jane and Seth, and also many of their "friends" and acquaintances. But as I read on I couldn't help but admire the writing of Edie Baylis as she depicts such a dark world and a couple who are intentionally without many redeeming qualities - except perhaps their unmoving devotion to each other, which is played out in blood curdling, full throttle action. I believe that only a good writer could manage to draw such strong feelings in a reader.
Can it be possible for anyone to come out of this depraved world of excesses unscathed? How many lives will be ruined by this very alternative "Romeo and Juliet"? Not a light holiday read - I am undecided whether I can stomach more in order to find out how the story unfolds in book 2......but something is drawing me back!
This is overall a really solid read. Once it captivated my attention, I couldn't stop. Didn't matter that I needed sleep, I had to finish the book and find out what happened. Even after putting it down it was impossible to sleep which is a sign of my favorite types of books. The ones you put down and wonder why you enjoyed it that much.
This is a very atypical read, which I love. Expect violence, expect to hate characters even as you fall in love with them and most of all expect a plot that isn't one-dimensional. The author is consistent with the characters throughout the book and it has some good character development, which is always appreciated.
It did have some issues. One is the length. I don't mind long books, however I think this would have benefited either by putting it into two books or condensing it. It became a bit repetitive in places where the scenes were portraying the same aspect. That meant it was a little hard to get into but once I did, it was magic. The other issue is the world building. It is not as strong as it could be, which was a bit disappointing. I wanted to know more about what the author saw and thought. These issues caused the deduction of a star. That being said, I still found it enjoyable and original.
4 stars for originality and excellent twists! Solid recommendation.
In a world of drugs, sex and danger, Seth and Jane are a match made in Crazy Town. There is no shortage of death, desperation and despair when it comes to the trashy trio and the men that surround them. Everyone is shagging everyone else and it seems that Jane is a black hole that attracts all things negative.
The relationship between Debbie, her brother Ian and Teddy is revolting. Paul is a sod and a wanker and the men that surround Jane and Seth are bollocks as mates.
The story line blurs at every turn of the page and although I am a decent sport at following changes in lingo, I still caught a few editing issues. I was anticipating a biker gang mentality, mixed with strong sexual content and some murder and mayhem. For me, the majority of sex scenes were more trashy then erotic. I expected that women would be passed around, unless they were made old ladies (permanent ladies, wives), but these lot didn't seem to have any respect for the women whatsoever. It was a barrage of open orgies and a cesspool of drink, drugs, sex and blood.
This story is dark and takes on a maddening journey of sex, drugs, murder and even rock n roll with Alice Cooper....eh, sort of. One of main themes of this story is the maladaptive obsessive nature that is prevalent in most of the characters, which goes through the gamer of delusions and fantasy, adding that extra depth and layers to not only the characters but the story as well. Couple this with other misaligned thoughts, such as possessive mindsets and paranoia, creates a deadly mixture when adding all the drug and alcohol abuse. This story also shows the darker side of romance as leans more towards abusive, violent, and twisted into a strange version that most people wouldn't expect. This one is not of the timid and that's okay because this is wonderful contrast to what most romance stories are about. A great start to what promises to be a exceptional dark series! I highly recommend this one!
One thing you can say about this book, it certainly isn’t boring. I didn’t think it was possible to enjoy a book while disliking the main characters, but I did. Seth and Jane are both violent, drug addicted, alcoholic criminals. They are self-absorbed and treat their friends like dirt (and sometime each other). There is nothing to like about them. But that is kind of the point. Yes having said that, while you hope something bad happens to them, you still find yourself wanting them to be able to get back at the people who cause them harm and you desperately want there to be a happy ending. (I won’t tell you if there is or not as I don’t do spoilers).
It’s quite rare for a book to have much effect on me while I am reading it, but I found myself becoming angry and irritable while reading this one. It shows how well written it is and that the characters emotions are well portrayed. The author does an excellent job with the characters and making them realistic.
This is a dark, gritty book that doesn't pull any punches. It's got sex, drugs, and violence galore. It reminded a little of if Bonnie and Clyde took the same road trip with Hunter Thompson in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and the road trip was a lot more violent.
I couldn't say any of the characters were quite sympathetic. They all spend the entire book doing horrible things to each other, even if some of them are deeply in love. The book is still gripping and keeps you wanting to keep reading. Seth and Jane are deeply in love, even if they also hate each other at the same time. There's people in the background plotting to steal one or the other away from each other and they all meet a gruesome end.
I'm wondering about the ending and if that chapter in Jane's life is actually closed
Introduction to this author and honestly I’m on the fence, trying to decide what I thought about this book. It’s okay, but sorry to say I won’t be reaching for any further instalments! I love a dark romance but I didn’t feel that this was dark. It was about a bunch of misfits who liked to get off their faces by doing drugs or drinking. They had no moralistic values, would cheat and steal from their best mate. Somehow this was all done in cahoots with an MC chapter, gun running and drug dealing. Paranoia was running rife, things were totally out of hand and I found myself being judgemental of the characters. I was waiting for their lives to implode on them. Someone had to die, overdose or get put away for life.
This story took me a little while to get into because it is a fast paced hell for leather novel that doesn’t give the reader much time to take a breath. It is kind of like one of those James Bond introductions and you have to keep up. there are also a lot of characters to get to grips with in the beginning. That said once settled into the break-neck speed style of the author you get appreciate these flawed characters that seem hell bent on destroying themselves and each other. Bonnie and Clyde-esque this story takes the seedier part of life head on- sex, drugs, violence are the back drop to this obsessive high octane love story
**Until the end of time contains written depictions of graphic violence, sex and strong language. It also contains some themes that may be uncomfortable for certain readers.**
Seth and Jane have a very volatile relationship which develops obsessive controlling and demanding throughout the story, some parts were difficult to digest within and complex situations but seemed to many the perfect ideal couple but not behind closed doors.
A dark fast paced book (part one in a series) and looks in depth at violence and the life of the drug scene in detail with a surprising end to the story.
Some characters I struggled with to get the understanding of and complexity to connect with as easily but it became easier the further into the book i got.
Drugs, money, fighting, killing, and a lot of bumping uglies! This book has pretty good character building, and the writing was great. The author made it simple for us to get to know the people and their stories. There were a few spots where it felt rushed, and some were a little long-winded, but I thought it was overall an easy and exciting reading.
A twisted, dark and unconventional romance If you like dark romance this is a book for you. Jane and Seth will take you in a world full of violence, drugs, alcohol, and sex. Although I didn’t have sympathy with Jane and Seth, their story was interesting and captivating. I wanted to finish reading to see how it ends. For those who like won’t mind twisted and dark romance I recommend this book.
Not one for the easily offended! A 'love story' with a difference, none of the characters were particularly likeable. Written with a realistic view of the darker side of life, we are taken into the chaotic, violent life of Seth and Jane. The story flowed once it got going, I found it slightly disjointed in places but I found myself immersed in their relationship and wanted to see it to the end.
