The third to last thing Saint Montoya ever expected is for his brother Anthony to leave STAHP, the vigilante group he'd been leading for nearly two decades. The second to last thing he expected is for Anthony to ask him to step into his role as leader. And the absolutely last thing he expected was to find his fated mate.
I'm a total fan of M/PREG Paranormal Romances, first and foremost as a reader. I'm excited to share my own omegaverse(s) with you. What's not to love about adorable Omegas and the Alpha men who love them? If I'm not writing about men sporting baby bumps, I'm definitely reading about them!
I'm a native of Las Vegas, NV, so I'm pre-wired to love everything weird ~ although I don't find any kind of love to be weird. I'm a cis woman who's been happily married to the same lovable lug for 18 years. We have a 16yr old son, well, at least I think we do? Either that, or we have a ghost that eats all our food and uses up all wifi playing xbox while screaming into a headset.
As a new author, it's been amazing to find the amount of support that I've been given from readers and my fellow authors. Feel free to message me, I love to chat with fellow readers. Am I a reader? Heck yeah! In fact, I'm never certain that I can completely trust an author who isn't a fellow bibliophile.
I will try to update here when I'm doing promotional parties & chats. I usually do those on Facebook. If you haven't already signed up for my newsletter, you should totally do it! I only send out NL's to announce new releases or important announcements. I also like to note in my NL what I'm currently reading along with a cover shot and the link for anyone who is interested.
3.5 Stars for the Story and 4 Stars for the audio!
Having already read the story and enjoyed it, I was really looking forward to the audio. New to me narrator Zane Daniels did a wonderful job bringing this story to life. Great accents, and if you know Hawke's books, you know a narrator really has to do A LOT of different books to do the story justice; Daniels excels at this. As for the story, it was about time Pavlo got his story and it was everything it should've been. Saint was just a lovely choice for the mild mannered Omega, and an amazing choice to be the new head of the STAHP organization. I look forward to the rest of this series!
I’m sure it’s me and not the book, but I guess I thought this was just a romance. Even though this is the first book in a new series, I haven’t read any of the other books. The writing was fine and I did get excited for Saint and Pavlo at the birth of their child, so all in all it was an ok read.
This audiobook was fun, and has characters from The Family Novak and Alphabits.
Really enjoyed this and Zane Daniels did an amazing job narrating these characters.
Look forward to hearing more and can’t wait to to hear the rest from The Family Novak too!
Susi Hawke and Crista Crown are excellent in their collaboration and always write amazing characters and storylines, as well as world building within the ‘modern word.
Really looking forward to seeing where this story goes in the future 🥰
Both Crista & Susi have done it again. I really enjoyed this book, I was expecting this book to be a bit more violent due to it being a STAHP book but I suppose it makes sense as Pavlo is very sweet and doesn’t need the constant violence considering what he’s been through and Saint doesn’t believe that the rules of the jungle applies to each rescue mission/takedown. Saint is the new head of STAHP and he has a few teething issues to work through with each of its members to be able to get to his ultimate vision of being less of a vigilante organisation and more of an off-shoot to law enforcement, working with the likes of Team ALPHA & The Alphabits. I like how Saint & Pavlo’s relationship is and that even though Pavlo is very shy he never backed down from telling Saint what he wants, he’s just not used to believing in his own self worth. In some areas of the book it felt like we were missing a lot of stuff. Like where was the meet the family moment with Saint and the Novak’s and the baby naming ceremony/blessing that the next generation of the Novak’s received since Pavlo is considered family but that’s probably because it’s a different series and if each book is the same they’ll become predictable. Also since Saint was trying to change the mission of STAHP a lot of the book was about him at work with his team and then some sweet, loving and sexy moments between him and Pavlo. I look forward to reading what happens in the following books in this series. I’d recommend this book, series & both authors to everyone.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the story is well written with interesting storylines that grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire book. I am new to Susi Hawke and Crista Crowns world, while I did not have any trouble following or understanding what was going one I think I would have appreciated the story even more if I was family with their earlier series “Alphabits, “The Family Novak and “Team Alpha, this book peaked my so I will definitely be checking out those series too. I adored the two lead characters, Santiago “Saint Montoya and Pavlo, the secondary characters are awesome too. Saint, a lion shifter, decides to move closer to his brother Antonio, who runs STAHP. Antonio has a family and decided it was time to step down and hand over the control to Saint. Saint wants to make changes to the way the group handles the cases, he wants things to be handled in an up and up way, not more killing or disposing of bodies the way they have in the past. He wants to keep things black and white, stay within the lines. But he soon finds out that is not such an easy task in the shifter world. Another big changes happens to Saint he find his fated mate, Pavlo is an absolute doll, he loves kids and helps take care of the Novak children. The chemistry between Saint and Pavlo is sparked instantly and they wasted no time bonding. The authors did a great job packing a lot of story into this book, I loved the instant love and relationship between Saint and Pavlo and how Saint got involved with learning the ins and outs of running STAHP, learning not everything can fit in the lines and be black and white. The story is fast paced and nicely plotted with a perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, some humor, a little bit of action and some hot romance. Susi Hawke and Crista Crown, thank you for this enjoyable and entertaining story.
🎧📚🎧And for the fantastic narration, Zane Daniels talent knows no bounds, he is a versatile voice performer and does an awesome job covering the voices for all the characters, giving each their own unique voice and personality. I love how the takes each role and makes it his own, sounding believable and just as I picture the character to sound, accent and all. He sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all of the characters emotions and projects them into his performance. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧
What a fantastic start of a new series! I love this book! Set in the world of Team ALPHA, the Alphabits, the family Novak and STAHP, this book fits right in. I was welcomed back by old friends. River is as lethal as ever. Leaf is adorable and goes a mile a minute. Needing to spend more time with his family, Antonio Montoya gives the reins of STAHP to his brother Santiago - Saint. His first act is to forbid eating the evidence. While the changes will come in baby steps, one thing comes in an instant. Saint meets his fated mate, Pavlo. Adopted into the Novak family after being abused by his own family, Pavlo keeps to the background and cares for all the Novak children. He never expects to find his fated mate, especially not someone like Santiago. But their attraction is as immediate & intense as it is inevitable. Sexy times ensue. This is a book about changes and the belief in an idea and in yourself. Come. Join Saint & Pavlo as they discover each other and start a new life together. Yes, there is HEA. But the story will continue. I can't wait to see what happens next. You are gonna love this book! This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
I am sure it is me and not the book ... first of all, I did not read any books of the related series so I was a novice regarding all the characters and I think that is not very good for this book. there are so many different characters, who obviously are important but not explained that a lot of the feelings are missing. there is a lot of love between all of them but as I don't know these people I can't relate to them .
second, this is one of these MM books where I got the feeling that the author prefers to write MF but that would not fit in the series, so it is a MM with a very traditional role concept.
third, the story is kind of simple: they meet, they discover they are fated mates (and that was within the first 5 % of this book), they are happy in a relationship (i think, it was not more than 15% in the story) ... and then it seemed to me like a variation of different scenes from their life, but not really a conitinuing story.
this is my first book by narrator and although he did the different voices quite well, I had some troubles with the accent for Saint. for me it just didn't fit. but I am looking forward to other books read by him as he has a great voice.
so all in all 3,5 stars for the audio and 2 stars for the book

4.2 ⭐s New Leadership Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2021 No one expected that Antonio Montoya known to some youngsters as "Mantoy", would ever give up his position as the leader of STAHP for personal reasons. When he handed over the reins to his brother Santiago there was concern by the current staff about what possible changes could be put into place and rightly so.
Santiago wants to keep the basic rescue tenets but without the former body disposal method. The vigilante organization was known for how they handled the criminals they went after and in particular their body disposal method put the fear of God in most and earned STAHP a savage reputation.
Saint wants a new way of handling the organization he has been put in charge of. But the process does not go as smoothly as he hoped. Throw in suddenly finding his mate who turns out to be Pavlo Stanislav. Saint hadn't realized how much a part of the Novak family Pavlo had become, until he was pulled into their huge ever growing family. In a way he was happy because he wanted to begin working more with The Alphabits and Team A.L.P.H.A.
It was great seeing Pavlo get the rapt attention of a fated mate. He had to come to terms with being a Stanislav - it was a lot easier now that he was also a Montoya (and by close association definitely a Novak!).
A great beginning to what is going to be an awesome series
This was a fantastic story, and a great beginning to what is going to be an awesome series. With terrific characters that you'll fall in love with, adorable kids, an out of control group of vigilantes, and more love than you'll ever expect, it's certainly not a story that you'll want to miss! I'm really looking forward to seeing where the series goes from here.
I absolutely loved the Team ALPHA, Alphabits, and the Novak series, which I would highly recommend that you read prior to starting this one. It's not necessary, but you will have a better understanding of the characters, the different groups, and the aspects between them. There's also a lot of crossovers between all of the characters in the above series' as well. Each of the stories are absolutely fantastic, so you definitely won't be disappointed!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional authors.
Antonio puts Saint in charge of STAHP after he decides to retire to enjoy his family. Saint was always so intent on guiding STAHP in a different direction, but things have a way to go in a different way than we expect.
Saint was so sweet and patient with Pavlo, and boy if I didn't melt every single time he called Pavlo 'cariño' or 'amor'. Pavlo was a sweetheart, and they just fit so well together. It was lovely seeing them grow closer together. Sometimes you just need that sweet, non-angsty kind of relationship.
Zane Daniels is a new-to-me narrator and I loved him! He did such a great job with Saint's accent and his Spanish was really good, too, which is a big plus for me. LOL.
This was a very low-angst, steamy, enjoyable read with enough twists and turns to keep things interesting.
Pavlo and Saint are cute enough. What's missing is conflict. They accept each other and are super loving right from the start. Nothing bad happens to either of them. There is no risk to either of them or their relationship.
The project trade between brothers baffles me. Why wouldn't Antonio pass STAHP off to one of his lieutenants or disband it? Why hand it off to his straight laced brother? And why would Saint pass off his charitable projects without a second thought? They both seem happy to do it, with zero explanation why it seemed like a good idea at the time.
Overall, I found this story a bit boring. It might be better if you've read all the Novak and Alphabit books. You'd be seeing old friends.
I love shifter stories. I can even tolerate a little mpreg (not a lot, but tacit understanding that it's that kind of universe is okay). But the kind of universe where all the omegas can think about is getting mated and making babies? Hard pass. I came across book 2 first, and put up with the "we had sex once and now I'm pregnant OMG my life's purpose has been fulfilled!" nonsense because a story about a meerkat shifter was different enough to stick with it. This one? Even the Spanish endearments aren't enough to keep me around. I can't stand pregnancy obsession with real people; I'm definitely not up for it in my fictional people.
Pavlo always intrigued me ever since he was introduced and to finally read his story, it was perfect. 👌 I knew there was more to him & to know how snarky he can be is just amazing. Saint is Antonio’s brother and he’s ready to over STAHP and change it from vigilante organisation to a more law abiding one but he’s realising it might not be that easy and learn about grey areas. It’s a good story of how both of these men come together to build together their life & family. It’s fun, snarky, cameo from all the other characters and all the amazing things you expect from Susi & Crista’s book. (RIP Susi, your legacy lives on🕊)
Lord knows how much I love Susi's and Crista's books but I have to say. This one was one of their cutest ones they have written.
For this reason I gave it a 5 star rating. But it wasn't the only reason, I genuinely adored both Pavlo and Saint with everything I have in me. The ending is quite hilarious and I'm sure that y'all will think so to if you decide to read "Don't Stahp" and I highly recommend that you do. It helped me pass the time while I went to get my tattoo done, I truly lost track of time.
I feel like had I read/listened to the series this is a spin off for, I would’ve had a better experience with this book. I felt confused because there wasn’t a real introduction to the characters. You just jump in, which is fine—if you know who everyone is. It didn’t take too long to determine the answers were in a previous series.
The story was well written and I really enjoyed the narrator. I plan on redoing this review after I read/listen to the previous series. It sounds like it would be good. I would definitely recommend this narrator. His range is impressive.
This is a spin off book following three great series. Pavlov featured in several Family Novak books deserved his own story when he meets his fated mate Saint Montoya. It is precious with just a little dangerous action. I was disappointed that we didn't get more of Pavlov's story in his birth family and how that family is doing with new leadership. It was great that Noah with the ALPHA series .makes an appearance and we know all the groups were going to work together. But mostly I was delighted with Pavlov's mate, new baby and happiness.
Long winded and predictable. Gonna take a break from this writing duo even tho I really want to find out what happens next with Wyatt.
Note: In one of the earlier Family Novak books, its mentioned that that family is ok with prostitution as long as everything is consensual. Ok, fine, that told me the authors opinion on that. So why, in this book, where one of the themes is SEX TRAFFICKING, why are the omegas constantly referred to as "prostitutes"? Its like referring to slaves an independent contractors or something. I found it really disturbing.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I was hoping Pavlo would get his own story and he did. This book picks up right from where the previous Novak family series ended.
Saint meets Pavlo after just moving to the states at Don Novaks house during a party. Saint has agreed to take over STAHP for his brother and Pavlo is the shy Omega that the Novaks saved from his mostly abusive family.
These two are beautiful together and we really get to see Pavlo blossom out of his shell. We get some River and some Leaf followed up with Noah Perkins so that all three previous series are tied in.
Saint is not only good at sweet talking but very attentive and caring perfect for Pavlo. But there are 2 things that bothering me like Pavlo doesn't tell his past about his birth family to Saint. They are mates and I think Saint need to know about Pavlo's past and Hector's attitude makes me think he's being a threat to STAHP. Turns out, Hector has a hard time accepting Saint's different leadership. Nevertheless, I loved it!
I am so excited to see where Saint takes STAHP. Its going to be one hell of a ride as they make their way from all gray, to black and white with a bit of gray mixed in, but I can't wait to see what happens next. Crista and Susi have done an amazing job with this whole series and all the spinoffs, and managed to keep everything perfectly intertwined without making it overwhelming.
I absolutely love an author who can keep you on your toes throughout a book, allowing a reader to experience multiple feelings. And Susi and Christa do just that.
We already knew how sweet Pavlo is, and to pair him with Saint - Too Perfect. I can't wait to continue exploring the new STAHP series with tnem. Especially with the new direction Saint is leading the STAHP organization.
I don't know if I have just read too many books from Chicago shifter world in a row but this was really boring to me. I wanted so much more for Pavlo. Like crazy passion and fireworks or something. Saint was bad but he was just so mellow. I was also hoping for another blessing ceremony since Pavlo was an honorary Novak. I am going to take a breather for a minute before reading the other STAHP book just in case I am suffering from some burn out.
Another great series in the Team Alpha shifterverse. Antonio Montoya has decided to step down as head of STAHP and annoint his brother Santiago to replace him. Santiago wants to make major changes in the organization, but his efforts are complicated by meeting his true mate. Follow along as he struggles to balance mating life with trying to make major changes in the way his men handle their cases.
I was looking forward to this one, and although it was good, it fell a bit flat for me. Not sure why, except maybe there was not as much action in this one as the other series intertwined with this one.
I also felt that we still didn't get to know Pavlo as well as I'd have liked.
This story definitely warmed my heart and I was so happy that Pavlo found his mate, Santiago (beautiful name by the way) after having such a terrible past. The characters were so full of intriguing personalities and the writing was excellent. I loved the humorous moments and I enjoyed the feel of beloved family and friends. Overall, a very enjoyable and quite amusing read.
*WARNING* has adult m/m situations Saint in almost the exact opposite of his brother Antonio. Saint is the perfect heartfelt alpha for the damaged Pavlo. STAHP needs more characters like Saint. I like that the rules of STAHP are changing. I like that Antonio has stepped down. This is a sweet Insta love story with a HEA.
Saint and Pavol has overcome so much, it was a very great fairy tale. They both deserve. I can't wait to see more to come from there mating. I'm actually sad that in this story that some. The beauty of Nacho didn't get scented Or maybe scent his mate perhaps we get to see that very so.
