Normally I hate when things are unresolved at the end of the book but here I didn't even care. Yes a strange eay to start a review but just had to throw it out there.
Imagine being a 31 year old with a fascination for the supernatural (hmmm hard leep for me 😜). You run a blog and take pictures of supposedly haunted places. One night you come across the very hot tableau of two men kissing that makes your blood boil. Not just that but then the hottest man you ever met helps you when your purse gets snatched and escorts your home.
Later that night you find out that he's a vampire, sorry Vampire King, oh you were attacked by werewolves and man that's a lot of blood.
Intrigued? You should be.
Not going to spoil the rest of the plot but rest assured that I'm keeping an eye out for the next part of this series. The writing is fun, the characters intriguing enough that I want to know more which I guess is the purpose of a prequel.
So if you have the time and inclination I definitely recommend you put this on your want to read list.

I loved Vex and Leena! Leena is quirky and different than anyone Vex has ever met. She brings him a calmness he hasn't had in a very long time. Vex is everything Leena needs in her life. Excitement, mystery and a whole lot of attraction. But, will they be able to make things work? Can the vampire king find love with a human? I don't know, but I can't wait to find out in the next book! This is an awesome set up for the shared universe and I look forward to reading all of them!

I really enjoyed this book. It will take you on a short fast ride, filled with vampires, wolves and humans.
We first meet Vex who we see buying a property off a dragon. When he eventually sees a pink haired temptress who we also get to see her pov. Leena we meet walking away after taking pictures of two hot men, to then bump into one.
From here we see Leena and Vex go through quite a few crazy twists, especially Vex to end the book on a little cliff needing to know what will happen to them.

This is a must-read if you love your vampire stories with grit and loads of sex appeal. Vex and Leena <3 Swoon to the tenth power. Readers, there will be a FULL BOOK with these two. Yes! Because after that kiss. We need it. I read that liplock a few times…strictly for book reviewing purposes. This story is amazing. From the original world-building to the sit at the edge of your seat plot pacing. Did I mention the kissing? HOT. On to the characters, Leena is a quirky teacher by day and a blogger by night. She is different than anyone Vex, king of the vampires has ever encountered. Vex is everything Leena desires. Mystery, killer looks, and danger. When their worlds collide, fate seems hell-bent on dividing these two. From the underground, paranormal fight ring to the missing children, vampire murders, and yes, the kissing, this author takes you on an amazing journey. I finished this story in one sitting. I cannot wait for their book!

First of all, I love a prequel that actually comes out first instead of some long-off afterthought by the author when the series/novel proved successful. Lena is a woman of today's world, pink hair, don't care, has her own career, loves men but doesn't need one, you get the idea. She is funny and witty and you'll want to date her yourself until you learn you'd have to fight a vampire for her affection. When will Vex and Lena be paired up for forever? Well, the full novel in this shared world of all the creatures that go bump in the night is coming out in March.
TK Barber is excellent at dark and delicious (but you'll love her rom-coms too!) WHAT she really excels at is the supporting cast. In all her novels everyone plays a part and has sustenance. I Don't expect her novels in the Mobsters & Monsters Series to be any different.

Visions of the vampire is a short, sweet and funny book that made me smile a lot. The cover looks nice and the blurb is nicely done. The ideea of the story got me to read it, that and the fact that I haven't read a vampire book in a long time. Leena was so quirky and adorable and I liked her from the begining. Vex was interestig, a gentelman that could be so scary sometimes.
The chemistry between them was nice but I was getting angry at Vex when he didn't get the hints from Leena.
The side characters were written so good and they bring a lot to the story.

I loved Vex the sexy vampire king and Leena a human who has a supernatural blog she’s determined to prove the existence of the paranormal, sorry guys I can’t in good conscience give any spoilers but you will miss out on a brilliant series if you don’t read it yourself. I have preordered the other books in this series of Mobsters and Monsters and I’m looking forward to reading each and every one of them plus they are all written by different authors so you will have different writing styles. Brilliant story I loved it and I definitely recommend this book/ series.

Visions of the Vampire by T.K. Barber. Vex and Leena bring you a riveting slow burn vampire romance with strong willed and feisty characters, charming yet witty banter, and fantastic drama that will reel you in and hold you mesmerized until the end. Story is considered a novella and can be read in one sitting (IMO). I enjoyed it and would recommend it to others. This story is full on from start to finish and really entertaining.
The characters are developing well in this the third book and the story is getting better all the time.
This book can be read on its own but probably better to read the whole story.
Get the book you will not be disappointed.

Not your average vampire story. TK Barber weaves a tale of love and loss, loyalty and betrayal, and the deep seated need of every creature to be wanted and loved. This is a pnr story, but it’s so much more than that. The pace keeps you glued to the page, while the prose slips into your mind like you’re living the story. Five stars! Can’t wait for the next book.

Such a tease of a prequel! You fall in love with the main characters and become enthralled in the past, present and future. I love vampires with a heart that understand the feral nature they have. Plenty of supernaturals to keep this world alive for awhile and give plenty of twists. Excited to read more!

The characters are engaging and well developed with plenty of chemistry throughout the pages and a storyline that flowed smoothly and easily.

This was a short, intriguing read. The characters were very likable and the antics drew into the story. The story was well-written and very entertaining. Looking forward for more from this author.

Vex the Vampire King helps Leena, a teacher,who writes a supernatural blog and a strange and wonderful partnership evolves. I loved this book! A strong,kind of innocent woman with a good head on her shoulders. A quirky Vampire- Leena's still trying to prove they actually exist -that's as smart as she is and T.K. Barber takes my favorite paranormal trope into a new realm. Yes, if this is how to "treat a lady" I'm in, BIG time. Highly Recommended 5/5

Yup. That quote sums up the tone of this cheeky, delicious prequel novella that rocked my socks off. I L O V E the supernatural world created for this series. If these rich prequels are any indication, the full series is going to offer PNR perfection!
On to Vex and Leena. God. They are fated and I am here for it. So much is in their way, so to see them come together in the novel will be AMAZING. He is debonair and beyond delicious. She is quirky and sweet and the perfect balance for Vex. I fell hard for these two, and can't wait to keep falling. Truly. I will keep going back to this one.
