One Lie Too Many is the first book in the Rockford Security Mystery Series.

Blake Rockford is a fantastic , complex, flawed character. This is a very suspenseful mystery.

Blake's on his first case, which surprisingly turns into a murder.

Blake and the gang are investigating. There are multiple twists and turns.

But the end was SHOCKING. This was such an well written, multi-dimensional story.

Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

What a way to start a new series! Blake Rockford is a former cop and head of the Rockford Security Agency, which employs almost all the Rockford siblings and a few others. This first mystery requires the security agency, hired to provide security for a rock concert, to solve a murder mystery. It has so many twists and turns and so many suspects to choose from. They are also trying to get the murderer before the cops arrest the wrong person. The characters are strong, and the plot is terrific. I really enjoyed the new book from L A Dobbs and look forward to reading more of this series!

This is the first book in the series. After two new books were added, the numbering changed. This is a new book with the older books being bumped down to start at 3.

This book is a good start to the series. It tells us how Blake’s family security firm begins. Their first major security job is a music festival. Unfortunately, there have been a lot of equipment robberies. The lead singer is found dead and the mystery begins in earnest.

I found the mystery to be interesting and full of plot twists. The characters are flawed but strong. Looking forward to the next installment.

I was given an advanced reader’s copy and am not required to leave a positive review.

Blake Rockford accepted a security job for his company for a music festival that has multiple stages and bands. His firm was hired after a series of thefts that happened on the previous firms watch.

Things get complicated when Liv, one of Blakes sisters and trainer for all Rockford Security employees finds the body of one of the bands lead singers.

Now he’s not only out to solve the thefts, but also the death that may or may not be a murder.

A fun story with defined characters and a solid mystery.

This is a clean read that is steady paced with a nice number of clues to let you try and figure out the criminals yourself.

After Blake Rockford loses his wife in a tragic officer accident, he starts his own security company, Rockford Security. Rockford Security involves all of the Rockford siblings. Their first security job is providing security for a music festival. It seems there have been several equipment robberies at the festival. Liv Rockford who provides training for the Rockfords finds the body of a lead singer of The Talking Frogs. Was it an accident or murder? This is a well written book with lots of suspense and a surprise ending.
I enjoyed watching all of the characters develop. This appears to be a great new series. A must read!!

This is the first book in a new series about the Rockford Security company. Blake Rockford lost his wife in a tragic accident and he's just getting back on his feet. He's formed a security company with all of his siblings and they've been hired to provide security at a rock festival. It's their first big job and they need to prove themselves but the job goes from keeping an eye on music equipment from being stolen to solving a murder.

I thought this was a good start for the series. We get to meet all the Rockford siblings and what their jobs are in the company, along with some background on Blake. There were quite a few suspects and a couple of twists until we finally find out what happened. I'm interested enough to read the next book in the series.

This is the 1st book of a new series, that takes us back to the beginning of Rockford Security.
Blake and his family are just getting their security company going, and get a huge gig providing security for a music festival. It seems the festival has a rash of musical equipment robberies.
The lead singer of one of the bands is found dead behind a tent, in what appears to be a tragic accident. Or, was it an accident at all??
Blake and the family have their hands full trying to keep fights from breaking out, and thieves from breaking in.
Keeps you guessing until the very end.

After Blake Rockford’s wife died, he left the police force and started a security company with his family and friends. Their first big job was security at a music festival, they were replacements because of the equipment thefts under the previous company but Blake’s team was told not to investigate by the smarmy festival organizer. But when one of the attractions lead singer is killed, Blake can’t ignore it but he’d rather deal with the over-inflated ego of his police detective nemesis.

I really liked the Sam Mason series and with that in mind began this one.
In my opinion this first entry doesn’t measure up and I’m not pressing on. I don’t care for Blake, the head of Rockford Security. There was predictablities along the way and the ending was predictable . And there was the inconsistency of Steve from Purple Strawberry being taken into custody twice in order to make confrontations happen.
Too many other choices out there.

One !ie Too Many (1)

This series is going to be a good bit different from the last series I read by MS Dobbs. This Series works with a family in the Security business. Each member of the family has a specific job in the family security business. I am looking forward to the next in this series.

One Lie Too Many

Rockford Security has it's first big gig. They start off with a lot of previous thefts, then an accidental death. Their jobs hindered by a cop Blake had worked with that was mediocre with an attitude, they solve the cases of theft and the death. The youngest of the Siblings, Garrett is allowed out in the field and did well. Great storyline, well written.

Rockford Security accepts a job of the Festival security and wind up in mid murder.

The family accepts the job of watching over the security at the festival and wind up trying to solve the murder of a lead singer. The cops are doing their best to block them but they investigate anyway

Rockford Security Mysteries

Almost perfect! The storyline - excellent, characters - memorable. Two little things just nagged at me. Spelling ('cause I'm a grammar Nazi) and the ending seemed a little rushed. Looking forward to book two.

DNF at 40%
I tried, but..Thinly drawn, stereotypical characters. The MC an overbearing alpha (of course with a tragic past) using “family as an excuse for everything. A big stretch to tie the agency into the first death and subsequent investigation.
Not recommended.

acceptable who-and-why-dun-it

No shortage of jerks in this story - and stalwart Rockford Security has its work cut out for it, if my suspicions play out.

But I could be wrong. Time will tell.

Have we heard the last of the Talking Frogs?

A great read for the start of a great mystery series. With twists and turns a plenty. So buckle up for a ride to remember, and see where Blake of Rockford Security takes you in this who-done-it mystery and see if you can solve the mystery before he does!

Good mystery

Establishing the characters for this series seems to be accomplished. The murderer was not quite hidden until the end but still a good book. Let's see what the second book is like!

One Lie Too Msny

I've read other works from this author and decided to read as mother one of her series. However too many characters, did not remember who was who or what. I guessed who the villain was too easily.

Not my type

Its a good story, I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 it just didn't catch me. It certainly may for many others. It does have action, decent characters, decent story line. If this is your genre it is worth reading and might become your favorite

Beginning of the Rockford Security series although it was published after the others in the series. It is a good mystery series without a lot of graphic detail in murders, swearing or sex.

Not really a mystery

After reading the last series of books I found this one very disappointing. It didn’t read like a mystery and the writing was not as good.
