Albert Ellis was an American psychologist who in 1955 developed Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). He held M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in clinical psychology from Columbia University and American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). He also founded and was the President of the New York City-based Albert Ellis Institute for decades.
He is generally considered to be one of the originators of the cognitive revolutionary paradigm shift in psychotherapy and the founder of cognitive-behavioral therapies. Based on a 1982 professional survey of USA and Canadian psychologists, he was considered as the second most influential psychotherapist in history (Carl Rogers ranked first in the survey; Sigmund Freud was ranked third).

As much as I dislike my first impressions of the the man (Ellis) and post-modern philosophy, this seems a solid and well adaptive approach (seemingly adaptive and mostly compatible to my God fearing ideals as well).

Okay-ish cartea.

Honest, straight forward practicable information written in a way that makes this therapeutic style accessible to everyone. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it as a good recourse in any personal library.

Really good book that helps to discover and change irrational beliefs to rational ones. AxB=C (Action x Beliefs = Consequences). Alber Ellis helps to understand that human's mind can not describe itself objectively - it needs feedback from outside.

Extremely helpful in the development of my theoretical orientation/clinical counseling skills.
