TL;DR I hate Tristan and his Trusty Trio too much and so I won’t be continuing with the series. I cannot stand him/them as a love interest(s). I am done.

So even if he stood by watching when kian was getting raped, even if he blamed Kian for being raped, Sera will eventually ‘forgive� him and ‘love� him as her mate. That’s a big fucking no from me. He is disgusting. I would rather swallow bleach than read about Sera and Tristan going at it. Fuck. Him. So yeah. No matter how much I love Kian, the twins and V, I will stop after this book. I’m glad she didn’t get kidnapped. I am so so glad. The fact that she fought him and won is the reason I will give this book an extra star from its current one star rating. I like Sera. Apart from her love for the trio, I love most things about her. Can’t say everything cause I dislike the color pink and glittery things with a small passion.

Done. Needless to say I have gone through a rollercoaster of emotions while reading this. Majority of which was hate and disgust towards the trio.
In the end the book went from a tolerable fun read to an annoying fun read. My hate towards the trio on one side and my love for Sera and the other four on the other side. Sadly though its not a balanced act. Even though the ‘love� characters outnumbers the ‘hate� characters, I cannot read 200+ pages about a couple I hate. Or I guess couples here.
Tristan, Gage and Foster. I cannot and I will not read about how they live happily ever after sooner or later. So despite my need to read more of V, despite my need to read a Dev-Sera-Xan, I will not be continuing with the series.
At the end of the day this book/series would’ve been wonderful if they’d just made the twins, Kian and V her harem. You know I don’t think I’ve ever read an RH where a person we think is going to be a harem member ends up not being in it. If only that happened in this book.

I was anxiously awaiting the release of book two in the Fae Revealed series since I read the first. It has been a LONG time since I waited until midnight on release day for a book. I’m stingy with my stars, but this is a solid 5/5 and I hope the paperback releases soon (or at all) so I can add it to my bookshelf.
Serafina continues to be a badass while fighting her limitations and never for one minute do we lose her personality no matter what emotions she’s experiencing. For this being in the fantasy genre, it’s amazing to me how “real� she feels. It’s hard to not compare books, especially RH books as they so often can blend together with similar tropes and basic character types, but I can confidently say she is one of my favorite FMCs as she manages to be one of the most unique characters, even in comparison to other stabby heroines I love. Seeing how fiercely she defended Kian had me feeling all the feels!
One of the criticisms I had about the last book was that some of the male characters did not feel fleshed out enough to me. That was rectified in this sequel. Even with short POV chapters, there is so much depth to the men added (without it being all laid out)—I can’t wait to get to know them better in the next book. I specifically am hoping for more scenes with Xander, I’m so ready to see their relationship develop. I wish I could’ve had more POV scenes with him, but I feel it’s definitely the right call to save that for the next book. The continuing tension is nice and it’ll be worth waiting for when they have their moment.
Devyn’s personality came through a lot more as well, and I loved seeing how protective he was of Sera.
V was a great addition to this book! He matches Sera’s stabby nature and it was truly hilarious seeing their dynamic and everyone’s reaction to it. (Y’all fuckin killed me with “nipple boners� lmfao.)
Kian� poor sweet baby angel Kian. I hated Tristan so much at the end of the last book, but going forward I have hope he (and Gage and Foster) can rebuild that friendship with Kian.
Tristan was challenged by Gage and Foster in this book on his way of thinking, assuming that Sera was his after they were intimate, and it was satisfying seeing him knocked down a peg, not gonna lie. He was humbled a lot in this book, and that makes for great character growth on his part going forward.
I think given everything that went down along with his home life drama, Foster is definitely going to flip shit soon. He is the prime example for what I was saying about even a short POV added so much depth to their character. I know what it’s like having to be the mediator or the calm one or the strong one, ultimately the caretaker of those who should be taking care of you—or at least those who should be doing some of the heavy lifting here or there. I am that with my family. Big sister to my little brother, big sister to my big sister, the one who carries family burden and secrets, from all members, because I am strong enough to handle it and be the rock when they need it. I can’t imagine not being that person, but sometimes it gets heavy and it’s hard to push back the bitterness or resentment (or guilt for feeling those things). It’s hard sometimes to always keep my emotions in check when sometimes I want the ability to break down. So again, I relate so hard to his character and I think his temper is going to flare in a big way next book and he’s going to unload all the shit he’s been dealing with. I don’t know how explosive that will be, but it definitely needs to happen, for his sake.
As always, I love the sibling dynamic with Maddox and Caleb. They are still overprotective assholes and I love love love how much they care about their sister. The whole family, really. They’re not perfect and are clearly atypical, but it just works so well. I had a hunch about Avril, and I was right. Gah, that felt good to see. Candy is still a twat and I can’t wait for her to get put in her place.
The writing was strong and the plot feels well thought out, and there was a lot more mystery and intrigue in this book. The reason I emphasize the characters so much is because they are arguably what makes this series so great.
Katie and Quinn really came through with a great sequel and it was well worth all the anticipation! Once again, I am absolutely reeling from that cliffhanger. No spoilers, but we finally know what Sera is and now I’m filled with so many theories and questions � I can’t wait for what’s next!

Not as entertaining as book 1, it was okay but I can tell that book 3 is going to be disappointing so I’m dnf-ing the rest of the series for now.

The first one was so good. I just felt that the pace of this was off and some of the character development didn’t make for an enjoyable read. V in particular has a very dodgy moral compass which, as much as I love a bad boy there’s a difference between a Loki type character and Heath Ledgers Joker. A lot of the book seems to back pedal on his psycho intro while making our MCs crazy match his. (surprise! She knows how to skin people) to make room for the new love interest most of the characters in book one are sidelined or turned in to A-holes with an abused/ traumatic backstory

3.5 stars. I love me some sociopathic men, and V did that. He is literally the female version of Sera, but 10x crazier. And he becomes possessive over Sera literally right when he met her, and he calls her KITTEN. I think I may be the only person that loves that name, but I really loved it here. And I love that Sera calls him any name that starts with the letter V, like veronica, vagina, Valerie. There wasn't as much flirting with Xander aka Mr. Grayson which was a little disappointing, but there was Kian retribution, and I was HERE FOR IT. We got to see more of his sweet, cute, nervous side and I loved it. And there was some flirting with the other guys, but the focus was definitely on V and Kian which I do not mind at all. We got to learn more about the fae world, Sera's past and species type. There were some moments with the serial killer that we got to see. There was mending friendships, and a mini cliffhanger which I'm excited to see where it goes.

Yeah, V seriously pissed me off at first with his misogynistic treatment towards Sera, even though I loved his crazy 😂, but he won me over in the end. And Tristan! He was SERIOUSLY trying my patience with him in this book. Don’t know if I can for give him 😒�
Anyway, this book had even more interesting plot twists, though I wish I was actually seeing relationship developing between Sera and the guys� definitely want to read the next book in the future though. Katie May and Quinn Arthurs are SERIOUSLY good at cliffhangers.
Anyway, this book had even more interesting plot twists, though I wish I was actually seeing relationship developing between Sera and the guys� definitely want to read the next book in the future though. Katie May and Quinn Arthurs are SERIOUSLY good at cliffhangers.

***TRIGGER WARNING: Lots of violence and blood. Continued storyline of a serial killer in the background who targets young women and cuts them up before killing them as some kind of ritual sacrifice. There's a scene where one of the victims temporarily survives the attack and has her memory of the event recounted via magical projection. Hints of child abuse for one of the guys in his past; I'm sure that'll be touched on again in more detail in the next book. Kian's history of sexual abuse is given some closure when he gets cornered by his "mentor", he gets slapped around and threatened, and then the heroine comes in to take care of that bitch. 💅 More talk about the heroine living with a chronic illness and what it was like to be confined to a wheelchair when she was younger, including vague talk about considering suicide. Once again, there's probably more that I'm forgetting, so check other reviews just in case you need more information. ***
Sweet baby angel Kian finally got away from his abuser! 😭 I was so relieved for him when that finally happened and that the heroine was the one to save him. My only (HUGE) complaint is that we never got to see that rapist bitch get tortured and skinned. 😞 The other guys are obviously horrified at what happened to Kian and for dropping him as a friend after he presented as incubus, but there needs to be more groveling; they've reached a tentative truce for now. Tristan was the first to approach Kian with apologies and it was gratifying to see Kian saying that he doesn't think he'd be able to forgive him. So many times I see forgiveness being doled out so fast that I feel whiplash from the characters' emotions and I feel cheated of seeing real emotions from a promising situation. And Kian's parents...I really hope we at least hear about them getting some kind of punishment for their own neglect of him. They also stood firmly by the stereotype that all incubi want sex and didn't bat an eye when his "mentor" started his training at 13. Give me a fucking break. Just because he's revealed to be an incubus does NOT override the fact that he's a child! 😤😤😤 Anyway...
The new addition to the harem is V, who I really did not like when his first POV chapter came; while he was too rough at some points with the heroine, he acted like a psycho --in a good way-- but his narration didn't quite match up and he was rather disgusting, in a teenage boy way. He mentions doing something that didn't sit well with me until I got to a later part and realized he's just an inconsiderate asshole, which, to be fair, he mentions upfront that he doesn't care about people's feelings. After getting used to his more abrasive personality and seeing how fast he got possessive of the heroine, he quickly grew on me like a mold and I think he's fighting for favorite with Kian. My favorite moment was when he was with the heroine, they ran into Kian, and V took out his bloody knife and licked it while just staring at Kian, presumably to try to scare him away from the heroine. (The knife was bloody because they were just sparring/training and I'm pretty sure it was his own blood?)
The maturity differences between all the guys in the harem is a little concerning and honestly distracting. Tristan is supposed to be an alpha wolf but he is in NO WAY close to being Alpha-type, not even Beta or whatever's below Beta. Aside from how awfully he treated Kian, he comes across as still being in middle school, especially with his hypocritical, misogynistic view at a certain point in the book (he gets corrected by his older brother 👊💢). I'd say Gage and Foster are age-appropriate in terms of maturity, but mixing that all in with three older guys who are all darker makes them seem less mature. I'm really hoping to see some more groveling and character development from Tristan or he's going to keep feeling like a growth that needs to be lopped-off for the rest of the harem to thrive.

It's been a while, at least it feels like that, since I've read the first book in the series. I was actually planning on reading this sequel in April for the Magical Readathon, but for some reason it didn't happen. However, yesterday I was looking for a new book to read and all of a sudden I noticed this one again and I knew this was the one I was gonna pick up. Especially because I really loved the first book in the series so much!
Don't get me wrong. I know that when it comes to the disability rep the author isn't perfect. However, May is one of the few Reverse Harem authors including disabled main characters in her books, giving me the feeling that I could find my own harem too. And that this teenage girl sees ending up in a wheelchair as the end of the world, and no one tells or shows her it's not, is a minor detail I'm therefore happy to overlook.
Especially because this book does an amazing job dealing with sexual assault and rape. In this case it's been happening to one of her guys. We already figured that out in the first book and we also know how people reacted on his story. I'm so glad he finally got the justice he deserved! I'm so glad everyone, including the people who were supposed to be his friend, see how wrong they've been and how stupid they've been. And I'm glad May shows that it can also happen to guys, especially because of prejudice and especially when the other is someone in power.

This series is very reminiscent of the Veil Diaries, which I don’t know that I necessarily dislike that. I loved the Veil Diaries at the beginning, so I was up for something in the same vein as that.
The MC is likable, a badass, with a terminal desease (maybe), a quirky/crazy but loving family, and some depth to her. The guys in the harem are ok, there are too many of them with some being more interesting than others. Author tries to give them some background and depth but I was meh about them.
The part it fell flat to me is the insta love. She is their mate, so no development there. The relationships are kind of flat and not that interesting. A member of the harem is not introduced until the beginning of book 2, and his intro and character was sudden and different which felt disjointed (don’t get me wrong, I ended up liking him better than other harem members, it was just a weird intro).
There are some good opportunities for face slapping that the author hasn’t acted up on yet (as of book 3), so that feels like a miss. The big bad of books 1 and 2 becomes unimportant in book 3 (they were just a pawn).
The story itself is a bit predictable (desease morphing into super special snowflake). But I have to say I enjoyed it enough to read the available books in one go. It’s just not reread material, and I might pick up the next book in the series at some point, but I am in no rush.

Ooh, I love this, drama, action, mystery, a lot of and the spice🔥. I kinda thought she might've been some kind of shapeshifter, but a skinwalker nope. I like that Tristan is on a leash now, he should feel horrible and is knocked down a peg. Those three boys should know better not to judge a book by its cover. I get this book surrounded Kian mostly but I wanted more of Xander. The storytelling of this book is amazing, it's well-written. I have a feeling that this serial killer has something to do with why Seraphina was left as an infant, and maybe all those previous kills were because he was looking for her.

A book of revelations! Sera is slowly discovering who and what she is when at the same time a murderer gets closer and closer. And then there are the guys: I like Kian, Devyn, Xander and V. The others need to grow up or at least make up for their mistakes. However, all have well developed backsstories, personalities and unique characteristics beyond just their species. That's not always the case in RH but done well in this series. We end with another plot twist, so looking forward to the next book.

So this series is shaping up to be really intriguing! The FMC is absolutely kick a&& and her harem is totally a mix of undying devotion and total psycho as in a few of them are completely psychopathic! But it works because Sera is as well!! The chemistry between her and V oh and Xander is off the charts! And her other men are developing nicely!

I gave this book/series thus far 3 not 5 stars because once again this author has incorporated an aspect that is abhorrent. This is the second book I’ve read of hers where a minor has been raped by an adult. And this time it was worse because the child was 13!!!! That is absolutely disgusting. Sera’s poor guy had to endure years of abuse from the age of 13! The author tries to justify this plot line by making him an incubus (a Fae that feeds off of sex and lust) but the fact that we find out that the sex/lust part of feeding could’ve been sated some other way only makes this “oh he’s an incubus he needs it� an excuse to justify that the author wrote in the rape of a child! I really really disliked, to the point of pure disgust, this plot line. Kian could’ve been in pain due to being objectified or used by girls HIS OWN AGE (not that that would’ve been right) but it would’ve been worlds better than being raped by an adult!! And once again (like the other book I read of hers) he was raped by a teacher! What the heck?! Why is this an ongoing theme in her books?

I am LOVING this series so far. I love how strong and psychotic Sera is. I’m glad that we finally learn what she is even though I have more questions than I had before.
These men are totally swoon worthy. They are super possessive and protective of Sera and I love that! V is all of that, but the most psychotic 🥵

I need book 3
Great series! No one is perfect, emotions are raw and terrible subjects are honestly addressed. I can appreciate that, even nestled in a paranormal reverse harem romance.

Honestly, I'm kind of bummed that this book was so meh to me :/ Especially, because the first one was pretty fun.
Here are the issues that I had with this one:
1.) The new addition to the harem aka "V" was REALLY iffy to me and I personally didn't know how to feel about him.
On one hand, I appreciated the new dynamic this character brought. He's funny, is practically psycho, and is a perfect match to the fl. Also, I kind of like how unapologetic he is (e.g having the balls to push back Seraph after she pushed him, not going easy on her just because she's a girl, etc).
While on the other hand, he confused me and his personality seemed all over the place. When we are first introduced to him, he literally says he doesn't feel emotions and doesn't care about people. Yet, afterwards, he calls her kitten and is immediately intrigued by her. Then proceedingly gets protective over her.
2.) The story is proceeding way too slowly.
I get that there's 7 ml's involved so things are going at a slow pace to juggle all the ml's, the fl, and the actual story. But I wish there was more focus on the murders that have been happening and the mystery behind it all. I wish there was more violence or action happening to really emphasize the gravity of the situation of the killer.
3.) Some of the ml's getting sidelined in favor of other ones.
Once again, I get that it's nearly impossible to juggle 7 ml's all at once. But it was apparent that V and Kian were most prioritized for this book, and I just wished the others weren't put in the back burner as a consequence. There needs to be a balance where it doesn't seem like the other ml's are ignored, while focusing on Kian's development and V's new relationship with Seraph.
4.) Tired of getting mentions of ow/om.
This issue has been bothering me since the first book, but it's getting exhausting having to deal with characters like Candy, Rebecca, and the hoards of people who have a crush on the ml's. There's so many other things to focus on, so I feel like constantly mentioning ow/om is pointless.
A good example is how immediately within the first pov for V, he looks at a dude and wonders if he's f*cked him in the past, then looks at a much older dude and is sure he hadn't f*cked him, then thinks about all of the men and women who don't hold a candle to Seraph. Like??? What was the point of all of this?
I don't want a ml to be thinking about having s*x with someone, when it's clear he's instantly into the fl.....
It's such a turn off to me.

Do I think Gage and Foster are in the wrong for not standing up against Tristan and just going a long with whatever he does? Yes.
But to play devil's advocate, they're not mind readers who can immediately dissect and understand what Kian's going through just from seeing his face.
This isn't an excuse for their actions, more like trying to see their point of view.
If I were Tristan, Foster, or Gage, I'm not saying I would've done what they did. But I understand their feelings and reactions when I put myself in their point of view.
If they'd KNOWN what Kian was going through, they obviously wouldn't have done any of the things they did. It's not Kian's fault for not outwardly telling them that he was being assaulted, manipulated, and r*ped, but I also don't think it's the guys' faults for not knowing what happened to Kian from physical appearance alone when it's apparent that Kian was pressured into faking things. They def should've questioned Kian or checked in with him, but at the end of the day they're not obligated to just assume their friend is faking his happiness and dissect through his fake facade. Just my 2 cents.
On a closing note, I probably won't be continuing to the next installments. Unfortunately......

Good but too slow

This story is dragging.
I really enjoyed the first book. I loved how the lead defied stereotypes by being the bubbly girly-girl with a real skill for being vicious. It's been done before but typically its one of those FMCs who are supposed to be anti-heroes. Usually having a dark history and the plots will revolve around murder sprees. Whereas here the lead has issues but emotionally and spiritually she's healthy and she has a loving, though unconventional, family.
But the first book and its sequel are viciously slow. If I remember correctly, the first book also spanned around a week just like this one. And yet relationships and behaviours are highly developed as if she didn't just move to town and have her understanding of her life changed. And where these have developed unnaturally fast, the story is going at a snails pace. Its not as if anything is truly shocking either that it needs to be withheld from the reader for shock value. The reveal in the final chapters of her supe type I predicted at the end of the first book. Yes, I'm a fantasy nerd and have a better understanding of types of supernatural creatures, but you didn't really need the title to understand her powers. The only thing the long reveal served was to frustrate all for a title and some lore specific to this series regarding what she is (I'd state it, but spoilers for those who care).
I liked the addition of V, if anything he was a more dynamic character than the other guys (excluding Kian). Where all the males followed the typical harem format, each fitting into the archetypes the RH genre has established, the introduction of V at least brought in a personality usually reserved to other sub-genres of RH. That's not to say the males aren't interesting developed characters, and things are done in a way that is slightly different than is the norm. However, they are very cookie cutter. Everyone seems to have some emotional hangups and its laid out in a way that feels like character traits were being checked off a list. I don't understand why everyone needed to have some emotional trauma that seemed to prematurely mature them.
There are seven guys now, which is excessive for the length of these books, and 4/7 have clear traumatic histories and three aren't even 18 yet. Don't even get me started on the age gaps. I wish she was at the very least in college so I could wrap my head around it, but teacher and age-gap relationships for the FMCs age group just come across skeezy. With half the harem being highschool aged also its even worse. It's trying too hard to include every type of romance novel relationship in this harem. I like all the guys, but the impact is damaged by trying to wrap your head around everyone. Individuals are forgotten and fall through the cracks. If she were older and the entire cast of characters were the FMC and her harem nearly exclusively it could work. Here it doesn't because there is her family, friends, bad guys, political figures, and brief mentions of the harem's families. It's too much. Adding multiple POVs and writing filler chapters to represent the harem members to make it work just further slows down the story. I was skimming at points, and I shouldn't be skimming.
If I didn't think the characters were well written and the story wasn't compelling enough I'd have rated this 2 stars. As it stands, I like the story enough not to care that I already have a clear idea of where this plot is going. And there may be too many characters to keep track of, but they aren't one-dimensional. I just wish over 400 pages of reading had developed the primary plot more. The first two books should have been combined and the timeline streamlined in addition to some of the reveals being rearranged for better impact.
I will probably continue on, I just hope the pacing issue resolves itself.

This story is dragging.
I really enjoyed the first book. I loved how the lead defied stereotypes by being the bubbly girly-girl with a real skill for being vicious. It's been done before but typically its one of those FMCs who are supposed to be anti-heroes. Usually having a dark history and the plots will revolve around murder sprees. Whereas here the lead has issues but emotionally and spiritually she's healthy and she has a loving, though unconventional, family.
But the first book and its sequel are viciously slow. If I remember correctly, the first book also spanned around a week just like this one. And yet relationships and behaviours are highly developed as if she didn't just move to town and have her understanding of her life changed. And where these have developed unnaturally fast, the story is going at a snails pace. Its not as if anything is truly shocking either that it needs to be withheld from the reader for shock value. The reveal in the final chapters of her supe type I predicted at the end of the first book. Yes, I'm a fantasy nerd and have a better understanding of types of supernatural creatures, but you didn't really need the title to understand her powers. The only thing the long reveal served was to frustrate all for a title and some lore specific to this series regarding what she is (I'd state it, but spoilers for those who care).
I liked the addition of V, if anything he was a more dynamic character than the other guys (excluding Kian). Where all the males followed the typical harem format, each fitting into the archetypes the RH genre has established, the introduction of V at least brought in a personality usually reserved to other sub-genres of RH. That's not to say the males aren't interesting developed characters, and things are done in a way that is slightly different than is the norm. However, they are very cookie cutter. Everyone seems to have some emotional hangups and its laid out in a way that feels like character traits were being checked off a list. I don't understand why everyone needed to have some emotional trauma that seemed to prematurely mature them.
There are seven guys now, which is excessive for the length of these books, and 4/7 have clear traumatic histories and three aren't even 18 yet. Don't even get me started on the age gaps. I wish she was at the very least in college so I could wrap my head around it, but teacher and age-gap relationships for the FMCs age group just come across skeezy. With half the harem being highschool aged also its even worse. It's trying too hard to include every type of romance novel relationship in this harem. I like all the guys, but the impact is damaged by trying to wrap your head around everyone. Individuals are forgotten and fall through the cracks. If she were older and the entire cast of characters were the FMC and her harem nearly exclusively it could work. Here it doesn't because there is her family, friends, bad guys, political figures, and brief mentions of the harem's families. It's too much. I really knew better than to start an incomplete series, but thank God the cliffhanger at the end of this book was not as bad as the one at the end of book #1. If I'd had to deal with that one, I might have screamed and thrown my Kindle at the wall. Maybe.
So I immediately started this book after finishing book #1, due to aforementioned cliffhanger. I was NOT surprised at the revelation at all. Obviously something had to be done to make it okay for the guys to be with her. That part was a bit predictable, but it was interesting that even after the revelation, there is some mystery as to what she is... and her chronic illness also remains as much of a mystery as ever.
We are introduced to V, the prince of the fae. I mentioned in my review of The Cleanup (by Mila Sin and Manuela Rouget) that there seems to be a shift towards having at least one "psycho" character in RH nowadays, ever since Den of Vipers hit it big, and in this book, V is that token psycho. He's also the guy with a knife play / blood fetish -- he licks his own blood off knife blades -- so, um... if that's your kink, you might like him. He features very prominently in this book, as he has been appointed as a tutor for Sera.
So a scarred, scary guy who claims to never experience physical pain and doesn't have emotions inexplicably takes a liking to Sera and calls her "kitten". Mostly, I think, he's intrigued by her because she's not scared of him and she fights back, giving him as good as she gets. But yes, this guy who cares for no one starts feeling protective over her. Again, predictable and kinda ho-hum. This portrayal of Sera as the special snowflake whom everybody is automatically drawn to and can't help but love is often a problem in RH... like, she's this beacon whom no one can resist. Ah well, I will run with it because I don't like bully romances. It's better that they're drawn to her than that they hate her for whatever reason. ::sigh::
Kian also plays more of a role in this book. His story comes out, and it is heart-breaking. Tristan ended up in the doghouse with Sera. I already didn't like him very much from book #1 because it seemed to me he had a real problem with boundaries and was rather self-centred. In this book I liked him even less and thought he had a lot of growing up to do. I also didn't like Gage and Foster for being sheeple and following Tristan's lead. Especially Gage, who has experienced judgement and condemnation for his intimidating physical size and his "monster" -- he knows what it is like to have people make assumptions about who and what he is, yet he did it to Kian. Smh.
The serial killer plot amps up in this book. Of course, we all know he'll end up targeting Sera; that was another really predictable aspect of the plot. However, despite the plot being rather predictable, the book was still enjoyable reading.
I'll note that there's a trigger warning for sexual abuse of a minor, and it was unusual in the sense it was a male instead of a female child. To me, the issue was handled sensitively and I LOVE how protective and straight-up ragey Sera got over it. I'd have wanted to gut that horrible woman, too. Now, when does book #3 come out...?

That was not the kind of cliffhanger I was expecting....
I was expecting blood and gore, perhaps mass murder or the MC being severely injured.....
But no one has died, well no one of significance anyways... everyone important lives and breaths, the big revelation that occurs I had kinda guessed cause its a theme presented in most books.
So all in all, we are SHOWN that this character is baddass and knows her way with weapons instead of just told, though I can't say there wasn't a lot of telling, especially where the whips are involved. I nearly cried for what had happened to Kian, it pained me to hear the pain and torment he had suffered. The guy who was at the brink of death didn't die, though the other characters and the reader don't really know what MCs involvement was in his survival. Tristan is such a god damn puppy I swear to God he is adorable....but I'm angry at the fact he didn't see his best friend's suffering. Gabe's home life is breaking my heart, share the chocolate with him for fucks sake. Vagina is officially my favourite character, damn do I love him. He is so perfectly, beautifully psychotic. Shadow man is a pleasure to read about, his power intriguing me then again so does Vagina's since we don't know what it is yet.
I think that's all of them.... oh shit... I forgot Foster..... crap, ummm I like this fire cracker too...oooo and I want someone to realise the burden he carries, it seems like no one had yet.
I'm perfectly content in the way this book ended, I'm not dying for next release, but more so eagerly waiting to listen to more of this captivating story and I love it. The cliffhanger was enough to keep me intrigued but not so much as to drive me insane with curiosity and desperation to discover what happens next.

Good but�.
I am so glad I got to read this book. I loved that after about 19% of the way into the book, I was enthralled. I was so engaged that the next time I checked I was at 88%. The. I dreaded that the ending was coming. Because you know it’s going to be a cliffhanger.
The book and series are most definitely slow burn. I have no idea how long the series is going to be but if we only get a glimpse of one revelation (pun not intended) per book, I can see this taking forever. And this is the reason why I gave the book 4 stars instead of 5. While I was extremely engaged, even when the story was somewhat monotonous, there were so many more questions introduced. So many things that you can tell are going to be part of the plot that you know with one reveal per book, it’s going to end up longer than the Artemis University series. Which will cause me to lose interest. And that would be tragic because once you get into it, the author can tell a monotonous story without leaving me with the desire to skip to the end. And that is talent.
So all in all, I’m putting the next book on pre-order as soon as it’s available but I hope there is some movement on the plot instead of more mysteries added.
P. S. Yes I realized I basically described this book as captivating AND monotonous but it is. I can’t say exactly why, but there were times where it felt like Sera was going through and doing the same thing repeatedly. I’m annoyed with that as I look back on it now but while I was reading I only remember having one thought about the author needing to get in with it. So it really is both.

First off. Love this story and the world being built. Characters are 👌🏼👏🏼♥️
This is slow burn so even this second novel is fairly tame in that dept. another love interest is added.
And, while i am obsessed w this guy, i feel like there are already too many dudes to try and build her relationships up with. I feel like im not getting enough of certain dudes. I. Want. More. 🤣
Sera is a great fmc-honestly one of my all time faves at this point. There is a ton of unraveled for her and one of her men in this book. My fave scenes are with Sera and Kian. Swoon. Just. Swooooonnnn.
I am guessing they are doing more than three books? I have zero clue. Please let us know ladies!!!! This series so far is amazing!
Side note-That is def one of my peeves-not knowing how many books to expect in a series w cliffys. I prefer to see a clear trilogy or book 2 of five before getting into a series. I know it may hurt creative juices but most of the time i forget i even read the dang book by the time the next one arrives.
So when its not over, it cues me to add it to my notes of series I am reading not yet finished.
Yeah. Imma a book nerd. And a forgetful one at that.
