At the beginning of the story we are introduced to Olivia and Cain, brother and sister, and they are listening to a reading of their father's will. The will stipulates that Olivia must marry a man within six months or she has to forfeit the money he has left her.

Olivia has only ever been in love with one man, Morgan. But she isn't certain about his feelings for her. they had one moment together 10 years prior and then her father forced Morgan to stay away and he did. With Olivia's new timetable on marriage, she devises a plan to gain Morgan's attentions. Morgan of course has always been fascinated by Olivia, but believes she sees him as nothing more than a brother.

Can Morgan and Olivia overcome their past and find a way to be together?

I loved this book!!! It was funny, romantic and I couldn't help but fall in love with the main heroine and hero. Even though the story was set in 1850 (or somewhere around there) I felt like I understood Olivia and her desires. I found the exchanges between Olivia and Morgan to be so entertaining and amusing. Olivia's antics reminded me almost of Lucy from I Love Lucy (but sexier lol). I flew through this book, despite it being an E-book which can be annoying to read. I sat down and didn't get up again. I highly recommend reading this one!!!

The book starts out with the recent death of dear Olivia and Cain’s father. He was a wealthy man who split his estate between his son (and fiancée) and daughter - with one catch: she must wed a respectable man of the gentry within 6 months. Headstrong Olivia does NOT like this plan, especially when the love of her life (and brother’s best friend) does not meet her father’s criteria. Alas, Olivia is determined to win over Morgan, regardless of her father’s last wishes, if only Morgan would look at Olivia as more than a little sister. In order to win over Morgan, Olivia begins a quest to make him jealous by venturing to the local brothel to “observe and learn. Meanwhile, Morgan has loved Olivia for ten years and is nearly insane with desire. He wants Olivia to love him and determines to “help her in her endeavors. Morgan and Olivia enter into game of cat and mouse to try and win over the other.

I have to tell you that I usually hate it when couples hide their emotions from one another for silly reasons. I’m usually yelling “Grow up and just tell him/her you love them. But the intense sexual attraction between Olivia and Morgan kept me glued to this delightful tale. Their wicked games engrossed my life - keeping me up until all hours reading. The societal expectations of the times had me worried that they would be discovered as they toyed with and indulged in each other, drawing out their unspoken lust. The knowledge that there was a murderer in the mix had my heart racing. In short: this book had me hooked.

Finally I found a fun romantic historical, that I so enjoyed reading! The thing that’s going to make this review hardest for me to write is I want to tell it all its was so good, but I am not. Your going to have to read this excellent mystery with OMG hot erotic sex that includes some hot back door scenes. That’s not all the author gives you she gives you fun with one woman Olivia that wants to play reckless so she knows how to please a man and be pleased to. Needless to say that didn’t set well with some. Then everything backfires on Olivia. Then you get two women Olivia and Lark piloting behind the mens backs (oh ya, that was fun).

Olivia’s brother Cain and his fiancé Lark is a joy to read. I found Morgan a little laxed in the way he goes about his felling with Olivia, but it didn’t get on my nerves.

When Olivia's father died, he put in his will that she was to marry a rich well to do man or live under her brother's care for the rest of her life. As a strong-willed woman she could not handle this and decided to take matters into her own hands. The problem was, she did not want to marry just anyone she wanted to marry Morgan, who had been previously rebuked by her father. So she decided to set up an elaborate plan to steal his heart. In this elaborate game Morgan and Olivia dance back and forth trying to one-up each other. Can they both stop playing long enough to acknowledge the love between them? You will just have to read this book to find out.
I highly recommend this romantic, mystery, thriller. The characters are believable, the erotic scenes are woven into the plot masterfully and while hot are not overwhelming. The heroine is strong, the hero a hunk and, mystery killer haunts the pages skillfully with his black roses. This is an all around good pick for anyone who likes, romance, thrillers, mystery, or historical fiction.

A good (naughty) mystery and romance!

Decadent Deceptions pits vivacious and strong-willed Olivia Breedlove against her brother—who really wants the best for her—and the man she’s loved since childhood, Morgan Gatewood. Though they loved each other, Morgan was banished years ago because he kissed Olivia but his reputation as a rake makes him unsuitable for marriage. Now he’s back and Olivia has set her sights on him. She has a very unusual plan to bring him around to her plans—which involve a lifetime of loving.

Such a good book! Keta Diablo’s writing is great, and she instills such emotion in her characters. And I can’t forget to say that the story is very sensual. Very! Highly recommended!

I am been hitting pay-dirt these past couple months! Serious luck on my side, the books that I have been asked to read and the one's I have picked up on my own have been amazing! This is so true for Decadent Deceptions by Keta Diablo!I literally bounced in my seat and ran to my husband to tell him that Keta e-mailed me and asked if I would read DD and with possibility to review on my site. He just smiled and said, "that's great sweetie". So you get that I was excited...right!
This beauty is a can't miss ................. Let yourself travel back to 1856 Georgia in a time were women were still second class citizens and at the mercy of men. This was the fact for Olivia Breedlove who's father has just passed on and left her inheritance and her fate still within his clutches from beyond the grave. If Olivia doesn't marry in six months to a scandalous free, upstanding man then she gets nothing and will be at the mercy of her brother Cain to support her. Oh but feisty Olivia won't have it, she is bound and determined to marry for love, after all the girls got six months. Yeah right, love! Olivia as mastered a plan is to head to L'Amour Immortelles the high class Gentleman's Club determined to find a man skilled in the fine art of pleasing a women. Well at least she will have a man who can make her happy in bed, plus she is a virgin of course and is looking forward to a few lessons herself! Even if they have to be the voyeuristic kind. Mortified Cain agrees to help her, thinking she couldn't possibly go through with it, but having put his own wild ways behind him when he got engaged to Lark and wanting to be true to his love he stopped visiting all together.
In comes Morgan to the rescue, Cain's best friend and a lost love of Olivia's he has returned from France not able to put what happened between himself and Olivia behind him. Now that her father is past, as he forbid Morgan to see Olivia, he can't stay away. Completely in love with her he tells Cain that he will watch over her while she is at L'Amour Immortelles and potentially squash this ridiculous idea of hers. What Morgan hadn't bargained for, Olivia was scared to the core, but turned on as well watching others have sex. She had no idea, but what she did know was that she liked it. What she say through that peephole was a whole new world and her body was responding in ways she couldn't hide. Especially not from Morgan. The two just can't keep their hands off each other in the most delicious and erotic ways. I could have sworn the heat in my house went up as I read (OK, I re-read them a couple times too), their scene's together. Can you blame a girl, really!
Unbeknownst to Cain, Lark is well aware of his wild ways and that Morgan is in love with Olivia. Deciding he needs a little push to claim her, they come up with a plan to rile him up and make Cain sweat it out a bit. But their plot to win Morgan's heart and Cain's honesty could backfire on them both with deadly consequences! There is a killer on the loose and he is murdering the women of the L'Amour Immortelles. And now he is after Olivia as well. Not to mention that Morgan is guarding his own secrets that could threaten his desire to be with Olivia
Through and through I just couldn't stop reading and anticipating Olivia's own erotic submission to Morgan. Oh! Won't the blessed man claim her as his already!Olivia and Morgan's encounters are just so hot, sexy and sweet that you can't help but feel a part of the action. So many delicious and explosive elements Keta has created in-depth characters and perfectly illustrated who they are and how they feel and what they desire. With drama and passion this story explodes from the pages & darn it.....Keta has left me breathless and longing for more!

After the death of her father, Olivia Breedlove and her brother Cain finds out the terms of his will and Olivia is not happy. When the true nature of what she must adhered to in order to gain her inheritance sinks in, the gleam of mischief shines bright in her eyes.

Everyone around knows Olivia is a feisty soul and when she sets her mind to something, there’s little point in trying to talk her out of it. With only a limited time to honour her father’s request, she goes after the one man her father has forbidden her to ever see again.

After a few years away from home and the woman he gave his heart to, Morgan Gatewood is back. A libertine, a rogue of the first order when it comes to women, Morgan is no saint when it comes to desires of the flesh; despite all that however, when he gave his words years earlier to Olivia’s father that he would not see her again he meant it. Now, that he was dead nothing will stop him from claiming Olivia for his own.

Olivia in her quest to be her own woman and get the only man she wants, sets in motion a chain of events that might have Morgan and her losing everything they have ever hold dear.

It has been more than a year since I have read an historical romance, so when I got the chance to do a review of Decadent Deception, I jumped at the chance and I certainly have not regretted it.

Set in a time when a ladies reputation was valued about all else and a man’s word was his bond, we meet Olivia. Trying her best to defy the plans her father has drawn up for her, she does what she normally does best, sets about on a harebrained scheme in her own stubborn, which eventually affects not only her immediately family, but puts her in a position to experience the passion and pleasure which she is adamant is her due, before she mates.

Morgan has taken just about all he can when he gets winds of Olivia latest plot. In a position to not only protect her, but gets his own back at her he sets her plan in motion with devastating result. Morgan has kept not only his love a secret from Olivia but his business acquirements, and it may just be the thing to save her or it might just be the thing to break them forever.

The introduction of a murder mystery was a stroke of genius by Ms. Diablo, not only did she hold the who done it until the end, but the tension - was real, the fear chilling and the steps Olivia and Morgan takes to protect themselves will have you literally biting your nails in anticipation of the outcome.

I admit this book started off a bit slow for me, however by about page thirty I was hooks and the pages just kept flying. Once the paced picked up, Decadent Deception took on a totally new dimension. Love, friendship, and loyalty are tested, secrets are revealed and Ms. Diablo manages to give respectability to an area of society that is frowned upon and a humanity to situation and scenarios that could easily have been trivialized.

I enjoyed Decadent Deception and it’s is a read I most definitely recommend. Well done Ms. Diablo.

When you drive through your neighborhood and people have their windows open, do you look inside? I don’t mean peeping tom, but more just passing interest as you drive by? How do they have their furniture set up? What are they watching on tv? And just what are they doing??? I do. I have a bit of a voyeur in me, so I was not surprised at all when I loved Decadent Deceptions.

Keta Diablo had it right when she named this book Decadent, because my-oh-my, it surely is. This story takes us back to Georgia in 1856. Olivia Breedlove just discovered that her father’s last will and testament orders her married within six months if she wants to inherit her portion of the estate. But Olivia is no blushing violet, she is a modern thinking woman and she intends to find a loophole. And boy, does she! And it includes a few visits to the local madame’s to see if she can learn a thing or two - and she enlists the help of her brother, Cain, and her neighbor, Morgan (whom she is secretly in love with, by the way) I thought Olivia was very enigmatic. She’s a young woman, struggling against the confines of the times. But she is also intelligent and a bit audacious, and I really enjoyed reading about her different antics and angsts through the story.

But what good would a historical erotic romance be if there were no secrets? Trust me, this story has more secrets than you could shake a stick at! Whodunit? Who is going to do it? And who wants to do it??

Let’s talk about her neighbor, Morgan. Morgan is a bit of a playboy, he’s very wealthy, a tad manipulative, and positively head over heels for Olivia. And he is just beyond wonderful. Even when I suspected him of something horrible, I found myself rationalizing and finding a way to keep on loving him. At times I thought he was insane, and others I just knew it.

Treachery and debauchery are all around in this story, and it was perfect. Someone is murdering people, and Keta makes sure you suspect everyone I just love that! And Morgan and his blasted teasing!! This is why it is a good thing I was not around back then, because I don’t think I could have stopped myself from jumping all over that man. There was definitely a lot of events in this story to keep me engaged and entertained.

The characters in this story are very colorful and vivid, and they were so much fun. I really loved every single page. And on top of all that it was hot and steamy, full of delicious teasing, with some extra additions of mystery. I am new to Keta’s writing, but I can absolutely see why she has such a loyal following now plus one more. This is one of those stories I could see myself reading over and over because it was just so much fun to be along for the ride. If you like erotic historical romance, then this is definitely a book you should check out! You know, a book doesn't get over 25 Five Star Reviews for no reason!

I thoroughly enjoyed this well written romp through a dangerous cat and mouse game of desire and deception.

The story takes place in 1856 in Savannah, Georgia, all flouncing lavender dresses and drawling accents. Diablo does a wonderful job of capturing the essence of the south, giving her reader exactly what we expect and require, without quite tipping into a cliché.
Her heroine, Olivia, is strong minded and independent, one who women of our times can relate and aspire to, and is really quite out of place for 1856. This is all part of the set-up though - Diablo weaving an intricate and thoroughly believable story of a wayward young lady being brought to heel first by her father (unsuccessful), then her brother (again, unsuccessful) and finally her soul mate (beautifully and predictably successful - but on her own terms). The story had the feel of The Taming of the Shrew, and I really warmed to Olivia in the character of Katherine.
Now for her hero. He was simply perfect. We all love a manly man, and Morgan is definitely that. He had plenty of the rugged rogue in him, enough to entice the wayward Olivia (and us) in and hold her interest, plus enough of the romantic to clearly fall head over heels in love. Who could resist such a man? I predict that few of Diablo’s readers will be able to.
Al Diablo’s characters were fleshed out and real - even the secondary ones such as the brother, sister in law and local Madam. All of them behave consistently and believably throughout the story, making it so much more easy to immerse in.
The story versus bedroom scenes were balanced perfectly, plus there was just that tiny touch of mystery to add interest and intrigue; although thankfully not much, as it simply wasn’t needed.
I conclusion, this was a thoroughly enjoyable book with likable and lustable characters who are sure to please fans of sexy, sensual fiction.

Loved, loved, loved this book! Did I say I loved this book? I’m in awe of Keta Diablo’s gifted writing ability. She paints such vivid pictures with her words, and takes us into a beautiful romance with no lulls or heavy backstory. The 19th century time period was given justice in Decadent Deceptions and whisked me away to another world with the imagery, setting, and brilliant dialogue between characters.

Olivia has loved Morgan as long as she can remember, but refuses to admit it. She’s hot headed and stubborn…and a character I adored. In fact, I fell in love with the entire cast of characters, that became so real as I read. From Olivia’s brother, and sister-in-law, to the irresistible Morgan, each character brought a unique spice to the story.

Morgan, the brooding, distant love interest was more than delectable! He was a mixture of raw sensuality, and erotic domination. You can’t help but fall in love with him. The sexual tension, and sex itself was hot! We get a full sampling in this tasteful erotic tale.

Decadent Deceptions is a historical romance that follows Olivia’s journey to capture the attention of Morgan. Her path leads her into a brothel in attempts to arouse jealousy, and eventually into the sights of a psychopath killer.

By the end of this book, I was teary eyed from the romance that grew and blossomed throughout the book. The mystery woven within the pages adds the perfect amount of tension.

If you love historical romance, or wanted to start with a great one…run and buy Keta Diablo’s Decadent Deceptions. You won’t be disappointed. I will be thinking about this book for a long time to come, and look forward to more work by this exceptional author.

When Keta Diablo contacted me about a promo on the blog she also asked about getting a review of one of her books. After reading descriptions, I picked Decadent Deceptions as the one I wanted to read. And I am glad I did.

I found Decadent Deceptions to be quite riveting and found that I couldn't put it down until I was done. Here's the book description from Amazon:
Daring and desperate to win Morgan’s love, Olivia Breedlove embarks on a reckless folly. But everything backfires when Morgan remains one step ahead of her and the game ventures down a path of duplicity and murder.

A decade ago, Morgan was a heartbeat away from taking Olivia’s virginity. Her father, Thaddeus, intervened and threatened to meet him over pistols if he so much as looked at his daughter again. But now, Thaddeus is dead and Morgan has no intention of ignoring the ravenous hunger he’s harbored for the blasted woman for ten years.

One way or the other, he will quench this burning desire and make her his forever.

The concept of Decadent Deceptions is quite interesting. I did question some of the accuracy of the historical detail (such as some of the spoken phrases), but it didn't distract from the book. The love scenes were red-hot and explicit, but fit well into the story. I suppose the only thing that really bothered me was that when the book was over I felt kind of short-changed when it came to the actual romance between Morgan and Olivia. More often than not, the love just wasn't believable and it just seemed like their relationship was based on lust.

Overall, I did enjoy the book. And if you're looking for a hot read, a historical erotica, Decadent Deceptions is a great option.

Decadent Deceptions is the first book i read by Keta Diablo and i absolutely loved it!

Ever since she was little did Olivia have feelings for Morgan, her brother's Cain best friend.
When she gets older there seems to be more than just a friendship between her and Morgan but her father intervened and threatened to meet him for u duel.
When Thaddeus, father of Olivia and Cain passes he still wants to control his daughters life by forcing her to marry a man from a good family within 6 months after his death or she will have no inheritance and has to rely on her brother financially.

To take mathers into her own hands, Olivia wishes to got to a brothel to observe and persuade a man to marry her if she found the right one.
Morgan not knowing how she feels, tells her he will be the one to arrange this for her and escort her to the brothel.

When shortly after her secret visit, a courtesan ends up dead with a black rose near her dead body and Olivia finds a black rose as well.
Shortly thereafter another courtesan is murdered leaving behind yet another black rose.
Fearing his beloved Olivia is next that the serial killer is after Morgan takes her to a cottage his family owns.
She doesn't really want to go but Morgan has no choice: No one may harm the woman that he has loved for so long.

This book is sizzling and enticing!
It grabbed me from the first page!
I liked that this book really had a story instead of just the romance aspect.
Morgan and Olivia were great characters and i loved the sexual tensions between them.
The identity of the killer was also a suprise to me and makes this an even better book!
I look forward to read more from this author!

It was spring in Savannah, Georgia. The year was 1856.

Olivia Breedlove and her brother, Cain had just lost their father a couple of weeks ago. They were at a meeting for the reading of their father’s will. Their father left them everything, except there is one stipulation. It pertains to Olivia. The will states that she must marry within six months in order to claim her portion. Olivia is outraged. She does comedown enough to formulate a plan.

Morgan Gatewood is a childhood friend to the Breedlove’s. He has been in love with Olivia since the day they shared a kiss as children. Now both he and Cain find themselves sucked into Olivia’s crazy scheme to find a husband. She convinces them to let her visit L Amour Immortelles, a brothel. After a couple of visits, Olivia decides to partake in what L’Amour has to offer by offering herself up to a man. She asks for Madame’s help. Olivia gets more then she bargained for with her French lover, Arnaud Joubert.

I thought it was cute that Olivia thought she knew all there was about sex from reading books. So in order she thought she would be fine visiting a brothel. One of the funny moments was when she tried to ask questions of Morgan on why the people did certain things. Morgan is a good leading man. He is tall, dashing, and a great kisser. It is not often where you read erotic novels where the storyline is just as good as the lovemaking. I can see why fans are raving about Keta Diablo and her books. Decadent Deceptions is a delectable treat.

Furious over her father’s will, Olivia Breedlove derives a plan with hopes to make the one man she has longed for to take a chance on her love. Morgan Gatewood is a family friend and has fought his desires for Olivia for many years. His reputation as a womanizer and her father kept them apart many years ago, now her latest scheme is sure to test his restraints with the overwhelming desire that sizzles between them. Olivia talks him into bringing her to a house of ill repute so that she can observe the sexual delights that she will need to find the type of husband that will make her happy. Ultimately, she wants to entice Morgan into admitting his feelings for her and get past the propriety that has kept him away from her. Can they overcome the proper society rules and her father’s will to find a future together? Can Oliver accept the passion and the emotions that Morgan arouses within her?

Keta Diablo has pen a great historical romance with sizzling erotic appeal. Olivia and Morgan are characters that test the boundaries of their emotions as their romance takes you on a path with decadence. Not only do we get a sensual romance but also woven within the sexual tension is a subplot where murder and danger pulls you into a tangled web of intrigue. Decadent Deceptions is a great novel and I enjoyed the steam that came with this red-hot read.

“Decadent Deceptions by Keta Diablo is set in the 1850’s in the American South, rather than England in the 1690’s, but the premise, that of a young woman deciding to spy on possible husbands in a brothel, reminded me of a much-loved movie, “The Draughtsman’s Contract. I expected a beautiful period piece with clever interplay between societal mores and personal revelations, and “Decadent Deceptions fulfilled those expectations in part, but probably suffered in comparison to the movie. Of course, I should have guessed that it would be more explicit, and the anatomical details threw me a bit. But I found myself confused more by the interplay of language than that of anatomy or personalities. I wonder if I’m really so out of touch with “period American, or if there weren’t at least a number of places, not all related to human plumbing, where the modern term or expression was being substituted for the old.

By the middle of the book I wasn’t sure I liked either heroine or hero—the one seeming too easily overcome, and the other too inconsiderate and domineering—but the author wisely inserted a sub-plot of danger and intrigue at this point, and I did at least want the characters to survive. Some fairly amusing scenes ensued, rewarding my continued reading, and the increasing sense of danger and threat was very cleverly done.

A fun story, but probably not one for readers who prefer their plumbing decently hidden away.

To be clear I would actually like to give this book 4 1/2 stars, only dropping half a star because I couldn't quite shake a feeling of familiarity with the underlying plot.

However, this was an immensely enjoyable and satisfactory read, it had a definite appeal to my romantic side. The plot centers on a brother and sister, whose father has just died, leaving a stipulation in his will that the daughter, Olivia, should marry within 6 months to obtain her inheritance. Olivia Breedlove is a delightful character, headstrong, impatient, and prone to getting herself into situations above her head through her desire to both capture the attention of and simultaneously thwart the plans of the man she has loved from childhood.

The book is erotica at its best, sexual, sensual, but allowing the characters to have emotions and sensibilities that heighten the readers enjoyment of the book.

This historical romance had a little bit of everything in it. You have a daring lady who wants to push the limits at every turn, and a man who’s drawn to her, despite his every intention to stay away. Throw in some voyeurism, a bit of mystery and some humor and you have one hell of a story.

The level of eroticism was sizzling hot. At the same time, the author didn't lose sight of the romance under all that decadence, which made the story enjoyable to me. I love a well rounded tale and this is exactly what I was looking for.

The characters were likable, the story believable, and the descriptions riveting. For those who like their historical romances with a bit of diversity, I highly recommend.

Sizzling HOT HOT HOT! Keta Diablo’s Decadent Deceptions overflows with sensual scenes and tempting situations. Utilizing drool-worthy and unique characters Keta has managed to bring forth a deliciously sexy and compelling story by throwing together two individualistic and independent individuals and tying them together through unrequited lust and love.

I was given an e-copy of the book by BTS for the purpose of honest review. I wasn't paid for this review—all conclusions are my own responsibility.

This was the first ebook I've read. It was a good story, if you're in the mood for a steamy romance. I don't read many of them, but once in awhile it's ok. I don't care much for the four letter words, but that's just a personal thing. Overall I liked the characters, the story was a bit predictable, but a nice pace and flow to it.

This is not my normal book, I am not a straight romance person but this one got my attention and kept it throughout. The back and forth manipulation and hot/cold sexual tension between the two main characters is awesome. I really love the underlying stalker undertone beneath the main story. Ran through this one in a day,l couldn't put it down and got that warm fuzzy when I finished.

It was refreshing to read a book of this type with a fantastic story to it.

An interesting game of cat and mouse between Morgan and Olivia makes for a lively read - well recommended!

Not my type of book really... historical romance
struggled to finish,
but saying that, very well written, engages the reader.
