an adventurous life, Enzo ‘Bug Lupin has the world in his hands. A successful business with his two best friends, a motorcycle that is one of the few things that can bring him peace, and his club that surrounds him with the family and sense of belonging he craved while in prison.
Bug thought he’d found love while he lived in Vegas, but the night his mentor was shot was the same night he saw his girlfriend's true colors. His move to Tenillo helped heal his heart, and his time away from Vegas has shown him that’s not where he’s meant to be. Now, with the help of his brothers, he’s ready to get started living life in small-town Texas again, and he’ll do that as soon as he takes care of one more thing in Vegas for his club.
An astute businesswoman who can read every person in the room in seconds, May Haynes worked her way to the top of the food chain in her profession and had every intention of staying there. A sudden development in her personal life threw a wrench in her carefully laid plans and helped her realize what was most important in life. Motherhood changed her focus but not her drive. When Bug shows up and derails her completely, she’s got to make some sacrifices to stay with the daughter she loves.
Join Cee Bowerman for another installment in the Time Served series and follow Bug’s story to tie up loose ends that started in Tenillo as he finds new love. This is the sixth book in the Time Served series that is a collaboration with the Ares Infidels series written by Ciara St. James.
4.5 stars. This was a little different than the other books in the series. I still really enjoyed it, but I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get to see these two actually fall in love. They start out hating each other off of the information they’ve been fed by Merri, Bug’s ex girlfriend and one of Maylee’s girls. And then a lot of shit goes down in the span of like 12 hours and thing get flipped between them.
They decide to try being a team and working together to create a good life. They jump in head first and just do the damn thing.
By the end they’re on their way to really caring for each other and building respect for each other but the love just isn’t there yet and honestly I was bummed. I feel like Cee could’ve added another chapter or two and maybe skipped ahead just a little and we could’ve gotten there and seen them fully connected, but it was cut short. I’m sure she has a plan for what comes next since all of these books have a big overreaching plot line that connects everything together, and there’s probably something about to happen that makes it harder to do what I just suggested. Something that keeps the timeline on track. But I really think I needed that. All the other men in both MCs find a deep love and protective care for their women by the the end of the book, at least, and I went in really expecting the same here.
I really enjoyed the book. I liked the characters and seeing the ones from previous books again. It was fun and exciting, and the sex was hot and steamy. I just feel kind of jipped I guess. The HEA doesn’t feel nearly as satisfying if they aren’t in love with each other.
Enzo 'Bug' Lupin wanted to find his one, he thought he did but found out he couldn't be more wrong. Deciding he has enough of Vegas, he decides to relocate to Texas. He has no idea though that is world is about to turn upside down when he goes back to Vegas. He sees May Haynes and hates her even more, he blames her for his relationship exploding. That being said he finds out that May is not what he thought and the closer they get they both go from hate to something undefinable. Danger is lurking though can they stay safe?
So much more to this story it was amazing. I was not sure if I would like May because at first she is like ice but she is my favorite in the series so far. Bug was amazing and very different then I expected. Together they are one of the best couples written by this author thus far.
Bug & Maylee are calm, practical and deadly when called for. This couple comes together through strange circumstances, yet are a perfect match for each other. Along with the baby, Beatrix aka boo, they are three peas in a pod.
I liked this one, but didn't feel it was one of the stronger ones in the series. I liked Maylee and how given the chance she was excited to change her life and quite frankly Maylee is the kind of person who fit in with the crazy coven and the mission the guys have. I loved how Maylee got to see a glimpse of things during the big event that roped in all of those from home, but better was when the crazy coven invaded Maylee and started asking her questions, not phased at all of her former profession. I also really loved that Maylee got Bug and gave him the perfect outlet to deal with what was building up in him after everything. It will be fun to see how this new little family settles in.
This one wasn't wait I was expecting but it was so much better. The beginning I didn't really like but it got so much more amazing as it went on. The ending of the book was really good too.
Everyone is bloodthirsty in this book. It’s as if the answer to Life’s problems is to kill the perpetrators. And maybe it is since those being disposed of are human traffickers doing unspeakable things to women and children. The law can’t touch these perps; they are too wealthy and apparently can buy themselves out of any difficulty. Hmmm. In the real world, I am dubious of vigilantes. In this world, it seems to be not just the last resort, but the only effective resort, to ending the human traffickers.
Of all the books in this crossover series, this one is different. It deals with a different kind of woman, in a different kind of world, and in a different type of relationship. I liked it, but it made me a little uncomfortable which is not altogether bad. It can be a good thing to step outside one’s comfort zone.
Bug arrives in Las Vegas from Texas, hot on the trail of one of the bosses behind the human trafficking that several motorcycle clubs, working in concert, have been attempting to stop. The traffickers that Bug and his MC brothers are pursuing have been operating all over the country from several hubs that the MCs are looking to close down for good. Las Vegas is one of those hubs.
Bug meets up with Maylee, a woman he met previously, and who he holds responsible for a lost love interest. He dislikes her intensely and she returns his disdain. They spar and as often happens, sparks fly. She is as bloodthirsty as he when it comes to seeking retribution against the human traffickers. They call a truce, and their relationship takes a turn towards the fascinating.
Bug and the MC brothers find they need a lot of help running down the traffickers and the women they’ve abducted. Thanks in part to Maylee’s contacts, and the contacts of her contacts, they get the help they need. Bug runs into a number of people who are ready, willing, and able to help him get rid of the human traffickers and provide assistance to the abducted women. These people all find the traffickers morally reprehensible. So…I have to wonder…why haven’t these folks done something about the problem before Bug and his brothers arrive on the scene? They provide Bug with men, transportation, intel…so why haven’t they taken out the corruption themselves? It’s a puzzlement.
I am not a fan of insta-anything. Insta-love, insta-marriage, even insta-lust. In the real world, it doesn’t last. In this genre it’s trite, overused, and way overplayed. It happens here, too, but with some unexpected twists. I do have a problem with Bug’s reason for wanting to get married because he “knew this was what [they] needed to do to trust that the other wasn’t just in it until something better came along.
Oh, baby. What a horrific rationale for getting married. If someone finds something or someone better, and is the type to move along after it, then a marriage certificate isn’t going to be any sort of deterrent. Yikes. Bug and Maylee don’t know each other well and they hated each other mere days before their leap into matrimony. Only in fiction could this possibly be considered a good idea.
All this said, I do find Bug an interesting character. His road name comes from firebug, and he’s the real deal pyromaniac, not just someone who starts fires and becomes mesmerized. We see him in all his pyro-glory. Maylee shows him that she just may be his perfect match…so to speak. And we just know that Maylee is going to fit right in with the crazy coven of women in the Time Served MC. She really is a perfect fit. I read in the preface that Ms. Bowerman has never before written about a woman like Maylee. She is different, a little slippery in her ethics, but actually likeable. She’s strong, dynamic, and tough as iron but with a warmth hidden deep inside her.
I love visiting with the crazy coven they get into more trouble with each book, and they are hilarious. It’s impossible to read about them without cracking a smile at the very least, and usually it entails a belly laugh or two. The book ends on the crazy coven and their men off on an adventure I sure wanted to tag along with them in order to watch all the shenanigans. Alas! The book was over.
There are just a couple of items that are a little strange: ==) In Chapter 8 we learn Maylee had has a hysterectomy so in Chapter 9, she probably didn’t “feel him [Bug] near [her] womb. Just sayin’. [her cervix, maybe?] ==) “And she’s looks like Sex Goddess Barbie. The contraction on “she isn’t needed; just “she looks like Sex Goddess Barbie.
I rated this book 5 stars because it does what so many books do not: it captivates and captures a reader’s interest from page 1 of the prologue through to the final word. Ms. Bowerman is a fine, fine writer who knows how to craft a tale that makes a reader never want to stop reading. I am almost bereft when her books end. She writes a series, where each book builds on the one previous and involves Ciara St James Ares Infidels MC, as well, and yet never falls back on the clichéd cliffhanger. She enthralls us and I am always waiting cheerfully, if impatiently, for the next book. I’m so pleased when I find a next installment. Happiness is…another book in this series.
A Madam and a Bug enter a restaurant Highly recommend!
I do NOT consider this to be a STAND-ALONE read. That is because there are two series, written in tandem by two authors, about two different MCs, that unite together to tell the readers about Tenillo, Texas. For maximum reader satisfaction, to prevent spoilers, and for immersion in the dynamic world building, these need to be read in order, alternating every other series. For example, it begins with Boss from the Time Served MC, then Sin’s Enticement from Ares Infidels MC series, then back to the Time Served MC, and so forth. Other reasons these should be read in the recommended order include multiple reoccurring characters, concurrent / overlapping timelines and overarching themes.
Cee and Ciara are working in tandem to weave stories about men and women that are determined to clean up and save their city from coercion, drugs, blackmail, human trafficking, murder and whatever other nefarious crimes are being committed in the shadows.
These men and women do not fund their lifestyles with illegal activities, so they are not like the stereotypical bikers normally featured within this genre. These series combine to build a dynamic and ever changing story universe with each new reveal, but with two distinct styles. This has made it more interesting for me and I for one am looking forward to the next in the series.
** If you have not read the previous stories in the series, the following may contain spoilers. There are numerous topics that are potential triggers for sensitive readers, so please review the examples listed below **
⛔️ Contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, restraints, spanking for pleasure, “bottom play, etc.; violence such as kidnapping, abduction, murder, death, torture, assault, fighting, betrayal, coercion, blackmail, threats, subterfuge, money laundering, gun running, cheating, prostitution, human trafficking, mafia / cartels, drug use, drug distribution, as well as the mental, physical and sexual abuse of females and children, etc.
** Caution: Contains scenes with reference to, or detailed graphic violence against females and children that fit into the storyline, but may be a trigger for some **
There are very few grammatical issues primarily comprised of incorrect word choice and tense, punctuation errors, missed words and extra inserted words. There is one correction that is needed, but I don’t consider it enough of an issue that I need to lower the rating. In one intimate passage it mentions that it felt like “something”touched her womb, but previously in the story it said that Maylee had a hysterectomy. I am mentioning these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.
I found Bug, aka Enzo, to be a very fascinating character. Highly intelligent, short attention span, that becomes fascinated with fire as it is the only thing he can’t quite figure out. Plus dimples Hello! Cee had me at the dimples! Then when Cee added May, aka Maylee, with her complexity, I was hooked.
The story goes back and begins after the human trafficker, Daniel Detling, travels to Las Vegas. Since Bug, Kitty, and Santa have a condo and are familiar with the city, they travel back to assist Hammer. When they arrive at their building, Bug is surprised when a man that looks vaguely familiar verbally attacks him.
After Kitty, Bug’s BF and business partner, gets a tip about Daniel meeting someone for dinner, imagine Bug’s surprise when it’s his ex’s boss, May, that shows up. Outside the restroom Bug and May have words and he lets their suspicions slip. May is shocked when she learns of the human trafficking and tries to get Bug to tell her what they have planned, but he won’t.
Due to their surveillance, they know that May follows Daniel into his room after dinner. Not sure what she will due with the information that Bug told her, Bug admits his screw up with their MC President, and they make plans to grab Daniel early before he can skip town.
Unbeknownst to them, May enacts her own plan to deal with him when she gets to the hotel. She calls Teddy, her pseudo son, best friend and business partner, to bring her suitcase to Daniel’s room and then takes out her “little bag of tricks and very inventively drugs him.
After May leaves Daniel’s room, the people doing surveillance enter and find out he is not there. Bug realized that he was in the luggage and they must be taking him to May’s condo, which conveniently, is in the same building as theirs.
Bug and company enter May’s condo to wait for her and Teddy to arrive. While they are looking around, Bug makes a life changing discovery his own “tiny little girl Bug with matching dimples WTF?!
This is the 11h book in the Tenillo Guardians series (but the 6th book about the Time Served MC). While it is a standalone, I truly believe that reading the previous books 1-10 in the series will enhance your enjoyment of this book. This book is about Bug (aka Enzo Lupin) of the Time Served MC and Maylee Haynes (a former escort who now is the head of her own high-end escort service) herself with a bit of a secret). Maylee is extremely helpful in getting one of the bad guys and freeing some women about to be sold. This book has it all it has laughs, a few answers and new questions, a secret baby and enemies who become lovers. There’s an epic scene when Maylee meets “the Coven (the women who are involved with the TSMC guys) and the havoc that the meeting incurs.
Cee writes stories of wonderfully strong women who meet and fall for strong, protective alpha males and this one is no exception. I really would love to be part of this girl tribe. This series is a bit darker than her other series, but I loved it.
While the main part of this book takes place in Las Vegas we still get to spend some time with both clubs back in Tenillo, TX and get a few more answers to the puzzles of these crimes and find there are still a few more criminals to be found. I can’t wait for all the rest of the stories and if I could; I’d live in Tenillo, TX.
The series will alternate between the Time Served MC (by Cee Bowerman) and the Ares Infidels MC (written by Ciara St James).
Misinformed and un-informed get informed real quick
Bug (Tenillo Guardians Time Served MC Book 6) by Cee Bowerman is a spicy, fast paced, action packed MC romance. Bug (Enzo) is sweet but totally alpha, gets things done, processes things quickly and adjusts to a new life path. That new path being two females; the daughter he never knew about and her mother, May/Maylee. Bug and Maylee have a very contentious relationship based on false information and outright lies. Determined to have his daughter in his life means Maylee will also be a part of his life, calling a truce and being open-minded becomes more important than holding on to grudges. The plot is woven with Bug and Maylee's evolving relationship which switches the fireworks from dislike and distrust to consistent chemical combustion. Throughout the romance and steam, the continuing plot of the MC is addressed with Bug and Maylee playing a part in getting some justice for the victims. Overall, this is as much a heartwarming romance and beginning of a beautiful family as it is action. Bug and Maylee work together in all ways and embark on a wonderful HEA that includes all the extended MC families of the Tenillo Guardians. I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
This book was a little different from the other books which I’d previously read and enjoyed. Cee Bowerman said that she’d never written a heroine like Maylee and I have to agree but that makes her a great addition to this series. Maylee is a great character but what I really liked was that she didn't need rescuing and was more than capable of looking after herself and helping with the situation. As for Bug, well he’d thought he'd found someone to spend his life with, he was in love, but when he found out she’d lied to him and unfaithful, he took the chance to get out. His assumptions about Maylee are way off beam, no spoilers from me here. All of these characters have a raw edge to them, they’re tough, have no qualms in meeting out their form of justice, and importantly having the MC at the basis to everything they do. There’s romance, surprises, action, danger and loads of laughs along the way. This series does not disappoint. Cee Bowerman’s Time Served MC and Ciara St James’s Ares Infidels MC series that are connected story wise, never disappoints. A 5-star review from me.
He thought he'd found someone to spend his life with. He thought he was in love, but when he found out she lied to him and wasn't faithful, he took the chance to get out. Bug heard from Boss that Pops was shot and he went home to Texas to help find the people that shot Pops. After a year he's heading back to Las Vegas on business and runs into his past, but he's not prepared for his reality.
I loved this book. It was raw, gritty, and has such great characters. I love Bug and all of the guys of the Time Served. The women these men find themselves with are the best. They are tough, just as dangerous as their men and they will always fight for what they believe in. Bug and May are a great pair and their story was great. I love the characters and the stories just seem to get better with each one.
I am looking forward to more books to come in the Time Served MC and the Aries Infidels MC. The clubs are awesome!
Actually, Cee Bowerman and her delicious storytelling mojo are amazing. Seriously, I savor my visits to Rojo and Tenillo! Thank you Ms. Bowerman!
Maylee is probably my favorite Bowerman heroine so far. Read this book if you love stories about a survivor who is strong enough to "own" her life choices and still embrace her real dream when fate dangles it under her nose. Enzo AKA Bug is aggravating, endearing, badass, and hysterically funny at times, but most importantly he is smart enough to discover the true gem beneath an impeccable facade.
Love the crazy coven and their Alpha-male whacko counterparts? Never fear, your favorite heroes and heroines of the Time Served family are on hand to tickle your funny bone and make you cheer for sister/brotherhood at its finest!
Luckily, this flaming hot pairing that came about in Vegas didn't stay in Vegas. ;-)
When I started this book, I had read the comments the author made regarding the heroine and her profession. So, I paused and thought maybe I would pass. I'm glad I didn't listen to the bad advice going on in my head. This book surpassed my expectations, Bug and Maylee are a match made in this crazy universe called Tenillo. I've read all the books in this series and sister series. This book has it all laughter, action and suspense along with some sexy lovin! Get pass your hang ups and read this book. You will have a blast and won't want it to end. I could see a part two with this couple, they are that good. The characters rock. So, get going and start one crazy ride in the Tenillo universe.
I love how the books in this series all tie together with the AIMC series and how each series has a different feel about it. I love the humour in this series, especially when it comes to the crazy coven and their antics but I also love the banter between the brothers of the Time Served MC. It never fails to make me laugh. Loads happened in this book and it just felt like a constant rollercoaster ride that was never ending. I love the character in this book, and to be honest in the whole series. I always look forward to each character getting their own story told in their book. I also find that I throughly enjoy each book and feel quite satisfied with the story by the end of the book and looking forward to reading the next one.
Our past does help in shaping our future and our inner self. What you see may not be always what you get.
Bug learns some hard truths about part of his past. His future is completely different now than what he thought it would be.
Mayley has many different sides, she only shows her true self to those who she seems worthy. Lies tie these two together in a way neither could comprehend.
Feelings are changed and some deeper dirty deeds are found out.
Three stars because I felt that the ending was a bit rushed and the way Mayley is shown, doesn't fit with how she is in the first part of the book.
The Tenillo Guardians ride again. Thistle, Enzo "Bug" of Time Served is in Las Vegas after Detling, one of the denizens of Tenillo that is involved with the trafficking ring. The ring goes deeper than they knew, and Bug ends up finding the surprise of a lifetime and a new team member. A former girlfriend, in the life in Vegas, had a hard time trusting anyone, and manipulated Bug as well as her former boss, May. Leaving a surprise for Bug and May, the girl was unable to cope and Bug and May, now called Maylee, take hold of new lives. Unfortunately, the trafficking ring still goes on, even with the severe blow dealt it by Time Served with Maylee's help.
I love every single Cee Bowerman book out there. And this book is quite excellent, do not get me wrong. I’m disappointed with the ending but the rest is just as good as the rest. But this one was not her best. What is really sad is it is so, so good. Enzo/Bug and Maylee are absolutely fantastic. But the book ended before the love was solidified. It feels incomplete which is really upset because this story would have been one of my top 3 Bowerman books had we gotten more relationship development. Very very very mild SPOILER: We don’t even get them realizing that they love each other or exchanging “I love you Not even an epilogue where they’re in love.
Cee Bowerman stated that she had never written a heroine like Maylee and I have to agree but that made her such a great addition to the series. Bug was always just a brother of the MC who was in the background but his story has to be one of my favorites at this point. The way these two met (or reconnected) had me needing to know how their story would play out and after the surprises, truths and acceptance were revealed I saw this author’s vision! I can’t wait for more from both Time Served and The Infidels.
Enzo and his lady. Enzo got quite a surprise when he went to Vegas and found out that not all things done in Vegas stays in Vegas. This book had me laughing so loud I was afraid my neighbors would stop by to see If I was alright. The problem with this book was I was enjoying it so much and laughing at the antics of the Crazy Coven antics, that when it ended, I just got sad. I just did not want it to end. Every book in this series is a great read including this one. No cheating, HEA, no cliffhanger.
Bug aka Enzo and his brother's are still on the trail of the men and women abducting children and women to be sold. The trail leads them back to Vegas were Enzo runs into an old enemy. Bug's old girl friend was a call girl and he hated her Boss May aka Maylee.
Through discovery he finds he has a daughter. Both of them had been lied to.
But Maylee became the childs mother and Bug comes up with a plan they will work together for their daughter.
Great story love Bug and the women of the crazy Coven love them
I chose this rating because this is actually a pretty good book. I really enjoyed most of all of the characters. This was a book of determination, compassion, kindness, protection, and falling in love especially the one you really did not expect to. I really enjoyed Bug and Maylee story. I think they made it very interesting couple. They both were very intriguing. I think the author did an amazing job though with putting these characters together. Great read! Recommend this book to all romance readers and MC lovers.
I was looking forward to this book, because I know Cee always writes amazing stories, but Bug had not immediately caught my attention when he was introduced. But he showed me how wrong I was and quickly stole my heart to become one of my favorite book boyfriends of all time! And Maylee, she is amazing, and so different in many ways, but in some she reminds me of Martha and I know she will fit right in with the crazy Tenillo women.
I loved the book Maylee is a true boss bitch. I want my own Boo, she sounds adorable. I just wish it didn’t end so soon. I love the fact that Maylee’s first priority is Boo. It didn’t have to be but she chose Boo. I also love how much attention Bug gives to both Maylee and Boo. I love the Support system both Bug and Maylee have. I really wish we got more of Boo but that’s just because I love her so much.
Enzo hates, hates May. She’s the reason him and his ex didn’t work. May made her sleep with her escorts. So he left Vegas. Now his back to do some work and bumps into her. Something is not right right. Enzo walks into may floor and find the surprise of his life. After some talking both find out his ex lied to them. Enzo gives Maylee two options go with them or walk away from his daughter. Back in Texas the coven welcome her. Both find love and amazing family.
OMG💓💕 I have experienced a lot of life and living in my years! I get enjoyment from a lot of different things, but reading is like a passion for me. I swear I can count on 1 hand how many authors excite my passion! Ms. Cee is one of those authors😍 Don't get me wrong, there's hundreds more out there that are talented and great storytellers, but Ms Cee's talent is in her blood! Loving her💓💕
I have absolutely loved this series, and this book was certainly no exception. I love watching these men find their forever, and the women that they love are awesome! This story had some heartbreaking situations, tragedies, and unexpected twists, but in the end was a fantastic HEA for the new family. I'm really looking forward to the next release in this collaboration! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
Bowerman writes so much personality and intrigue into Maylee you can't help but adore her. Maylee is someone I never expected but no wonder Bug is crazy about her...now. Bug and May meet but hate one another (no spoilers). Bug's life gets flipped on it's axis. The only thing missing is I think it would've been a pretty cool scene if Paula showed Maylee her concealed weapons had Maylee showed Paula her necklace.
Not what I expected of Bug. We got his history, a beautiful and intelligent woman for him, and a different storyline. Maylee is interesting, but I could have used a little more of her back story. We get glimpses of it as she weaves her magic amongst the crew, and more pops out in her personality when she meets the coven. I would have liked this story to be a bit longer because the peeps are just fun, fun, fun. Enjoyed!
I liked reading about Bug. I got small peeks in the other books so getting more personal was great. I loved Maylee! She was a unique woman but yet she fit in very well with the crazy coven.
My only real complaint is the time lines are wonky... sometimes people are said to be dating and other times they're married. Also Detling was killed in the last book, and Bug was there for it.. but there was no mention of the revelation from this book where he was still alive.
How is it possible to discover your a dad after watching your nemesis having dinner with the target you're watching. Bug found May having dinner with the target who was in charge of a trafficking ring. May didn't want to tell bug he was a father and risk losing Boo. Once the lies from Merrie were straight Bug and May found peace with each other after deciding to raise Boo... Let the games begin with the Crazy Coven and Time Served MC.
