I read this and in the book: .

The moral of this story: the quickest way to a woman's heart is through her ass.

This story was the slightly better of the two I read in the book and the sex scenes were fairly hot at times. I'm still unsure why anal sex is a requirement that goes hand in hand with love when it comes to 's writing, but I didn't feel quite as sick during the dirty talk episodes. Unfortunately, the guy was as openly foul-mouthed as nearly every one of Leigh's heroes.

The thing about a lot of 's novels, from what I've gathered so far, is that they might work for a lot of people as erotica because there's plenty of extremely graphic sex, but they flop down on their faces as soon as Lora tries to turn it into a romance... which she does a lot. In pretty much every story she tells, somewhere amid the spanking, gross language and anal, one or both characters realises they are in love.

Love works in erotic romance, look at , look at , even look at the first novel I read: . But it only works when there's a story and a relationship that goes beyond doing someone in the ass. There's something about a lot of Lora's work that fills me with revulsion, I know I should walk away but it's so hideous I can't stop reading. I must break this habit fast and read something I can feel positive about for a change.

Yowzat!!!! Hot shit on a stick this was raunchy!!!

I started Lora Leigh's Breeds series when I was an erotica virgin and let me tell you Lora Leigh is not the sorta lady you give your erotica cherry to. She is all kinds of kinky and quite frankly when I first laid eyes on her work I was like a little bitch curled up in the feotal position in the corner.

But now that I am becoming the Queen of Smut I find the XXXXX porn style dialogue kind of enjoyable....ok, i'm a dirty, dirty girl and I like to read naughty books.

So I quite liked Surrender. It was a whole heap of penetration in the tiny space of 63 pages.

DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU ARE A EROTICA VIRGIN and DO NOT READ THIS IF ANYTHING BEYOND A VANILLA SEX LIFE SCARES YOU - because there ain't no vanilla coming from Lora Leigh!!!

I have the most recent 3 Bound Hearts books, so I wanted to go back and start from the beginning. I read this one last night in one sitting. It's a short story (so this review will be short).

This first book is a pure erotic romance short story. It's about a young woman, Tess, who because of her mother's influence has been hiding her dark sexual nature. Her father's business partner, Cole, sees the submissive inside her and he's waited for two years for her to come to terms with it. Now he's done waiting and forces Tess to submit to him.

Total scorcher here. Whew! If the book burst into flames, I wouldn't have been surprised! It's a short story so it isn't very involved or very deep. It's meant more to be read for the super hot sex and romance angle. And it's well worth it because as I said, this book is scorching hot.

But it's probably not one for everyone. It's got a dominance/submission theme with the bedroom activities, though I wouldn't say it's very hardcore. I've read much harsher D/S stories. But if that's something you don't like, then you might not like this story.

WARNING: this book contains: explicit sex, dominance/submission, bondage, spanking, anal sex, M/F/M sex, toys

So I am not a big fan of M/F erotica, apart from the few that I enjoy like . This one started out hot and I thought hmmm I might enjoy this, well nope it came tumbling down after the first 20pgs. It wasn't horrible just weird, I know every moldy bread has its cheese. Well this moldy bread is ditching this cheese and trying some butter instead.

Tess Delacourte is sexually frustrated and depressed, living at home with her psycho mom. She dreams of the day when her life will become better.Lets just say Tess has Mommy and Daddy issues. The only beacon of light in her messed up world is her lust and she cant help but lusting after Cole. The man of her dreams, the man of heart the very man she should stay away from her. Cole demands things from her, things from her body that she fears ever giving up, and that is complete control. After two years of running, Tess is ready to throw away those track shoes and take a leap into the arms of the man she loves.

Cole says he knows Tess secrets desires and he is the only man that can make her admit it. So he has a week of planned seduction and training. Where in the begginning I thought said training was hot, it became creepy and weird. With the whole your dad gave me his permission to do this.
A) The only thing I want my dad to give permission to is my hand in marriage.
B) Not the well planned seduction and bondage type stuff, while experimenting with toys. There are just things a parent should not know.
So Cole gets his wish and ties Tess to a bed and starts to drive her crazy with pleasure.

At some point I got really excited when Cole brought in his friend Jesse, I thought YAY M/M action. Pfffft I got nothing, I got the most boring threesome ever.I thought Cole was a closeted gay the way he wanted to get at Tess's butt. Well there was no male play, all I got was kinky sex, a creepy father and psycho mom. If these are your requirements for erotica, go ahead knock yourself out. I must say I have the other books in the series and I plan to stay far away for awhile.

If only Cole and Jesse boinked.

How annoying can a heroine be? Annoying to the point where I was hoping she'd have a fatal allergic reaction to the lube dude was using on her. Or get the ropes he was tying her up with caught around her neck by accident. Maybe suffocate when she was squished between dude and dude's BFF. There was absolutely nothing sympathetic about her. Not a damn thing. She was bitchy, protested waaaaaaay too much when it was obvious to everyone she really did want the dude, and took her "snappy" comebacks way over the line to the point of coming off like a spoiled child, stamping its feet and screaming they want a lolly. This was one chick I really wanted to bitch slap. I'm still not sure why dude loved her so much. If I hadn't skimmed some of the later Bound Hearts books and made a decision based on this entry alone, I would never read further in the series or read any of Leigh's other books.

This was the first Lora Leigh book I've read and I really loved it. Wow! What a wild ride! This book is not for people who are too sexually inhibited and uptight, I read this knowing its genre and was prepared for what lay ahead.

Reading erotic fiction is nothing new to me; the writing style was very effective, Ms Leigh new how to turn up the heat, there was a lot of sexual tension, and the actual scenes were both kinky, passionate, and I admit to having knots in my stomach while reading them.

I liked how the characters get straight to the point, the scenes and dialogue never dragged, explicit language was excessive it was obviously exciting, and because of the masterful storytelling, Ms Leigh really takes us into the characters' minds, what they're thinking and feeling were expressed clearly.

Yes, this book was 90% sex, almost nonstop, but never to the point of being trashy, like porn in writing. The author used sex as a tool so the characters could understand each other better, and as a means of communication. Sex is a very intimate act between two consenting individuals, and when Cole finally claimed Tess for himself, things got better.

I liked how things turned out, Cole's and Tess's true feelings surfaced after the shocking scene (not a sex scene), and the author really provided a good falling action, for things to start cooling down. I especially liked the mint chocolate ice cream, and with that I conclude this review and I would definitely read more of her works. 5 stars!

This book disgusts me on so many levels I can't even...

I find it degrading and devoid of anything human. The way the guy acts towards the girl... I would just scream for help and call 911 first chance I get. And he has an obsession with her back door.

No, just no!

A short story full of hot sex w/ some bondage and anal play, and a little menage mixed in as well.

I'm a huge fan of Lora Leigh and this series is great! She manages to develop the characters so that we care about them, and provides a full story with lots of hot, steamy sex. The stories are short and sweet, and each one is different in the sexual needs/desires of the characters. I highly recommend them!

The sex scenes were hot, but the rest was completely ridiculous, and certainly not worth the £4.25 price tag.

Tess's parents were WAY too involved with her sex life, Cole came across as creepy, and I don't like it when a H tells a h that they know them better than they know themselves.

Negli erotici i personaggi fanno sesso. Tanto sesso.

Direi di no.

Part of an anthology of two erotic romances featuring threesomes and bondage in Surrender to Fire.

Series: "Surrender", Bound Hearts, 01 (also found in )

The Story
"Surrender" starts the Bound Hearts series through which runs a theme of threesomes which focus on the woman's pleasure. The couple focus in this one is on Tess Delacourte and Cole Andrews with Jesse Wyman as their third. It's very soap opera-y and not one of my favorites; I suspect because Tess has such a wimpy attitude. Her mother, Ella Delacourte, is so incredibly uptight and vicious that I just wanna smack her; she'll get hers in "".

Dirty, fifthly kink of the best kind. This is really one long hot seduction long overdue. Tess has long avoided Cole and the wanting she has for him. Her desires are the antithesis of everything her mother has preached at her. But Cole's tired of waiting and he's determined to show her that what she really wants isn't perverted or wrong, but exactly what he wants and can give her.

Liked the chemistry between these two and the sex was definitely hot. This was nicely set up with a lot of backstory to make sure that the intensity of this story makes sense. One week of seduction to convince the girl you're in love with that she's ready for a lifetime with you. Yummy.

This is a short 85 page book so I am going to keep my review equally short and sweet.

Warning: Don't read this book without a boyfriend or a BOB. And you should probably keep them in close proximity.

It may only be 85 pages but it is 85 pages of HEAT HEAT HEAT. The sex scenes were incredibly hot and their actually was a storyline.

I almost wished Lora has fleshed this book out more because I wanted to see more of Cole and Tess and their amazing chemistry. But then again if it was fleshed out I would probably be complaining that their was too much sex.

The whole series is not what I hoped
There is no story whatsoever, just how fast the characters can get in eachothers pants.
Don't get me wrong!: I loooooovvveee good sex scenes! But some form of story, suspense and character- building would be nice.
After book 5 I just kept thinking: up her ass again? Aaaannnnd....... There is that second guy to fuck.....Yawn....
Very 1 dimensional characters. Oh, and the names...... They blend. James, Jason, Jesse. Hard to keep apart....
Terrie and Telly. I kept thinking; which one is this again? And what's with all the twins?
Bummer...

"You're mine." He wasn't asking her anything. "Taken by me, Tess. Mine to hold and mine to love now."

Really good for a short story :) Not having much luck for finding a heroine I love, but totally loving the hero, Cole. Tess was sweet and confused, but she was relentless is her denial of what she needed / wanted. He knew her more than her own self, and he showed her again and again until she knew that she was his ... sigh!

The first twist into the spiral of more decadent reading was a Lora Leigh book. This is an early one and as such doesn't shine quite as brightly as others, but it is the first flicker. Decent read, better if you have perspective on Leigh's writing and enjoy seeing the arc.

(November) I'm pretty sure this was the first kinky story I read that I really liked! I came across Ties That Bind years ago and I think my eyes bugged out when I read both this story and Jaid Black's that were in the book. Saw this free for Kindle and had to get it! It's really not very good. The story line is silly, and somewhat disturbing. I don't mind the bdsm slant. I don't care if he gets off sharing her w/his friend. But the idea that her dad was somewhat involved...um, ewww! I can only imagine...

**SPOILERS AHEAD**

(two years ago)...hey Cole (says Tessa's dad, who is married to Cole's sister)- my daughter Tessa's mom freaked out because she was in Tess's room and found she had books that were about bdsm and partner sharing (because, no, this is not an inappropriate conversation for a dad to be having w/his buddy/b-i-l at work). You know you and I are both into that sort of thing - so hey, even though I'm married to your sister, maybe you should make sure Tess knows you are into that sort of thing too and you can hook up w/her one day (dad-pimp-really, all the same). Yeah, and if you end up in love w/one another, then my daughter will also be my sister-in-law and you will be my b-i-l and son in law - and your sister will also be your step mother-in-law - because all of this is not totally creepy enough.

(two years later) - (says Cole...)yeah, Tessa, your dad lured you to his house so I could tie you up and sex you up to show you how much I care - yeah, he knows about it (again, dad/pimp/whatever), but hey, he wants us both happy...SEX HAPPENS...um, and why would your mom have a key to get into her ex husband's house where she can catch us having a threesome and scream in disgust and disown you (although in the next book she ends up in her own kinky threesome w/her daughter's extra lover's twin!).

Ok, so it's beyond stupid. But I loved it when I first read it and still find it beyond implausable but sweetly kinky (sort of like reading Maya Banks - they truly try to make the most outlandish sex situations about as normal as they can!). So while it really doesn't deserve a 4* rating, I'm going for it anyway.

I'd never read a book of Lora Leigh before, but so many readers and reviewers were very positive about her novels (on weblogs and booksellerssites). So I decided to try one, from the Bound Hearts Series. Surrender is the first in the series, and is a short story (ca. 60 pages). It's about Tess and Cole, who have wanted each other for years now. But Cole had made it clear that he wants to control Tess, tie her to his bed and take her every way he desires. Tess doesn't want to admit that she really would like that, because of the disapprovement of her mother. Finally Cole decides to take matters in his own hands and tricks Tess into his bed. Once she has surrendered herself to him, she can admit that she wants this.

The not so many explicit sexscenes are hot but a bit extreme for the tender of heart. There's bondage and also a menage situation when Cole invites his friend Jesse to join them. Everything happens with Tess's consent, but she had to be pushed a bit. When her mother walks in on the menage scene she realises that she loves Cole and chooses a life with him. He has loved her for quite a while now, so they live happily ever after, of course.

Though it was kinda sexy the way Cole took charge and knew precisely what Tess wanted, I didn't completely symphatize with the heroine and hero of this story. Maybe it was too short for that. So I'll give it 2 stars out of 5. And I'm not sure if I want to read the second Bound Hearts story. Especially since Tess's (hysterical) mother will be starring in it, with Jesse's twin brother James, who's about 6 years younger than this woman. Maybe I'll skip to the third or fourth book in this series though.

Surrender probably would have been better if I had read it earlier, during my Erotica discovery. I still enjoyed it, but it was just a bit too tame for my liking. Also the language at times was really cheesy and unsexy. Tess has been avoiding Cole for two years, after they had a stolen moment. She knows all about Cole's sexual preferences, and how he's all about domination and Tess is convinced that lifestyle is not for her, even though it does arouse her. Most of this is her mother's doing, since apparently anything sexual is evil and makes you a whore. No wonder Tess is missing out.

Most of Surrender is Cole slowly bringing Tess into the world of BDSM. He doesn't push her too far, but he does bring in his best friend to take care of one of her curiosities. We really only get their first and last nights together, and nothing in between, which was a bit disappointing. I would have liked to see have seen more of what Cole was introducing Tess to. As it is though, Surrender was pretty good, if a little awkward at times.

Though I liked the whole message - be free with your sexual desires - and it had some very hot scenes, it wasn't as good as it could have been. Tess is a woman repressed by her mother and who believes she's depraved for wanting the things she desires. It takes Cole, a sexy associate of her father, to teach her how to embrace what her body craves.

It started with a severe case of a lady protesting too much and the whole "I want but can't accept it because that would make me bad" attitude that only serve to irritate me a lot. When she finally gives in (in a very much forced manner) it's filled with protests and annoying arguments that turned the whole event into a boring thing for me. Then, there's a whole build up to the menage scene - that was to be expected since the beginning of the story - but when it finally came it wasn't hot. Oh well, it didn't take too long to read and it'll probably take as much time for me to forget it. Not a remarkable one.

This story is a short novella, and with that format comes some challenges. An author must try to introduce the characters and conflicts and build up to a satisfying ending while answering all the reader's "why?" questions. In this case, I felt the author could have done slightly better in answering some of the most pressing questions the book raises.

Why does Cole feel he must dominate Tess? What need does it fulfill? Why is anal sex play such a large role in their relationship? And most importantly, why does a man who frequently says "Mine" to Tess feel the need to share her with his best friend at the end?

Regardless of those unanswered questions, I still enjoyed the story and I already have the second book in the series slated to read. I'm expecting, after reading discussions about this series, that the "why's" I listed above are answered in later books.

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Okay, where do I start, I have so many issues with this book, I don't even know...

First of all, some of the descriptions, honestly 'she felt her vagina explode' doesn't sound sexy, it sounds painful. There were more things like this that just didn't work for me at all - and I wonder who they work for.

Second, and I had issues with the content. Not with the BDSM theme, if I wasn't fine with that I wouldn't have read the book. But That's a big no for me.

As this is the second book by Lora Leigh that I didn't really like, I don't think I'll read any more from her.

This book was funny and annoying at the same time. Funny because some of the 'dirty talk' was just too darn weird to be hot ( "I'm going to lubricate your ass real good, baby...") and annoying because of the lack of plot and the weird conversations.

Basically the male character gets our whining heroine to her father's house under false pretenses, binds her to the bed in her sleep and has sex with her for a week while priming her bottom for invasion. Oh, and apparently her father gave his permission for all of this!

I get that +/- 60 pages isn't alot to get a decent story going, but this was just rediculous.

meh meh meh...
very Lora Leigh, meaning, not very good writing, poor character development, terrible/non-existent/boring/absurd plot.
Leigh's books are like a car wreck, I can't seem to not look.
There's always too much sex, and even though I have absolutely nothing against anal, I do think that it does not equal love, as Leigh's book seem to indicate.
I don't think I've ever cared for any of her characters, if they live or die... well... shit happens... whatevah!

I've wanted to read Lora Leigh's Bound Heart series for ages. Thanks to ebooks I was able to collect the series easily and could read them in order. All the books in the series tell stories of heroes who have a need to share their women with another man. The menage aspects are integral to the stories and are very well done. I've read all 11 stories released to date and have enjoyed them all. If you like your erotica in flavours other than vanilla, you'll enjoy this series!
