I picked this up NEW TO ME AUTHOR and all, and I honestly was not expecting to DNF this on page 1. So, what happened was that the first pages contained a scene of the hero with another woman and that is one of my HUGE TURN OFF TRIGGERS I have with books, especially graphic ones. Just can't continue reading past that point it's no fun and don't need to be there. So, the 1 star is for that specifically, I know a lot of people look past that, he isn't with the heroine but to me that's too much of a playboy and especially right off the bat. Best of luck to the author who is very sweet, I am sorry this didn't work out for me.

This is the 2nd book in this incredible series, and this is Colin and Peyton’s story. Peyton is interning for a sports agent when she is assigned to revamp a football players image, only to find out the player concerned is none other than Colin, her ex from college who broke her heart. This is a well a written enemies / lovers, 2nd chance sports romance, with explosive chemistry, angst, drama, challenges, humor, witty banter, and love, which leads to an entertaining and steamy page turner.

Colin and Peyton

First of all I love football so when I had the opportunity to read another book in the Denver Mountain Lions series, I knew I had to jump on it and I’m so glad I did. What a great sports romance with just the right amount of steam, drama and laughter in a second chance story.

Peyton lands her dream job of interning for a sports agent when she finds out she needs to clean up a football players imagine. Well, just think of her surprise when the playboy she needs to help is none other than her ex from college. Then let’s add in the fact that Peyton has a no fraternizing with the players clause.

Can and should these two rekindle something from the past? It’s a great ride on this journey with Colin and Peyton and it was definitely a feel-good book. (Plus, who can’t love a puppy named Waffles!!)

When a former fling smears him in the press, Colin James, wide receiver for the Denver Mountain Lions football team, ends up on thin ice with team management. He's in the last year of his contract but doesn't want to leave Denver, so his agent tasks his new intern, grad student Peyton Thompson, with keeping Colin in line and coming up with a plan to generate positive press for him. What his agent doesn't know is that Peyton and Colin have a previous acquaintance; they fell in love while attending college together at Tennessee, but went through a painful breakup when Colin decided to leave school early for the NFL draft. It's impossible to deny the attraction that still flares between them, but the no-fraternization policy his agent has put in place for his employees means that acting on their feelings would jeopardize Peyton's current internship and prospects for finding a job after graduation. Can they find a way to be together without risking her entire future?

Colin and Peyton were a great couple with tons of chemistry and witty banter. Colin definitely went off the rails after their breakup in college, but when he found Peyton again, he immediately put his playboy ways behind him and dedicated himself to winning her back. That said, I was a bit frustrated by the fact that it took them so long to talk about the reasons behind their breakup and figure out that it had been caused by a misunderstanding purposely caused by another person. I was also frustrated that they didn't confront that person as soon as they figured out what had happened, which allowed that person to create additional problems between them in the present.

Aside from those (relatively minor) frustrations, I enjoyed "Pass Interference" and recommend it for all contemporary/sports romance fans. I look forward to picking up future stories featuring Colin's teammates, especially Knox. (Hopefully Knox will visit his grandmother for more bingo and love advice in his book! She was so funny in this story.)

Aboute love, hurt and a second chance

If life throws you a second chance pass, would you take it? The answer to that has Peyton to find, and she doesn't even play football. Just loves the sport, and at a time loved a player too. And now, fate throws them together to make the impossible possible. Help your ex to rehab his image. What worse can happen as to work with someone who broke your heart. But untypically that's the question that bothers BOTH. Cole doesn`t want to work Peyton on his reputation, he wants to work on getting her back. Despite both being angry and hurt, the chemistry is explosive. But somestimes some things are unsaid for too long. And that is not the only problem standing in their way.

Cole has issues, his lack of communications at the right time, or in the right way? But despite everything going wrong he is a good guy deep down. You will like him, want to shake him too, but like him.

Peyton is still hurt and nevertheless in need of this job that forces her to work with Cole. She is mature and is at the position to do it right, feelings aside. But being around Cole that much awakwens a lot of different feelings inside her.

A really wondeful page-turning story about love, hurt and the chance of a second chance, and what are you willing to risk, if you are willing... that is.

I am leaving this review voluntarily.

“Pass Interference is a feel good romance that hits you with the perfect amount of humor, angst and steam. Peyton and Colin’s story was so good and I enjoyed every word.

Colin James is one of the star players of the Denver Mountain Lions and his reputation on and off the field precedes him. After a jersey chaser accuses him of being less than gentlemanly, his agent goes into rebuild mode. Enter Peyton who is interning for his agent and has been tasked to help rebuild his image. But Peyton and Colin have a complicated past, they were college sweethearts but broke up before he was drafted. Unresolved feelings between them both start to resurface.

I loved the unresolved feelings and tension between Peyton and Colin. You could just feel it as you read it and that made it for a spicy and entertaining story. Peyton is smart, independent and knows what she wants, and I instantly connected with her. Colin was a riot and his relationship with his teammate was classic bros and made of true friendship. Once these two were forced to work together, their banter was great. And when the tension gets to be too much, the spicy scenes were absolutely delicious. I can’t wait for the next book in the series to see what the rest of the Mountain Lions are up to.

Gah it was so awesome to dive back into the Denver Lions and read how Colin and Peyton's story unfolded.

This book starts off with a bang. Colin is the epitome of the cocky professional athlete playboy who finds himself in the hot seat after another one of his sexcipades. Peyton lands her dream internship working with a professional sports agent where she's trying to earn her last credit before she graduates with her master's in sports management. Peyton is excited to do the job and earn her credit by following the rules, which includes a no fraternization policy that ends immediate termination if this rule is broken.

Finding himself in the hot seat, Colin's agent assigns Peyton to revamp his image to make sure he stays with the Denver Lions. You can imagine Peyton's shock when her first assignment is to take on Colin, her ex from college who shattered her heart and ghosted her as soon as he was signed to the big league. Little does she know, Colin has a different picture of the relationship's demise.

These two are straight fire from the beginning. They are constantly rubbing each other the wrong way and struggle to leave their past behind. Will they be able to work together and fix Colin's image, or will sparks flying costing both of them their futures?

Colin has made a reputation for himself…and it isn’t a good one. It is having a negative impact on his career and the team wants that to change. Peyton is starting a new internship to finish up her degree, but she has one major obstacle to get through and that’s Colin. Her college ex who broke her heart years prior.

Colin and Peyton have chemistry, they have a of unresolved issues from their time together in college and it’s created a lot of tension between them when they run into each other again. They have undeniable chemistry that they can only ignore for so long before something has to give.

There is a lot of risk given that they are working together, but sometimes that second chance is worth that risk. Even if it may lead to difficult times.

If you’re looking for a second chance, forbidden, workplace, sports romance check this one out.

Peyton and Colin I love these two so much.. Big bad playboy Colin is such a softie when it comes to our girl Peyton his one true love who has never forgot about. Peyton is here to clean up her ex’s image but those feeling she has that she has tried to stuff down for the past 7 years are resurfacing and boy do these two have some amazing chemistry. You can feel how much these two love one another. I loved their rekindling love and watching them work through their issues and then finding out what happened between these two way back when causing their split oh man the really hurt and all that lost time they had made me sad. But these two were meant for one another and they ended up exactly where there should..Together!! Fantastic read and I am loving this series!!

I was so happy to be back in the Denver Mountain Lions world and Peyton and Colin's story was everything!

Colin has a bit of a reputation as playboy, love them and leave them type but when it potentially jeopardizes his career he knows he needs to lay low.
Peyton is excited to be interning for the Devener Mountain Lions, she loves football until she realises part of her job will be babysitting Colin!
Who just happens to be her college sweetheart who broke her heart....... or did he!

I loved the tension and unresolved past issues between them both but when they see each other again the sparks are still there and there is no denying there chemistry even though Peyton tries to resist!

I absolutely loved Peyton and Colin! I'm excited for the next book in the series. Ps How could I forget mentioning Waffles the cute adorable lab! He stole every scene he was in.

Okay first of all that opening scene for the book?!? Damn. Did not see that coming.

That being said it had Colin (the bad boy pro football player) setting the stage to be reunited with Peyton. These two college sweethearts may have had their hearts broken, but could they work together to repair Colin's image? After all that's why Peyton was brought on for this internship.

Seeing the hate to love be quickly replaced by friendship, and then an actual relationship had me falling for the couple.

I will say that I found myself wondering when the other shoe would drop, and the relationship would be outed. Would their relationship survive? Or would their hearts be broken once again?

Emily Silver has me falling for these football players, and the tight knit community that they've built. Cannot wait to see what happens next in the Denver Mountain Lions series.

The second Denver Lions book is even better than the first. Payton and Colin walk that line of hate/love and haven’t seen each other in 4 years when they broke up. Their breakup left both shatter. Payton threw herself into her education while Colin attempted to numb the pain by becoming footballs biggest playboy. Now it’s Payton’s job/graduation on the line to reform Colin’s image without ruining hers. Both have changed since they broke up but can they put their anger aside and make this work professionally without crossing any lines? If they cross lines Payton will have broken the number one rule her boss for her internship gave her on day one…absolutely zero fraternization with clients.

ARC Review

I absolutely loved this book including each and every one of the characters.

Peyton and Colin were stong characters on their own, but together, they were stronger than ever. Although my heart broke for everything they've gone through, I feel like those challenges and obstacles only strengthened the bond between them. I loved the chemistry between Peyton and Colin, and them being able to pick up where they left off like no time passed at all is a testament to the sincerity of their relationship and love.

Pass Interference was everything I wanted in a sports romance, second chance novel, and more.

I'm addicted to sports romance and I've just found a new-to-me author who will feed my addiction.

Pass Interference is a second chance romance that ticks all my feely boxes and characters that are worthy of the love they find is my own brand of kryptonite.

Colin and Peyton are absolutely destined to be together but you'll have to read about them to discover the circumstances leading to their breakup for yourself.

I'm so looking forward to learning more about the Denver Mountain Lions and their star players.

This book came out of the gate with a punch and really made you go oh here we goooooo!!!

The humor and banter between Colin and Peyton really stole the show for me. Banter is seriously my favorite thing in books these days and the author definitely delivered great banter.

The angst and steam were here and we got a good amount mixed in with the banter to give us a great story. Loved the way everything played out and how Colin and Peyton got their happy ending.

After leaving each other on bad terms, Peyton and Colin both lost the love of their lives in each other. And they have not seen or spoken to each other in years. Now they come face to face and have to work together to fix Colin’s playboy reputation. Which proves to be a hard task in itself, but the fact that they are both still in absolute love with each other makes things 100 times harder.

The two of them get closer together as they are with each other all the time and the feelings and familiarity of their love comes to a head. What will happen when the truths of their past come out? Will they be able to get back to that love that they once had, or will they be doomed from their new beginning?

The audiobook of this is fantastic! Teddy Hamilton is the perfect voice for any professional athlete book that I have read, and he embodied all that is Colin. I could feel all of the feelings that Peyton was having through Rose’s narration and I loved it.

Can’t wait to read/listen to other books in this world!

My Review

Colin & Peyton are beyond adorable!!! These two have so much fire it just off the page from the first time they are in the room together after being apart for 7 years.

Colin plays the part of party boy for the Mountain Lions, yet on the inside he’s just broken from the one girl that had his heart an left with no reason the day after he was drafted in college. When his party lifestyles gets the better of him he’s on thin ice an needs to redo his image or risk being let go from his team. Enter the woman that stole his heart all those years ago.

Peyton came to Denver for the awesome masters program yet the internship she so wanted came with one issue. The one man who owned her heart is now the image he’s having to rebuild. Trying to keep this man at arms length only last for so long until they are falling back into old patterns and her heart is in the line along with the one job she wants.

I loved seeing this two try to keep one another in the work only area but they can only be strong for so long. Throw in a cute little yellow lab named waffles an a girl can only be strong for so long haha.

This was a great sports romance an the side characters were once again making me laugh so hard.

Put this one on your list to read because it’s so great.

Pass interferences gave me some hope on second chances. :) I love a good sports romance book even better that it’s an enemies to lovers. So Colin and Peyton had history and now after being apart for years and built up tension on how things were left before. Let’s just say they couldn’t stand each other now at this point. Oh boy but the banter was funny and you can tell there’s alot of s3xual tension between the two. But when they have to face the past and unanswered questions things get bumpy. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it especially if you like sport romances and enemies to lovers. I definitely recommend.

Pass Interference by Emily Silver was an enemies to lovers football romance that made me a believer in fate and second chances. This is book 2 in Silver’s Denver Mountain Lions Series, and I am loving all these fine football fellas and their journeys to HEA. Colin and Peyton’s romance is filled with overcoming challenges from an abrupt ending to their first chance at love, but when reunited and questions are answered they sure do turn up the heat! I love that Colin goes from a playboy who needs to clean up his image to a charismatic dedicated lover to Peyton. Peyton is a woman on a mission determined to fulfill her sports management dreams in the city she loves. In the end, I adored how these two worked together even though their relationship was a little bit forbidden to make their dreams and their second chance at love come true.

Overall, I loved this book! If you are a fan of football romance with a hot hunky wide receiver, a “Rocky driven heroine, auctions, Bingo with sassy grandmas, story time with cute kids, a yellow lab puppy named Waffles, past secrets, second chances, hiking steamy times, camper vans, football rivalry games, and a HEA that will interfere with your heart in all the best ways, then you will love Colin and Peyton’s story! I always look forward to more from Emily Silver.

“‘You like stats, so let me give you some stats on our relationship I’ve been in love with you for seven years. Since the moment I laid eyes on you. Every second of every minute of every hour of every day. For seven damn years... My favorite thing was holding your hand. Is holding your hand. I always wanted to be connected to you I love you, Rocky... Without a doubt, you’re the best catch I’ve ever made.
A watery laugh escapes. ‘A little cheesy, don’t you think?’

This second book in the series didn’t start off as strong because we are really supposed to hate Playboy Colin (Emily, you do a good job with that). BUT, when we really get to know Colin, the one Peyton loved all those years ago, then it’s easy to see the redeemable man behind the “player mask. There’s a bit of mystery in this story because we have to find out what happened five years ago that drove them apart, plus we get to see some extra fun around Denver as Colin is on his PR tour to rehab his image.

Not gonna lie, I wasn’t so sure about Colin. I mean, he was really shaping up to be the a**hole playboy and I didn’t think he deserved a love story... but Emily led us down a path to completely turn it on its head. Not only was that all an act, but Colin is TOTALLY lovable. He gets nervous about impressing children, gets super gooey at puppies (I mean, who wouldn’t?), and he can turn on the charm when necessary.

Overall, this book was super cute and I really liked it. Plus, Colin’s POV when talking about his love of football spoke directly to me. There just is something about football that gets me excited, makes me feel at home, and gets me amped. Then hearing about how much Peyton’s love of the game grew throughout her life to the point of making that world her career? There’s not a lot of space for women in this world, but Peyton found her niche and I admire her for that.

And, on a side note, can we just take a second to talk about the scenes with Darlene? Colin and the team participate in one of those charity date auctions. So when another teammate’s grandma bid (and won) on Colin, the scenes we get with their interactions are *chef’s kiss* GOLDEN! I couldn’t stop giggling... especially when Knox got really uncomfortable. But be warned, bingo is a dangerous game! 😆

Colin James was the guy that she saw forever with, the house, careers, babies, but all those hopes were dashed when he walked away with nothing more than a hurtful letter. It left her feeling like she wasn't enough, that she wouldn't fit into his big dream of playing in the NFL and becoming one of the greats. With no other choice but to move on she decided it was time to focus on herself, finish college and search for her dream job. Soon thoughts of Colin were nothing more than a distant memory... but that's all about to change. As Peyton has just landed her dream internship and her new client just so happens to be the boy that broke her heart way back when...

Pass Interference is a story of second chances, healing, hope, and rediscovering lost love. These two were meant for one another, but due to foul play they were pushed apart and the love they shared was lost... but not forgotten. When their jobs reunite them the reunion starts off a little rocky as they both still carry a lot of resentment and hurt feelings from the past. But it doesn't take long for those feelings of love to start to resurface and their chemistry to keep circling around one another. They know they are not suppose to be together, but their hearts keep pushing them together anyhow... it's inevitable, they belong together, or do they?

I loved watching this one unfold, the push and pull, the indecision, the stolen moments, it was all so perfectly done. These two had me in their corner the whole way through, I could see the spark was still there and hoped they'd eventually give in to it. It was such an enjoyable first read, the words were captivating and well penned and the characters easy to love... I loved every minute of it! Highly recommend!

Pass Interference

Thank you Wildfire Marketing Solutions for sending me an ARC for an honest review

[CONTAINS SPOILERS]

Again coming a review of an ARC I absolutely loved. I'm a sucker for second chance romance and enemies to lovers. I love to see them meet again after years and I love to see them getting together again cause frankly they never stopped loving eachother. This book had these things and that's why I love it so much. It's so wonderful to see how the feelings don't change especially if you love someone as much as Peyton and Colin did. Peyton is a hardworking girl and I adored that she had her target to have a successful career that she wouldn't let anyone jeopardize, not even herself. I loved how Colin grew along the book and became from the "womaniser" he was to a person that literally would do anything for his girl. And I mean anything. I hated how they broke things off years ago and I'm so glad that this didn't ruined them forever. Their second chance was sweet and way stronger cause they finally knew who they were. Colin's father was the character I despised the most and that made me understand Colin a lot better. Peyton was and will always be his best supporter and that's so sweet and important, especially since being a football player ain't easy due to the hardness of the game. A wonderful read, with depth in the story and characters. Definitely a book I recommend.

#passinterference is book 2 in the #denvermountainlionsseries by @authoremilysilver

Colin is the teams playboy. He gets around and has a lot of his antics seen by everyone due to his popularity. After a story going viral, he needs to get his act together or he’s going to lose his spot on the team. The new person to help bring him down a notch is the last person he ever thought to see. Peyton was his first love, the one who broke him and made him act out initially. Can he be civil enough to avoid being traded or is their chemistry something he never let go of and he wants to be exactly what she deserves?

Peyton is almost done with her masters and can’t wait for her dream job. She just needs to survive this internship. Which wouldn’t be so bad if she didn’t have to deal with her Ex. They might not have talked for 5 years, but her feelings never wavered and she kept tabs on him from afar. Can she help bring his image back and show the world the man she once loved or are his playboy ways too much for her to help with?

This was a cute book. I loved the idea and most of the story. Colin is a total playboy and has made some really dumb decisions, even though he’s done it to fill the void of his broken heart, he was still pretty stupid. Peyton has set her goals to be the best and she is. But seeing Colin again is a double edged sword. She missed the man she once loved and who was her world but seeing him act this way was too much for her. They fell back into an easy-ish relationship a little too quick for what I’d like but I understand how it happened. And their chemistry was off the charts! I’m enjoying this series and can’t wait for more.

Where do I begin. This was just not up to par for my standards, I guess. I don't think they're too high, but I maybe I should adjust them when downloading KU titles.

The storyline was a good idea, but I just think it was executed completely wrong. There were several roadblocks for Peyton and Colin, but they were minor and seemed to come out of left field. For instance, Peyton has no problem fraternizing with Colin while she's an intern for his agent's office, until it was like she suddenly remembered, out of nowhere, that she could get fired. It's very odd how the author just drops in into dialogue while they're making out.

*SPOILERS BELOW*

Also, the whole breakup between them in college involving letters to one another...the idea could have worked, but it totally did not. At all. Like, were they typed up? It made no sense for two college aged kids to believe the letters were authentic otherwise! The concussion could have been the plot arc, but it wasn't. Being caught together and reported to the agency could have bene the plot arc, and it tried to be, but it got overshadowed by Colin's dad. It was just kind of sloppy. At one point the writing made it seem like Colin was a running back or even a QB, but he's actually a Wide Receiver (this matters to me, folks, I'm an avid football fan!).

And the sexy times were very sexy. Overuse of the term tits, precum, and quick orgasms. This one just didn't do it for me; however, on the one upside, it was a quick read!

Pass Interference is the second book in Emily Silver’s Denver Mountain Lions football/sports romance series that I loved so much!

Colin and Peyton were college sweethearts, but their relationship abruptly ended around the time that he was drafted into the NFL. Several years later Colin’s career on field is flourishing, but off-field, his public image has taken too many hits in the press due to his philandering ways. He needs to redeem himself to appease the team and fans.

Peyton is finishing up her sports management degree and thinks she’s gotten the internship she needs to complete it and launch her career. She’s been careful to avoid any contact with Colin in the years since he left college, but her first big task assigned to her is to overhaul his image and keep him out of trouble. No easy task with so much unfinished business between them.

Emily gave us instant chemistry between Colin and Peyton but with a slow burn build up before they gave in to the magnetic pull that had always been there.

This second-chance love story was funny, wistful, sexy and sweet with just a touch of angst. It will have you rooting for Colin and Peyton’s happily ever after to land like a clean catch in the end zone for the game-winning TD. I can’t wait for the next book in the Mountain Lions series!
