The author Dr. Amit Abraham did his schooling from St. Joseph’s College, Nainital. He did his post graduation in psychology from the Delhi University. His doctorate work is in the area of personality psychology. He is the former principal of Scottish Church College, Kolkata and prior to which he was heading the post graduate department of psychology at St. John's College, Agra and teaching at the graduate and postgraduate levels and also supervising research work as supervisor. He is actively involved in various offbeat research works related with the human psyche. He has done extensive work on human sexuality and five scales developed by him for the measurement of sexual attitudes towards different sexual practices have been published. Several other scales developed by him for the measurement of various psychological variables have also been published. He has published research papers and authored books on psychology and general interest. His books on general interest are being marketed internationally and have been incorporated in many institutions as part of their curriculum. He is the founder and President of a registered mental health organization called Samvaidna which is actively involved in the area of guidance and counseling, therapy, testing and personality improvement programmes along with conducting workshops on various psychological issues. He is offering psychological guidance and counseling via the internet to people across the globe. He is the consultant for the local print and electronic media giving interviews and talks on various psychological aspects and issues. He is also the Recipient of the U.P. Shikshak Saman for the year 2006 awarded by Bright Organization For Youth.
