Until He Met The One Woman Who Could Satisfy Them All. . .
I was born in Crescent City , California , a small logging town on the Pacific coast, home of enormous redwood trees and clear rivers. I have great memories of playing on stumps the size of small houses on my grandmother's acreage in a little town just north of Crescent City called Fort Dick . My sister and I would take daily walks to the main street store—an old, tiny white building that included the town's post office. The main street included just the market, a tavern (appropriately called The Stump) and a church we attended each Sunday morning. I loved that small town…and I still do.
In the early seventies my family moved to Washington, a state with gorgeous mountains, beautiful forests, and lots of green, which meant lots of rain, but I love all the seasons. I have wonderful memories of my childhood—a mother who was always at home, a father who worked hard to give us a good life, and a sister and brother who always looked out for me.
When I was all of 14 years old, I met Kip Templeton, my brother's best friend, and the man I would one day marry. Green eyes, dark hair, 6'1", and built like a Greek god , Kip had quite the reputation as a bad boy. I was absolutely terrified of him. Being that he was almost four years older than me, not to mention my brother's best friend, he was off-limits.
Yeah right
Kip swept me off my feet and at the tender age of nineteen, I became pregnant with my first child. That same year I also discovered historical romance in the form of Kathleen Woodiwiss’s SHANNA. That book started a love of the genre that would spark a desire to write my own stories.
Two kids and many years later I sat down at my computer and started writing a romance novel. Realizing I had a lot to learn, I bought research books, and studied the craft of romance writing. I joined Romance Writers of America, and attended a Romantic Times convention. I went to every workshop and absorbed every word. I met authors like Heather Graham, Kat Martin, Virginia Henley and Susan Johnson who were all approachable and friendly. That trip solidified my desire to become a published author.
I sold six short stories to confession magazines, and felt like I was headed in the right direction when an untimely illness threw a wrench in my plans. Soon my focus turned from writing to fighting an inflammable bowel disease that would eventually cost me my large intestine in a radical surgery.
During my illness I had lost my desire to write, but eventually I felt that familiar urge to sit down and start a new story, and I did just that. I’ll never forget the phone call I received from Amy Garvey of Kensington saying she wanted to purchase the novel for their new Precious Gems Historical line. In that moment I had realized my dreams…and it felt incredible.
Since then, I have sold time-travel, historical, vampire and contemporary romances to Berkley, Avon, Ellora's Cave, Cerridwen Press, Hard Shell Word Factory and Triskelion. I’ve also made some incredible friends (Beth Ciotta, Jordan Summers, Tracy Cooper-Posey, Jolie Mathis, Mary Stella, Cynthia Valero, Patrice Michelle, Kathy Love, Arianna Hart & Kate Pearce) to name a few…who have gone through the ups and downs of publishing with me.
I still live in Washington with my husband Kip, who is my biggest cheerleader (I even talked him into modeling for my historical romance SURRENDER TO LOVE). Our daughter has left the nest but lives nearby and our youngest is attending college and still lives at home. We’re enjoying our lives and even bought a Harley, something we’ve been waiting twenty-plus years for. It’s a good life…and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Thanks for taking the time to read about me. I hope it gives you a good idea of who I am.
This was my first book, and I had picked this up expecting a completely idiotic erotica. And how I loved to have found myself to be pleasantly surprised.
Quick Review - This story was a super fun read. I quite enjoyed myself, as there was a romance to go along with the smut. - The writing was engaging, the story moved forward quickly, the characters were likeable, and there was no excess drama. What more could a reader ask for? - I liked Sinjin, even if he had a funny name. He was not just another rakehell who was trying to skirt around his mother's machinations to see him married. Under the philanderer facade lay a loving family man. The bond between the brothers was excellently portrayed. - Katelyn was a meek little heroine. She was nice, and she was there. That explains why the book is titled Sinjin. - The romance was instalust meets we were meant to be together. It was cute. - There were a few inaccuracies (the second son of an Earl does not get the courtesy title of Lord, am I the only one who gets bothered by this?), and there wasn't a lot of depth to the characters, plus there was an implied incestual relationship aspect that was alluded to about a side character, that was cringeworthy.
My Recommendation A lighthearted read for sure, but I am disinclined to read the next in the series because the heroine's aunt and hero's younger brother in a HEA is a little iffy for me to wrap my head around. Although it is a no to Victor's story, it is a yes to Ms Templeton's other works!
I have to say that this one was a total surprise for me. The cheesy name/title and the cover were a tad off-putting, but I found this a breath of fresh air.
The hero is a class 1 rake, and appears to have slept his way around the British Isles (his brothers are still busy doing this), although I don't think much sleeping is involved. In fact, when we first meet him he has his face in a prostitute's chest. However, there is a nice balance between his sexual appetite and the rest of his personality, that a lot of rake-finds-everlasting-love themed HRs don't seem to manage. He isn't an unpleasant or selfish individual, and struck me as a sharing, likeable kind of person, with a strong libido.
Yes, there are a few minor errors in grammar and context (I'm not an equestrian but I can't figure out how you can use both knees to urge on a horse whilst riding side-saddle), but they didn't annoy me, and I really enjoyed the author's style. I particularly like how secondary characters were so well-developed and well-rounded. No characters were totally evil, and we were given some great insight in a few short sentences by exclusively focusing on each minor character as needed.
The Raybourne brothers are known as the Rakehells of Rochester for their wild ways and for seducing any women, married or not. Their reputation precedes them and when Sinjin, Victor and Rory are caught in a brothel by their mother, they are humiliated. Betsy Raybourne is beyond shocked and appalled by her sons. She gives them an ultimatum: each must find a bride before the summer is over or she will leave them with nothing. She will hold a house party where the three men can choose among a bevy of beauties. Sinjin decides he will be the first sacrificial lamb and find a woman who can look the other way while he continues his carousing. When he spies Katelyn Davenport across a crowded room, he is smitten.
Katelyn and her sister Marilyn have come to the Raybourne house party as one last hurrah for Katelyn. Because their father died and the family was so in debt, as well as having a mother who spends like there is no tomorrow, Katelyn has decided to marry a much older man. Her fiance, Lord Ronald Balliford, will save Katelyn's family from ruin even though the thought of sharing a bed with him makes her sick. She will forget about her problems for the next two weeks and enjoy the delights in store.
When Katelyn and Sinjin meet, there is a crackle in the air, an attraction they both cannot deny. Katelyn wants to feel passion and Sinjin wants to be the man to show her how incredible it can be between them. Katelyn is overcome with her feelings for Sinjin as his talented hands and mouth bring her such pleasure. Soon these two engage in shocking displays of lust where they could be caught at any moment. Sinjin wants Katelyn unlike any woman before her and will do whatever he can to keep her. But then Ronald arrives, ready to take Katelyn back with him as his wife. Sinjin must decide if he wants forever, which means making Katelyn his wife before another man can claim her.
Grab a fan because Sinjin is one book that will have you sweating and panting at the same time. This erotic regency romance by Julia Templeton is scandalous in its telling. Not only does the reader witness passionate displays of love between Katelyn and Sinjin, but the other characters make sure to have their fun also with titillating love scenes that include Rory and Victor enjoying the skills of Lady Anna, a party guest who in turn wants to show Marilyn the secrets of love. Anna and Marilyn's interactions may shock some readers but I must give Ms. Templeton credit for doing so. I hope she will write their story at one point. Also, Katelyn's aunt Lillith is the voice of reason for her two nieces as a widowed older woman who is attracted to Victor but won't give in to her own desires.
I must admit that I was very surprised I enjoyed Sinjin as much as I did because I didn't expect there to be much of a plot. When I first was introduced to Sinjin I didn't care for him, but the way he treated Katelyn at the house party quickly changed my opinion about him because he is more concerned about Katelyn's pleasure than his own. Also, the fact that he refused to tell his brothers the intimacies he and Katelyn shared with one another was admirable. Watching these two try and figure out a way to be together and for Katelyn to try and break off her impending marriage is the main reason I enjoyed Sinjin so much. And the way Ms. Templeton has written the secondary stories around the main one is excellent. I found myself understanding the Raybourne brothers' motivations and why they are so involved in such sexual antics. By the time I finished reading, I came to believe in Sinjin and Katelyn's HEA and that he was a changed man.
Sinjin is perfect for those who want a bit more spiciness with their romance. I had fun reading this latest by Ms. Templeton and look forward to reading future stories with the Rakehells of Rochester.
I adore a good sexy and of course romance!! But, Ms. Templeton is a wickedly magical writer! She describes the handsome, masculine and sexy Sin, aka Sinjin so well, I got goosebumps...all over!! I love the storyline. It was written with details and it had twists and turns. It held me!! I wish it was longer, but it was still a delicious love story. With a sexy as sin Rake and a beautiful heroine, Katelyn! Then, his ridiculously handsome brothers!! I am definitely reading the other 2 books!
The worst for me was when the heroine loses her virginity: they're on a hunt, the hero/heroine slip away to a cabin in the woods, and not 5 minutes inside, and he's slipping into her.. The whole act, including (lack of) foreplay didn't last 7 minutes!!! seriously????
Sorry, I'm just disappointed in this book, especially after reading Lisa Valdez or even Jess Michaels!
Not something I would particularly recommend, which is unfortunate because the three brothers really are hot:-) 2 stars
Well, I must say that I enjoyed this book. It was a easy hot historical, just what I needed. I look forward to the releases of the next two brothers books.
Loved this book. Sinjin and his brothers are interesting and likable and the heroine is also likable and interesting. The plot is not the usual idiot rake who wants to take advantage of the helpless female but then falls in love with her. I really enjoyed the change of pace of actually having the man like and respect his love interest and want to be with her. I highly recommend this book!
WOW..... talk about sex on a stick sexiness.... Now, I LOVE my peranormal romances/erotica..... but nothing beats an erotic historical erotica which leaves you panting and NEEDING to read the next in the series.. I have been playing back and forth with reading this one and decided to just have at it tonight and Lordy Lordy...
Katelyn is acting as a chaperone at a party thrown by Sinjin's mom because she is trying to merry them off.. Sinjin is the oldest of the brothers yet all of them have this bad ass reputation for screwing anything that wears a skirt. Katelyn is engaged to this D-bag named Ronald and you honestly hope she kicks his ass to the curb because her and Sinjin are totally adorable. What continues to happen throughout the book is just sexines..lol...
I could totally see Julia Templeton doing a version of Pride and Prejudice where Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy have crazy wild sex..lol..
IF I HAD MORE THAN TWO THUMBS I WOULD PUT THEM UP AS WELL.... 2 THUMBS WAY UP!!!
My first book by Julia Templeton and I enjoyed reading it. I read both this book and the third book, Rory, back to back.(Skipped over Victor) In both cases, I think the female character is really under-developed. It doesn't provide the same depth to the characters I am use to reading and the story line is predictable but it does have some very steamy sex scenes. Then again, it may simply be the writing style of Erotica Historical Romance.
Not sure the book is worth $9 but it was a good read.
I had really high hopes for this series because I've heard a lot of people like it, but I wasn't bowled over by the first book.Ìý It's decent and sexy and I'm a little in love with Sinjin myself... but the storyline is so typical for a historical, and the scenes are so "choppy".Ìý The author is so quick with everything, there is no real pacing or descriptive text or anything.Ìý It's just "this happened" and "she did this" and "they went there".Ìý Sometimes I end up skimming a book because it is TOO wordy... this one has the opposite problem!
Okay ladies this book was awesome brilliantly written scintillating sensual it was fun wonderful love story it's well-written character as well to find you love some you hate someone else just wonderful I don't want to give anything away all I want to say is by the book you will love it love it love it love it I did I got the other one so I can read them it just that's wonderful read it
This book was okay. I will probably read the two sequels, but I hope there is a bit more plot action. This one got exciting at the end, but before that it was a bit boring.
Really badly written, I felt cheated after reading the books this author wrote with Tracy Cooper-Posey, I one clicked on the series and wish I hadn’t. There was no character development, why they were falling for each other was unclear. The heroine gave up her virtue almost immediately and was a bit of a wet blanket. They plot twists felt contrived and hysterical. I wish I hadn’t bought it. Yuk
This book has promise but there are a couple of historical inconsistencies that might turn off readers. Also i liked the couples but found it completely unbelievable that they were kissing and fooling around within 5 minutes of meeting. There was no spark other than physical for the first half of the book. It didn’t seem plausible.
I really like Historical Romance and when you throw in Erotica it just kicks it up a notch or in the case of this book, 3 stars.
The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ page does not depict this story.

Hey fellow readers I don’t summarize the books (as there are always great full summaries written that I read myself).
I only give it my personal, general, summary of 5 stars to 1 star.
3 stars: This book is worth a read but didn’t really have me excited about interacting with the book where I could not put it down. It lacks the excitement and well roundness of my personal markers for a great read throughout the book.
Development and interest in main characters, secondary characters, humorous, movement of the book, writing/conversation and romantic/sexual content (1-2 scenes or too much unnecessary).
Read it once and that is enough for me.
However, if this book is part of a series, I would read the next book (pervious book) in the series as it would still peek my reading interest.
I’ll continue reading from this author. I wouldn’t cross the author out of my potential reads in the future.
I surprisingly enjoyed this book. It actually had a story and the characters were interesting. It was light and easy reading with thorough details about aspects of an aristocracy country party that aren't explored in other HR books but not so much so that it was boring. I felt like the H/H relationship came on a bit to fast...I would have preferred more build up but at the same time, the rapid progression of the primary story line allowed for a lot space to explore the sub-characters. I enjoyed reading about them.
I don't think I would call this book Historical erotica. There was one scene that was a little naughty and hot but otherwise it had your standard encounters in HR.
This is an old story with new characters and a little different setting.....nothing truly outstanding...nothing remarkable. Loads of sex and basic plot. Three gorgeous brothers, all rakes with notches on their belts, living to sow their wild oats in Victorian England. Their mother decides they must find brides and carry-on the familial line much to their consternation. The writing is fair...nothing to rave about given the worn subject matter. No recommendation.
Ok yes I read this and well, I actually enjoyed it. You have to kinda be willing to just try something if it is erotica. I just sounded interesting so, I gave it a shot. I actually liked the storyline to a point. I would not give it a five star since, well I've never read an erotic love story lol. I just wanted to be brave and try it.
WOW! This is a erotica historical romance. It seems I am in to these books right now ;o) Good story, lots of good s*x and kept me interested in finding out more of the other 2 brothers. Happy reading!
