In this book, the author introduces readers to the Taoist water Breathing meditation. This book is similar to his other book Relaxing into Your Being. If anything it's a bit more stripped down and focuses on the basics, but its a god book to start with and I'd recommend it because the author takes the time to explore how to apply this technique to internal work and emotional blockages that's a bit more grounded than his other books on the same topic. I found it useful for revisiting what I'd previously learned and it will also be helpful for anyone who wants to learn meditation.Ìý

I came back to this book a couple of times the past years. I enjoy the general type of meditation but I don't really care about all the different variations he talkes about. He is quite critical of the world but it does not really add anything of value.

I use the meditation quite regularly. Have I noticed any improvements? Not more then other types of meditation but I like the clarity and assume it's possible to go a lot deeper with consistant practice.

This book starts out explaining the basics of meditation, but the second half was particularly interesting to me, as it laid out some very specific meditation techniques I've found really valuable in helping me fall asleep and dissolve tension and anxiety in my body.

It's actually pretty good. I didn't expect that from reviews, but I really liked it. I recommend it to everyone, easy to understand and apply.

I found interesting:
-the recap at the beginning of all the various types of meditation and the difference with contemplation.
-the torture similitude applied to self investigation (if you were tortured, would you want to know why, or for it to stop?).
-the part about depression and fog.
-the part about anger, and the break down of extended family, a past refuge for kids, was insightful.
-the part about emotional pain, and the need to let go of the causes

I must have phased out while he explained the ice to water, water to space mantra because at a certain moment, when I was interested, I had no idea what he meant with it.

The speaker sounds often annoyed/sassy, it's a bit annoying sometimes, probably because he sounds young.

easy to understand if any one has read other books by bruce frantzis then some things are repeated, such as the spin stretch and sitting techniques not for the novice on meditation. easy to understand if you have experience with energy work and creative visualization. great step by step meditations that lead you into more advanced meditations. helps if you've read some of his other stuff or at least know what meditation is and have practiced it.
