As a reading teacher, I gained a lot of useful information from this book. A few months later, though, I attended a training about dyslexia, and the presenters there said that the programs advocated in this book have low effect size on helping struggling readers. Still a worthwhile read, but get information from other sources, too. Do not make this text your “bible for reading instruction.
