Turns out Yule Be Mine is a collection of Foster's short stories and a pretty good collection too. Fun and sexy with lots of humor, sweet declarations and characters finally winning over the ones they love.

One of the things I love about Foster's short stories is that even though things get hot and heavy right away all the couples have known each other for months, if not years, before anything starts up. Makes them so much more believable and to me a lot more enjoyable to read. If you love Foster and are looking for something you can quickly pick up and finish in one sitting Yule Be Mine is definitely one to check out.

He Sees You When You're Sleeping (55pgs)
Heh, okay so kinda a creepy title but a nice short, quick read that's pretty cute. Booker Dean has his sights set on unwrapping his next door neighbor, Frances, for Christmas. She's been secretly lusting after him for months too but doesn't know he's finally broken up with his cheating girlfriend and is free for the taking. I loved the friendship between the two and how feisty Frannie was with him. She wasn't about to do anything with him when she thought he still had a girlfriend and damn if she didn't stop him in his tracks. Love a girl with morals! Just a fun friends to lovers story with a lot of laughs. The secondary characters were great too and provided some highly embarrassing background entertainment.
"If you'll just settle down and listen, I'll explain." Cautiously, he turned her around so she faced him. Then, before she could protest, he looked at her mouth, appeared drawn there and he started kissing her again, light, teasing kisses. "I swear, Frannie, you have the sexiest mouth."

"In about two seconds, I'm going to unman you with my knee." He released her and stepped back so quickly, she almost smiled. "Now, if you insist, you can explain while you help me move my stuff."

White Knight Christmas (53pgs)
This one was pretty good too. It's hard to get a full story in in only 50 pages but Foster manages very nicely. Parker Ross really doesn't like Christmas and his much younger neighbor Lily Donaldson who lives for it is about to do him in with her good cheer. I really liked both characters who've been crushing on each other for months without the other knowing it. Parker thinks he's way too old and hard for the young, sweet Lily and she's determined to finally have him. I loved Lily. She's blunt about what she wants (Parker), bubbly and not at all what he thought she was. I about died when he told her his initial impression of her and her weird behavior. This one's funny, sweet and while the last bit was oh so corny and had me rolling my eyes I had a big goofy grin on my face the whole time.
"I figured you for a hooker."
Lily blinked at him.
Neither of them moved.
Even Elvis quit singing...
"A hooker?...What a dilemma for you, Detective Ross. Here you are, the quintessential defender against evil--"
"Knock it off, Lily."
"The epitome of all that's good--"
Growling, he said, "You're asking for it."
"A regular White Knight, and you thought the damsel in distress was a soiled dove."...Taking him by surprise, Lily drew up short, pulled him around, and threw herself into his arms. "You're precious, Parker, you really are."

Do You Hear What I Hear (111pgs)
Now this one I LOVED! Sergeant Osbourne Decker's boss asks him to look out for his sister-in-law Marci over the Christmas holiday because she thinks someone is stalking her. She may be hot but Osbourne is off crazy women. And ones who think they're pet psychics and steal donkey's from nativity scenes are so on that list. The characters are great, funny, sweet and cute together. I loved that Marci's a little kooky and talks with animals. That she gets him all flustered and off kilter. With pilfered donkey's, a pet psychic and two crazy rescued dogs thrown into the mix things could get a little outlandish but I love it. It's a nice, satisfying read and pretty steamy and humorous to boot. You never quite know what's going to come out of her mouth and Osbourne's inner dialogue/thoughts were fantastic. He turned out to be an amazingly sweet hero. Loved the whole thing.
The donkey nibbled on his butt.
"What the hell!" Leaping a foot, Ozzie jerked around. The donkey was right THERE, not two inches from him, his ears laid back and his big brown eyes soulful. How had the damned thing moved so silently?
"He's just being friendly." Marci shared that special smile that felt like a caress. "He likes you."
Appalled, Ozzie said, "He likes my ass." And he backed out of the donkey's reach.
"I do, too."
No, no, no. He wasn't about to touch that one. "It'd help if you'd just be quiet, Marci."
Unaffected by his dark mood, she laughed. "Lighten up, Osbourne. It's not my fault, or the donkey's that you have such an irresistible bod."

The Christmas Present (108pgs)
This one is part of Foster's Brava Brother's series which is one of my favorites. Beth Monroe decided to get back at her cheating ex-fiance by having a fling with his best friend Levi and now Levi, who has had a crush on her forever, refuses to give her up. Oh the drama, right? So Lily runs home to her family and Levi takes up the chase. Some serious sparks/passion fly between them and her whole family is there for the show. I loved getting to see all the past characters and how they were doing. Levi was one of my favorite heroes. He's been pining away for Lily for years but never let on because she was with his best friend and he'd never cross that line. This man loves her something fierce and it's something to see. The ending wrapped up a little too pretty for me but it's a lovely heartwarming read none the less.
"Back then," he whispered, "I guess I was into masochism, because being there with you, so close when you were so untouchable, was pretty torturous."
In the same whisper, Beth asked, "So why did you do it?"
"Because not being with you was worse."

Each story was a good Christmas short novella. I enjoyed all of them. If you are a fan of the Guthrie Brothers series then you will love the last story in this book. It's primarily about their sister/half sister but will catch you up on what happened to the brothers and all the other familiar characters from both books.

I've read all these stories in other anthologies. It's interesting that they are all so different. I loved 3 of them and especially loved the one with the pet psychic. The 4th story was luke warm for me, but I suppose we can't have everything sometimes.

I'd reccomend this book as a sure-fire holiday collections for readers who like the basic romance story with a dash oh hot sexin'.

Shallow reason for disliking this book
The names! Booker, Axel, Osbourne? Frances?? And I just can't read Parker as a guy name anymore (at least not in a romance novel). I kept getting confused and thinking Parker was the heroine's name, and then having to reread parts because they made no sense.

I couldn't bring myself to read the third story, because I just can't take a pet psychic seriously.

Less Shallow Reason For Disliking This Book
Why did everyone feel the need to immediately push for a marriage? I understand that they'd all known each other for a while, and were friends previously. But they'd been each been "together" for less than two days (and usually less than 24 hours), when one character started pushing HARD that the other agree to marriage. What?? I understand they're in love, and feel like they've met their soulmate and all that, but still... give the other person a chance to get used to it! Take some time, get used to being together as a couple, and let it come up a little more naturally. Seriously, if you're convinced you're meant to be together, they other person isn't going to go anywhere - there's no rush! And if they are going somewhere, pressuring them into marriage isn't the solution. Which leads me into

Un-shallow Reason For Disliking This Book
Apparently "consent" is not something this author has heard of, or finds important. No means no, people! Even if you're in love, and even if you think the other person is wrong. No means no! Back off! In the three stories I read, there was always one person who was more cautious, and not quite ready to jump in with both feet. They kept asking for more time, but the other person was super pushy about them getting together (and declaring they would get married). Yeah, it all worked out, but would things have really been dramatically worse if the pursuer had just backed off and given the object of their affection a little time and space to think? They'd come to the same conclusion eventually, but wouldn't have been shoved into it.

I just kept thinking how if circumstances/feelings were slightly different on the part of one of the characters, this would have quickly turned from "love story" to "aggressive sexual harassment, or worse." Not cool, man.

Yeah, I won't be reading more of this author's books. The writing was fine, but the entitled attitude of people in love and their lack of respect for consent totally turned me off.

Mini Review:
In this anthology of four short stories by Lori Foster, expect some long winter nights filled with heat that doesn't come from the fireplace. *winks* (How is it that I'm totally capable of cracking myself up with my own corniness?)

The stories, He See You When You're Sleeping, White Knight Christmas, Do You Hear What I Hear, and The Christmas Present all contained Fosters signature balance of tantalizing sexy times and off the wall, kooky humor.

Not really much else to say because Yule Be Mine wasn't mind blowing but it wasn't bad either. I was a bit surprised and almost disappointed to find that each short story was very similar. Boy secretly pines for girl, and she secretly pines back. Add in a lonely Christmas and sprinkle in some snow. Mix until confession of love is consistent. Bake at 360 for twenty minutes, then let cool until diamond engagement ring is ready to wear.

Fun stories to nibble on for the holidays. If you don't have a chimney for Santa to come down, you can read this to keep warm. But it might put you on his naughty list. (LOL! Again, killing myself with my own corny!)

I was searching for the Lori Foster book that had the short story about a woman seeking a revenge "night" with her ex's best friend...and yup, this book is a compilation of a bunch of great Lori Foster shorts. I also loved the story about the cop who didn't like Christmas until he got some convincing.

I love Christmas, I love reading and I love anthologies...so it goes without saying that I loved this book. I noticed that I hadn't put of a review and that was likely an oversight when I was going through my stack of books on the bookshelf and just adding and adding and adding one weekend.

But without a doubt, this one is in my trailer's bookshelf for "perfect" re-reads and "best" lenders (when others borrow or stay over in our trailer and are looking for a great read)!

That, Lori, is a street gang activity! enjoy~

He Sees You When You’re Sleeping - 3.5 / 5 - Booker Dean has been in love with his neighbor, Frances for about a month now, but he hasn’t been able to make his move because he’s been trying to end it with his current girlfriend. When he finds out his soon to be ex-girlfriend made a move on his brother, Booker has the green light and finally goes after the girl he loves. This was really quite short. Sexy and kinda sweet and sexy at the same time, but not a whole lot happening here. Hardly any angst since both Booker and Frances love each other, but there’s her fear of being a rebound and then the little goof-up with her seduction attempt. It’s worth a read. I will say though, that this story had me reevaluating Axel Dean (I accidentally read his story first) - finding out that he’s such a horn dog that he got his brother’s permission to sleep with his brother’s ex-girlfriend and then went out and did it that night - Blech. Obviously Booker didn’t care, but it’s still pretty crass to even want to have sex with a woman your brother was in a relationship (and having sex) with.

White Knight Christmas - 2 /5 - This one was kinda ridiculous and tough to believe. Parker is a tough, cynical cop who hates Christmas gets off his shift and just wants to be left alone. Lily is his chipper, do-gooder neighbor who follows him home and gives him the 3rd degree about not having asked her out when he’s already told her he hasn’t slept in 24 hours. Then she proceeds to basically seduce him, despite his protests - yes, he wants her, but he has reasons for not wanting to start anything with her, which she ignores...not that he minds afterwards. But I didn’t care for it. There’s assertive and then there’s annoying. She’s definitely the latter. It didn’t feel like she was showing him how great happiness could be or anything, it felt like she saw his personality and decided she’d force him to be happy or something. This kinda thing is done often, but this didn’t feel right...like non-consensual happiness forcing or something. I wanted to slap her and tell her to leave him the fuck alone. Other issue is that she has a serious case of hero worship, which she mistakes as love. She wants forever with a guy that she hardly knows - she knows he’s a cop and that he’s kicked guys away from her doorstep before. That’s it. But the worse was that Parker, after acting like he was annoyed with her this whole time, suddenly decides that he’s always loved her and isn’t Christmas the greatest? Way too sudden for that turn around. So yeah, not my favorite. Plenty of sex though.

Do You Hear What I Hear? - 2 /5 - So Marci is a pet psychic. Yes, really. Osbourne is a cop whose buddy asks him to keep an eye on Marci while he’s away on his honeymoon with marci’s twin sister. Osbourne agrees - he’s super attracted to Marci, thinks she’s sex on legs, but he’s really wary because he thinks she’s a fricking nutcase. He really does - and he doesn’t think it lightly either. But he’s thrown together with her and starts to realize that maybe she’s just eccentric instead and maybe she’s okay afterall. Actually it felt more like what he ends up thinking is that her sanity is no deterrent from getting into her pants. And he does...with his super monster wang. This didn’t really work for me at all. It came down to the fact that, from the start, Osbourne has no respect for Marci, thinks she’s cute, but crazy and all he wants is to have sex with her. Then, out of absolutely nowhere, after they’ve had sex, he invites her to stay with him, long-term. Then all of a sudden, he believes she’s psychic and he’s in love with her. It felt so unnatural in its development. And it never felt like Marci had any reason to really like Osbourne either.

The Christmas Present - 1 / 5 - Beth was engaged to be married when she caught her fiancee, Brandon, making out with a girl in a hot tub, so she decides to enact some revenge and sleep with his best friend Levi. She doesn’t realize he’s been in love with her forever and when they have an absolutely incredible weekend together, she freaks out and runs. He won’t let her get away from him until she accepts that they love each other and are meant to be together. And of course, they still have to tell Brandon. So this was just mildly bad at first. Beth is pretty annoying with her wishy washiness and inability to accept that she feels passion and pleasure when she has sex, but in her defense, she’s dealing with some pretty crazy emotions and she can’t get a frickin moment to herself. Because then there’s Levi who is practically a stalker. He will not give this girl any space and refuses to see how she could actually need some time and space given that she’s just put herself into a hell of a mess only hours out of a broken engagement. I think maybe a little patience on his part was in order. In fact, I seriously question his integrity for the simple fact that he took Beth up on her offer to have sex just because she wanted vengeance against her fiancee. He doesn’t stop to think maybe Beth’s mind isn’t in the right place at the moment or maybe she could still work things out with Brandon given a little time or that maybe she should first resolve that relationship before starting a new one. No, he chucks any feelings of loyalty and friendship right out the window, without even talking to Brandon and when Beth hadn’t even talked to Brandon either. He not only makes it impossible for Beth to even salvage a relationship with Brandon and goes after what he wants, damn the consequences for her (and he still believes she loved him, so that makes it even worse). This tells me he doesn’t care for Beth’s happiness - real love would mean wanting what’s best for HER, even if that means saving her relationship with Brandon (in this case it wasn’t, but he never even checked). Just give her some time man, you’ve waited this long, what’s another month or two? And it was only mildly bad up to this point. And then we get the confrontation with Brandon and it gets worse. Brandon throws out the betrayal and stabbed in the back stuff and he’s right, but he’s obviously drunk and sounds like an arrogant ass (and Levi feels absolutely no guilt for his actions...doesn’t even want to hear his best friend’s explanation). Then he comes back the next morning and does the cheesiest most asinine thing ever. He says that in reality he knew he wasn’t good enough for Beth and that she deserves the best, which is so very obviously Levi so can’t he be the best man at their wedding? You’ve got to be fucking kidding me with that. He completely forgives his “best friend who jumps into the sack with his ex-fiancee only hours after they “broke up and even ends up happy for them.

This book is a collection of holiday stories all written by Lori Foster. If you're looking for 4 short stories, that are witty and romantic then you've found the right book. These type of books, I find, are excellent choices during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season as it's easier to start and finish a story when they're mini.

Now if you're searching for an in-depth romantic holiday story, then this book is not for you. As I said, it contains 4 short stories, which make them quick, light, easy to read, and not really a lot of detail to the background, character history, or even specifics on location.

However, Lori Foster still does a stellar job of presenting her characters and their stories. So much so, that even though she has less than 100 pages per story, I found myself enjoying them all.

The first selection is about 2 friends, who are interested in being more than friends, but can't because one of them is dating somebody. The fun begins once Booker is finally single. I actually found myself laughing, quietly but laughing, in 2 places during this story.

The second selection, I unfortunately found just a little too sappy and gushingly unbelievable for my taste. The story tries to "parallel" the Grinch, and in doing so just comes across as cheesy. I was thanful this was the shortest story in the book.

The third story was a good one. I was once agained reminded of Foster's delectable ability to write phenomenal bedroom scenes. Here is where the paranormal aspect came into play as Marci is a pet psychic. Usually these types of characters can be difficult to write realistically with them coming across as believable and intruguing. However, Foster pulled it off with panache.

The last story, I thought I wasn't going to like. Initially, I thought that Beth was going to be one of those heroines who annoys me with her constant questioning of her self, her self-doubt skyrocketed through the story, and her idiotic self-loathing. However, Foster pulled it around when she didn't leave Beth in this dilemma for very long, by providing Beth with wonderful female family members who were able to pull her head out of her ...butt.

Overall, I guess it's obvious, that I liked the book (with 1 exception). I would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a quick holiday read that's light, entertaining, and easy to fit into the chaos of the holidays.

NYT best-selling author Lori Foster has a reputation for writing deliciously hot yet heartfelt chick lit-y kind of contemporary romance material, and she lives up to her reputation with this series of four Christmas novellas.

In He Sees You When You’re Sleeping, Booker Dean has had his neighbor Frances on his mind for months, and vice versa. They’ve been “friends, but each has been involved with other people. In under 50 pages, Foster manages both a sweet love story and a hot consummation.

Parker Ross is a jaded detective, and Lily Donaldson seems to be a sappy, warmhearted, do-gooder in White Knight Christmas. Lily manages to wake more than the Christmas spirit in Parker.

Do You Hear What I Hear is another story that involves a police professional, this time a member of the SWAT team. Ozzie Decker suspects his sister-in-law’s sister, Marci, of not only being a kook (she claims to be an animal psychic), but a donkey thief.

I loved the story. The tension between Ozzie and Marci is perfect, the sex is hot, and the humor is wonderful. It turns out Marci did indeed steal the donkey from the manger scene, but for the best of reasons, and Ozzie is not compromised in his profession by helping her return him to his proper owners (the donkey’s not Ozzie’s).

The last story in the quartet is The Christmas Present, and it’s a lovely way to close the book. Beth Monroe has had payback sex with her ex-fiance’s best friend. At least, that’s all it was supposed to be, but for Levi it was more than that. Beth has run away to her families roadside motel, but to her initial surprise, Levi has followed her. This is a hard premise to pull off, because on the one hand, it highly resembles too fast rebound sex, and on the other, stalking, Foster pulls it off and makes it look like long disguised true love.

All in all, this book makes a great stocking stuffer, or even under the tree.

This is a Christmas themed collection of short stories by Lori Foster. Overall I will say that I liked it. Her writing style, flow and descriptions were very good. I was just disappointed by the length of the stories, I would really have loved more.

He Sees You When You're Sleeping
Booker wants out of his current relationship because he has fallen hard for his neighbor and friend, Frances. This story skipped the relationship building because the couple are already friends. That I think is what stumbled me, I would have liked to witness it first hand.

White Knight Christmas
Officer Parker Ross hates Christmas, while Lily Donaldson, his neighbor loves it. Among other issues for these two is her hero worship and their age difference. I am not sure what it was about this one but something just didn't work for me.

Do You Hear What I Hear
Sergeant Osbourne Decker thinks Marci Churchill is a kook, and he wants nothing to do with that since his last relationship. However is ridiculously attracted to her. She also wants Decker, but he fights it hard. Really this had more time to develop but again was lacking something. I am suspecting there is a theme of prickly men that annoy me.

The Christmas Present
Levi and Beth had an out of control weekend after Beth discovered that her fiance cheated on her. Since then she has been running from Levi, ashamed of herself. Levi doesn't want it to be over. This story was another hard one to get into. I was uncomfortable with the stalkerish behavior of Levi, the bases were covered with her family present and at some point I got into it. The other thing is I think this goes with a series I haven't read.

Once again I will say these short stories were well written and have good flow, I just wish they were all longer. Overall a pretty decent holiday read.

This is a fun collection of contemporary Christmas time romance novellas one of which lets us visit with characters from Foster's series.

The stories in here were all pleasurable. They were perfect little bites of holiday love. One member of each couple was just waiting for the right moment to court the other and all were steadfast in their devotion.

Booker Dean knows exactly what he wants for Christmas: his next-door neighbor, Frances Kennedy. And he's got a gift planned for her that involves lots of delicious unwrapping.

This one is fun. There is lots of crushing on his neighbor and chemistry.

Officer Parker Ross hates Christmas, while Lily Donaldson lives for it. But he's willing to be converted, especially when Lily is the one doing the persuading.

Lily is the neighbor in pursuit in this one. We have an older hero and the younger woman at play her.

Sergeant Osbourne Decker suspects pet psychic Marci Churchill is barking mad, but she's also a knockout. And when she's accused of stealing a donkey from the local nativity scene, he can't stop thinking about frisking her.

This one is a fun romp.

Furious at her cheating fiancé, Beth Monroe decides to enjoy a payback tryst with his gorgeous best friend, and finds that revenge is best served hot and sweet. . .

My favorite of the bunch because he have a hero that has always loved her and wonderful family dynamic,

Yikes! Way too cheesy for my liking. Rolled my eyes so many times and even skimmed a few scenes because they were a bit silly.
I felt like the romance in each story didn't quite get there. Our 4th hero was pushy and frankly I thought stalker-ish (her dad even asked if he was stalking her)
We have a heroine that is a pet psychic? And not a paranormal romance kinda story, she just talked to the animals and he thought she was crazy and called her a fruitcake and nuts. Also he mentions the extra large magnum that he needed because of his size, that always makes me roll my eyes.
Every character from the 4 stories included in this book annoyed me to be honest.
Definitely not for me.

He Sees You When Your Sleeping and Do You Hear What I Hear

Even though this was a 4 story book, I only read these two.

Booker and Francis come from two broken relationships but come together after years of wanting each other. Booker has a brother , Axel who opens up the door to allowing Booker to make his move on Francis.

Do You Hear What I Hear

Osbourne gets asked to watch over his friend's wife's twin sister who is the towns pet pychic but gets told to not do anything to hurt her. Instead he ends up protecting her from a crazy news reporter all the while trying to get to know her and understand her.

These were fast, fun holiday-themed romances, and that was exactly what I was looking for when browsing my bookshelf. So, I’ve previously mentioned that I found “White Knight Christmas to be problematic. No means no and it doesn’t matter whether it’s a man or a woman saying it. To be honest, it’s a reminder that maybe all of the stories in this anthology need. The reason they didn’t stand out as much as this one did is that the approaches in those others aren’t as overtly sexual. Overall, I thought the stories were fun. They’re on the lighter, fluffier side, it just appears that my preferences have shifted a bit from the time I first read this.

A cute, fun read you can enjoy any time of year (not just the holidays although all the stories take place around Christmas). I enjoy Lori Foster's short stories, mostly because there is little build up and gets right to the good parts. But, with some of these stories I really wish they were full books. I would have loved to see the beginning of Levi and Beth as well as Oswald and Marcie. I was most excited about seeing some well loved characters from one of her series pop up in the last story.

Meh. Found the fast pace of the relationships a little unbelievable. Each story was a little longer than the previous, and the additional time made the progression easier to believe, but the last (AKA slowest) story was a week from, "Oh, wait, we aren't platonic at all!" to "We're getting married!" And only two days of that was on-page. So the collection was nice, but overall not something I found especially realistic. But who's really looking for realism in their Christmas-themed romance?

Gets you in the Christmas mood.

Booker and Lilys story is why I love this book...the other two stories are good, don't get me wrong...but Booker and Lilys story really get me in the Christmas spirit. I always pull it off the shelf the day after Thanksgiving.

This was a really sweet anthology full of Christmas cheer, sexy characters, and steaming romance. I loved that all of the couples had a history together, so it was easy to believe that they'd fall for one another so quickly.

Definitely a wonderful and highly recommend holiday read!

All three stories are great books. All about holiday spirit. The characters were just so fun and creative. Storylines were short but they were really good and I enjoyed all the books thanks

Well. That wasn’t what I was expecting in any way. I’ve decided I don’t like a bunch of short stories in a book. The first one nearly made me stop reading but they did improve. I also would not call this a Christmas book which was a let down. It was. Intense.
