Alana Simmons is obsessed. She had a number of ho-hum frustrating experiences with BDSM. They've whetted her appetite, leaving her hungry, wanting more, needing more. So, with her usual determination, she seeks ultimate experience with reclusive trainer Sir Ethan Kendall. Alana's persistence intrigues Ethan. She'll get more than she bargains for if she comes to England, Ethan informs her. He's not into dabbling, he's serious about his subs embracing the entire experience, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Certain that's what she wants, she follows his directions, landing on British soil where she's met by his chauffeur, the compelling Thomas. Although she'd convinced herself she was prepared for every possibility, Alana could never have imagined everything the men would demand from her. Her life will never be the same. This book contains M/M sex as part of a polyamorous relationship

Nice story, easy to follow. Alana was forced to re-evaluate what she wanted by both Ethan and Thomas. The writing and characters kept me engaged in the story.
a hell of a ride...If you have blood pressure problems or heart stuff going on->>DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES READ THIS BOOK...if you don't....then you're all set^^
The beginning starts Alana, the main character, just arriving in England to meet with Ethan, the master Dom that has reluctantly agreed to train her. He has refrained from it in recent years for personal reasons, but Alana insisted that only he could help her. From the airport to the end of the story, she battles with the demands he places on her as a submissive. No aspect of her life is left untouched by his control.
There are other secondary characters under Ethan's employ that play important roles as well which helped to add more depth. Despite the length of the novel, character development was good. I couldn't exactly buy the idea of her falling in love under the circumstances and so quickly, but the story was definitely one of the most erotic I've ever read. If your into this genre, you should really enjoy this book.
Alana has always fantasized about being a true submissive. Her submissive experience up to now has left her dissatisfied. She wheedles and cajols her way into being trained by Sir Ethan Kendall for two weeks. His views about submissiion are vastly different from what she knows. She struggles to put aside her rebelliousness and disobedience and submit to please her Master. When her two weeks are up, she's a much improved submissive and Ethan is determined to honor their contract and send her home. Alana may have other plans because she's fallen for her Master and his faithful friend Thomas. Will they keep her?
This Sierra Cartwright book has been my least favorite of all of hers that I have read. The story just did not do it for me. However I love Sierra's work and will continue to read her stuff :)
I'll be honest, my first thought when I read through the reviews on here was to wonder if I read a different book than everyone else. People seemed to like Ethan which I don't understand at all. I will say after looking at Sierra Cartwright's book list and specifically at publication dates this makes a lot more sense. This seems to be one of her first books published which explains why it doesn't measure up compared to the Mastered series, which I have read two books of and love so far. Part way through the book Ethan makes a statement about "breaking down a sub's resistance", in my opinion he seemed to be more interested in breaking her spirit. He asks for her limits, even punishes her for not expressing them, and them basically disregards every one. He shows her absolutely no tenderness and continues to isolate her even though she asks him not to. This was something that I just couldn't get passed. I also hate the use of emotional blackmail in regards to her safeword. A safeword should be something that a submissive is encouraged to use if something is wrong, not something that should be used to taunt them. "Submit or safeword and leave" basically voids consent in my opinion and if I was the type to put a book down unfinished I would have. Full-disclosure I did basically completely skip the scene involving Celia. I have no problem with consensual same sex scenes, the thought of it being forced on somebody was too much for me. While it still wouldn't be my cup of tea, this would probably do well if marketed as erotica, but as erotic romance it doesn't even come close to hitting the mark. There was basically nothing in this that could be considered romantic and when she told him she loves him in the end I was completely confused. If someone was able to love someone who treated them like that, I would suggest they see a mental health professional.
I think I would have liked this a lot more if she went home with a deeper understanding. To me, that would have been a proper HEA to this book. The staying together just felt like it came from out of left field. At the point towards the end when Alana thought she felt something deeper, I really expected that she would walk away and know it was respect for his position to her as a proper Dom, the first for her, was what she felt. Then maybe if she had gone home she could have returned a month later for the forced, I'm staying. I think I could have felt better about the ending, but it just wasn't there for me with the current ending. The whole book came off as training -- albeit less strict than what seemed to be the idea at the beginning of the book, which was a bit disappointing because of the end and lost that training.

I almost didn't read this one, as I hate watching a pushy sub desperate to be trained by a particular master get turned down by him before he relents, but this book starts after all that is done, when they just begin the actual training together.
Very hot, well-done. He's a bit too perfect, but lust inducing. Loved Thomas as well. As with nearly everyone else, I loathed the ending. You could just cut out the last 10 or so pages and have a much better story; it felt like it was slapped on there at the end, to "resolve" things. The author should read Tiffany Reiz's The Gift and learn how to end a short-term BDSM story well. Otherwise, excellent.
Very straight-forward, fast paced story, still very well written and that characters were interesting and just complex enough to keep things interesting.
I would have liked a little more character development but that's my personal preference with pretty much anything. I like dissecting characters and sometimes feel like I don't get enough with books like this.
The main reason I couldn't like this book was because I didn't like Alana...at all! At no point through the whole book could I find it in me to like her. I liked Ethan. I liked Thomas. I didn't like them with Alana.
I liked the interaction between Alana and Eric. Thomas and Alana were great together. I would have given it 5, if there wasn't the Eric and Thomas D/s scenes in the book. Love a dominate male but don't like a submissive male. More of a fan of M/f dynamic rather than a M/f/m situation.
I'd have been more inclined to give this one 4.5 stars (if I could) for the way it handled the emotional aspects. They are too often overlooked or glossed over in this genre.
In this BDSM story Lana Simmons arrives in England from America to be trained by reclusive Sir Ethan Kendall. Chauffeur Thomas collects her from the station and she is immediately directed to throw her precious handbag into a rubbish bin. For two weeks Lana is confronted with many mental, emotional and physical challenges. She can leave at anytime but will she!
Last book of the year and it was a boundary pusher (not mine but definitely hers) This story was absolutely predictable in its ending, for it to end any other way would have been simply mind blowing. My only issue was the time constraint. I felt like everything was rushed and I didn't get enough psychological feedback from Ethan.
