This review is only for Cindy Gerard's "Leave No Trace"...
I don't know how she does it, but with only 115 pages, Cindy Gerard crafted one exciting, smokin' hot, suspenseful, action-packed, romantic read! My only complaint is that it left me wanting more!
Technically, I don't think this can be called one of her Black Ops books, although both the hero (CIA operative David "Cav" Cavanaugh) and the heroine (hospital administrator Carrie Granger) are friends of Wyatt Savage (). "Cav" first appeared in to help Johnny Duane Reed and the BOIs in the rescue of Crystal Dembrowski in Jakarta. Carrie was introduced in as the high school sweetheart of Wyatt Savage who still carried a torch for him.
This book picks up a few months after "Risk No Secrets" and finds Carrie at loose ends in her life and making a humanitarian visit to remote Mandalay, Myanmar with the hopes of starting a dialysis clinic there. After a series of events where Carrie finds herself offering aid to the wrong person at the wrong time, she finds herself arrested, convicted, and sentenced to 10 years of hard labor at a remote ruby mining camp. After not hearing from Carrie upon her arrival in Myanmar, her parents frantically call old friend Wyatt Savage for help. Wyatt is unable to personally search for Carrie, but he calls his old CIA buddy David Cavanaugh, who's stationed in nearby Jakarta, for his assistance. Can he find out what happened to Carrie?
Cav, who's about at the end of his rope as a CIA agent, fighting a battle with alcohol and looking for a fresh start in life, agrees to help out. He finds out that Carrie's been working in a remote prison camp run by the corrupt military for at least a week, and along with Wyatt, hatches a rescue plan. It's going to be tough, but he's determined to succeed. What he doesn't plan on doing is falling for the willowy, blonde, courageous, beautiful southern belle, but Cav has never been one to resist a damsel in distress. Can Cav and Carrie, against all odds, make it out alive without succumbing to the intense feelings they have for each other? Is this a romance novel or what?
Loved it! Cindy Gerard gives us a plausible storyline, plenty of detail about some characters we're already somewhat familiar with (if you've been reading her Black Ops series, that is), some sexual chemistry between two very likable characters, a frightening situation (treated no better than an animal in a labor camp), and a daring, harrowing, shoot-em-up escape (with some cameo appearances from some of the BOIs) that you can imagine as a scene from an action movie. Of course you get the hero with the "she's too good for me and deserves better than me" mindset, the heroine who would love him to stay with her but is too proud to admit her feelings-- but it all works--you just know they'll find their way back to each other when one of them gives in. The only thing missing for me was a big, juicy epilogue, which I'm hoping we'll get in Luke "Doc Holliday" Colter's story, coming up next. This was one fast-paced, exciting and sexy short story. Cindy Gerard continues to be on her game with this one! 4 1/2 stars
This is an anthology of three novellas with characters from the series of different authors. I have read, and loved, both Cindy Gerard and Laura Griffin. Sherrilyn Kenyon is new to me.
Just Bad Enough by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love: 3-Stars Jeremy is nearing the end of a medical leave from B.A.D., a covert government organization. His beautiful, secretive next door neighbor has intrigued him for weeks. CeCe is the daughter of a crime family who wants nothing more than to live a normal life. During her current job as a "statue" at a festival a man hides a flash drive in her costume and the people after the drive are not nice people.
Leave No Trace by Cindy Gerard: 5-Stars OMG! I was so surprised and happy to find two of my favorite supporting characters, CIA Agent David Cavanaugh, and, Wyatt Savage's high school sweetheart, Carrie Granger, find each other and get a novella HEA.
Carrie is in Myanmar, a very dangerous place, to help a local hospital and have an adventure after Wyatt has gotten married. She hasn't even checked onto her hotel and she gets in trouble and is "disappeared" by the government. Cav is an old CIA buddy of Wyatt's and has been fighting burnout and a taste for alcohol. When Wyatt contacts him because Carrie has disappeared without a trace, he uses all his sources to find her.
Unstoppable by Laura Griffin: 4-Stars Forensic anthropologist Kelsey Quinn goes to a remote Texas border region to dig up ancient bones, but ends up unearthing a deadly secret. When Kelsey’s discovery jeopardizes not just her dig, but her life, she turns to US Navy SEAL Gage Brewer, who may be the only person brave enough—and lethal enough—to help.
I liked all 3 stories. The story by Cindy Gerard was my fave since I have read all the other books from the Black Ops series. #3 was good and I will probably look for that series to read. #1 was okay but having not read any of that series I was somewhat out of the loop.
We only got a glimpse of the BOI's as this story was mainly about Wyatt's 2 friends, Cav & Carrie. Cav was the CIA agent who helped out the BOI's when they needed it. Carrie is the girl that Wyatt was dating when they were teenagers and we was introduced to her at the beginning of his story so we already knew who she was.
Being part of an anthology this was obviously a shorter story than we are used to but none the less it was still brilliant. My only wish would have been that we had a longer story and perhaps Cav be drafted into the BOI's with the rest of the guys. I liked both Cav and Carrie and would have liked to see more of them but I suppose it is not to be :(
I can't believe that I have virtually read this whole series back to back....normally I can't do that no matter how much I like the author or am enjoying the series/writing I tend to need a break after a few otherwise I get a bit antsy but with this series it has been plain sailing
I now only have Doc's story and will anxiously await Joe's story at the end of the month.
Just Bad Enough by and Dianna Love (who I honestly have never heard of). This is part of her Bureau of American Defense series. I was able to follow along easily as it seems to be somewhat of a self-contained short story. That being said, for me it was just "meh". I wasn't crazy about either character. He is portrayed as an alpha male but kinda seemed like a wannabe to me. They never really said how old either character is, but she felt young - very young. I didn't like her at all. The writing itself had moments of "cutesy" which I had a hard time reconciling to SK so I'm going to lay that on Ms Love's input. Overall grade: C-
Leave No Trace by I can sum up in 4 words: "Damn that was good!" Ms. Gerard proves once again why she's on my auto buy list. The hero/heroine in this story are side characters from her Black Ops Inc series. Carrie was the woman Wyatt briefly dated "way back when" from his book, and is a family friend. David "Cav" Cavanaugh was a minor player in I believe Reed's book. I've always been a sucker for rescue stories and this one is killer. Their HEA gave me shivers and was awesome! Overall grade: A+++
Unstoppable by This was my first experience with Ms Griffin and it was a good one. She brings to mind a kind of cross between Cindy Gerard, and . Solid story, good character development and just the right amount of romance. This particular story was pretty good, albeit short. I liked all the characters and I wish there had been more of a resolution of the HEA but still, there was one even if its open ended. Overall grade: A-
Due to my not caring for the 1st story, I'm rating this book a 4 star review.
From sultry international jungles to the rugged terrain of the American southwest, join the larger-than-life, scorching-hot alpha heroes of the Bureau of American Defense, Black Ops Inc., and the U.S. Navy SEALs for the pulse-pounding, heart-racing, toe-curling excitement. They’re cool under pressure, steamy under the sheets, and when the enemy strikes, there’s not a lethal mission these gorgeous men can’t handle... Just Bad Enough by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love Leave No Trace by Cindy Gerard Unstoppable by Laura Griffin
Heather's Notes I do not read any of these series, but I liked the stories well enough, even without the background. My favorite was probably the first, "Just Bad Enough" - it worked the best for me. The characters in "Leave No Trace" didn't work for me although it might have been because of the shortness of the story. I will probably look into that series. I also liked "Unstoppable" and will definitely be checking out more in that series. I did not like that it never really explained what happen in the helicopter. I don't need graphic details, but I would have liked a more explanation.
Deadly Promises by Sherrilyn Kenyon, Dianna Love, Cindy Gerard, and Laura Griffin Romantic Suspense- Sept. 28th, 2010 4 stars
This anthology includes 3 solid reads; my favorite is Laura Griffin’s Unstoppable. In this book 2 of the stories are a part of an ongoing series. Laura Griffin continues her Tracers series and Sherrilyn Kenyon/Dianna Love continue their BAD series.
Unstoppable In Unstoppable Laura Griffin writes a story that is part of her exhilarating Tracers series. This story starts out with action that immediately caught my attention. Gage is a navy SEAL who has been injured. While recovering he is asked by his commanding officer to guard his niece, Dr. Kelsey Quinn. Kelsey is working at an archeological dig where a woman has been shot nearby and there has been a break in. But she believes in her work and knows she can take care of herself. She resents the sexy Quinn ‘babysitting her. But when they find fresh, new bones instead of old ones and a secret tunnel both realize that something dangerous is going on. But can they solve the mystery before the killers find them? This was a thrilling suspense novel from start to finish. It was also the most interesting of the 3 stories. I was amazed the author was able to build such an exciting multi-layered plot in such a short story. It didn’t hurt that Gage is tough and way HOT! Plus Kelsey is very feisty and a heroine after my own heart. 4 ½ stars
Leave No Trace In Leave No Trace Cindy Gerard demonstrates her mastery of the suspense thriller. David Cavanaugh is tired of his undercover work for the CIA. He desperately wants to retire but when a colleague asks Cav to find his missing friend (Carrie Granger) he reluctantly agrees. Cav arrives in Myanmar where he discovers Carrie has been caught up in a bungled arrest. To cover up their mistake the government has thrown her in their ruby mines where she labors as a virtual slave. To free her Cav must pretend to work with the corrupt government in Myanmar. Can Carrie learn to trust him or will this rescue mission end in tragedy for them both? This was an exhilarating read and one where I could feel the tension between the 2 characters and the storyline. Cav was a dashing hero and Carrie was believable. I really felt for both of them and they had a wonderful chemistry. 4 ½ stars
Just Bad Enough- part of their BAD series In Just Bad Enough we meet undercover agent Jeremy Sunn. Jeremy has the hots for CeCe. But as part of his cover he has a rap sheet a mile long. He acts the playboy with a series of women. But since he met CeCe he wants a real relationship. Unfortunately, she seems to be putting him off. CeCe has secrets of her own. She has ties to criminals that she has been running away from. When CeCe unknowingly hides an important memory disc she and Jeremy must fight a deadly killer who wants it. But what will happen when gun shy CeCe finds out about Jeremy’s fake criminal history? Will their deception and lies destroy their budding relationship? This was a fast read and I really liked the hero. He was definitely sexy and noble. But I didn’t like how CeCe treated him. Her excuses not to be with him did not seem realistic and her character was a little wimpy. I really felt bad for Jeremy, who I grew to care about. Because of this I could only rate this story 3 1/2 stars.

B.A.D. Series story: Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love: 3.5/5
I haven't read anything in this series before and enjoyed this short story.
Black Ops Inc; Cindy Gerard: 4.5/5
I'm glad I read this book because I have a bunch of Black Ops books in my TBR and, since I haven't read any Cindy Gerard, have just been letting them slide. I liked her style and will move these books up my TBR.
Unstoppable, Tracers series: Laura Griffin: 2/5
I originally got this anthology out of the library because I wanted to keep up with the Tracer's series. I would have enjoyed this story except for the fact that near the end, the heroine did the stupidest thing imaginable and I almost stopped reading it. I mean seriously, what was the author thinking? This is the second Tracer's story I've read in a row where the heroine inexplicably loses her mind. Not good. Lets hope that the book coming in the fall is better.
"Just Bad Enough" by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love -- This was my first story by these two #1 New York Times Best Selling Authors and I gotta tell you, I'm really confounded. With credentials like that and with Kenyon's name in red (and larger than the other authors and even the title of the book), I was expecting fabulousness. Instead I got a story that seemed way too contrived and forced and, quite frankly, it was amateurishly written. It felt like I was reading fanfic, not something from two best selling authors. Truly aptly named. Two stars.
"Leave No Trace" by Cindy Gerard -- By far the best written of the three, Gerard teams up Carrie Granger and David Cavanaugh (two characters briefly introduce in her previous "Black Ops, Inc." series) in this nail-biting story that's as suspenseful as it is romantic. THIS is how it's done, Ms. Kenyon and Ms. Love. NOTE TO CINDY GERARD: If I were you, I'd demand top billing next time...You deserve it. Five stars.
"Unstoppable" by Laura Griffin -- This story is about a Navy SEAL ordered to protect an archaeologist whose mom and uncle are worried about her after a shooting death near her dig. Though the premise is shaky and some of the scenes questionable, it is professionally written and held my attention. Not great, but good enough. Three stars.
Bottom line...Definitely read "Leave No Trace". If you have time, try "Unstoppable". If you're bored and have nothing else to read, pass the time with "Just Bad Enough". Overall rating: 3.333 stars.
This review is based only on the Sherrilyn Kenyon short story.
I am just not that big of a fan of romantic short stories. Everything happens so fast and there is very little character development. I'll give SK props for her convoluted style, she introduces facts in a backwards way so that getting to know these characters plays out a bit like a mystery instead of a data dump, but overall, I just don't enjoy the short stuff.
And if the heroine comes from a head knocking Canadian "family", why doesn't her very connection put fear into the heart of the bad guys? Instead that angle never really comes up. Weird.
Ok, another anthology dilema..I give "Just Bad Enough" 3 stars, but the other two novellas both get 5 stars, so I'll go with 5 stars for the book. "Just Bad Enough" was actually kind of bland...Yes, there was action and suspense, but I actually wasn't interested enough in either CeCe or Jeremy to care. And I thought "BAD" was just silly. I loved Leave No Trace." Cav was a great leading man, flaws and all,and the ending was terrific. I also loved "Unstoppable." Laura Griffin was a new author for me and I've already checked out her website to see what else she has written.
Three stories on the anthology, and while I would give the last a 4 stars, the other two were not as good, which surprises me as I like some of Sherrilyn Kenyon's other books.
I really don’t like short stories, mainly because they’re so short and you don’t have time to really connect with the characters and get into the plot before it’s over. But the back of the book is what had me interested, namely this part:
From sultry international jungles to the rugged terrain of the American southwest, join the larger-than-life, scorching-hot alpha heroes of the Bureau of American Defense, Black Ops Inc., and the U.S. Navy SEALs for the pulse-pounding, heart-racing, toe-curling excitement. They’re cool under pressure, steamy under the sheets, and when the enemy strikes, there’s not a lethal mission these gorgeous men can’t handle...
so I picked it up from the library and gave it a shot. Sadly, the book didn’t live up to the hype. The back of the book was over-exaggerated to the extreme.
I barely even have an impression of Just Bad Enough. I actually had to really think hard to what his name was, so that tells you right there he wasn’t “larger-than-life or “scorching hot. I go for a tough, alpha male as much as the next girl, but this was such a disappointment.
All I got out of Jeremy Sunn was that he worked for the BAD and he had a lot of one night stands, and all women ever wanted out of him was sex, which came off as a little hypocritical because that’s all he wanted out of them. He said himself after a few hours with a woman he got restless and left. CeCe, (and I absolutely hated that name,) in contrast had only had sex once, with a boy, (and they made sure to make it clear that he was just a boy and that they were in high school) and Jeremy just miraculously deduced that she had probably only had sex a couple times…anyways, moving on.
She had the career of a live statue and did yoga. She put white paint or w/e all on her body and stood on a platform holding a baby doll, standing perfectly still for over two hours at a time...I'm sorry, I just fell asleep as I was writing that.
Their relationship began when he moved in next door, and they drank ice tea together on the porch, and planted flowers together. Really exciting stuff. Her statue base came up a million times, and I was like this is so stupid. He’s worried about giving her her stupid statue base, and this is just not the kind of stuff that’s important enough to be in a book.
They had some petty insecurities that they kept snapping back to, resulting in them coming off as insecure and sensitive. CeCe was just a little too forward and clingy for my tastes. He thought she was only after him for sex and didn’t think he was good enough for her brother to meet…she thought he was just the kind of guy her brothers wouldn’t like and some more boring crap. Then at the end they’ve got this little drama about their pasts to get past and it was just boring and so run-of-the-mill romance that’s been done a thousand times.
I didn’t like any of the names in here. Jeremy Sunn was just a little too something for me, I don’t know what. They should have called CeCe her full name, Cecelia. That would have been a little better. Vinny is so typical Italian mob it’s not even funny. Then there’s Blade, Ziggy, and Sam the Man, and my personal favorite: Starface. I think of two things when I read this. 1. A complete rip-off of Scarface, the most mob-associated movie after Godfather, and 2. A starfish. I don’t know which one’s worse, copying a really famous name that almost everyone knows or sounding like a cute little, innocent sea creature. Suffice it to say this “tough Starface didn’t come off as intimidating or threatening in the least. He had a star-shaped birthmark on his face (really creative by the way) and it was just such a copy of a facial feature christening a name that all I could think of is Scarface.
The romance scenes kept with the rest of the book in that it was disappointing. They were short and happened very quickly. He kept clenching, and she kept tensing for their first time together, and I was like oh my god, could you not think of a better way to describe things?
Throw in some crude language and unnecessary cussing and you’ve got Sherrilyn Kenyon in a nutshell. As far as the tag-team effort between her and Dianna Love in this story, I can’t see as how it helped much, or why you’d even need two people to produce something like this.
I don’t really even know what to say about Leave No Trace. Short stories just don’t sit right with me. One minute he left and we barely have time to process that before he’s back in her life again and everything’s just perfect, then it’s over.
I instantly didn't like the story. She still liked Wyatt, who was her first love, while he's worried about his pregnant wife and I didn't like that all. Cav had a drinking problem and goes down there to help her after she's been arrested, and the circumstances were just boring and there wasn't one thing I liked in it.
The term “knee-jerkâ€ was used so many times. Knee-jerk reaction to punch someone, her embarrassment was knee-jerk. Then we’ve got him telling her to “take it to the bankâ€ when he promised something. And the whole scene in that tent disgusted me. It was all “for showâ€ but let’s face it, that was unnecessary and over the top. Then there was the whole italicizing and placing an emphasis on things that didn’t need to be. “Now lie back and let the sex fiend indulge in his twisted foot fetish while I take a look at those poor battered tootsies of yours.â€ She still couldn’t believe that this man was actually here to save her. …w³ó¾±³¦³ó ²õ³ó±ð’d initiated but that ³ó±ð’d taken to an entirely different level. This week, after being herded into the back of a truckâ€
Unstoppable was the best story. The guy was more tough and just came off cooler than the others, but it had more boring, uninteresting circumstances just as the previous two did. She looks for old bones, there was some crap about missing people, and it was just so boring.
She goes to find him when he’s in the middle of an op, and just gets in the way like an idiot, so he’s mad at her and she packs up all of her stuff, writes a letter and intends to leave. Then Gage walks in and nothing comes of it. He doesn’t read the letter, she just doesn’t try to leave, and they just have sex like nothing’s wrong. Then at the end she’s being distant because he’s leaving and she’s worried about him being in danger, but she parks on the side of the curb instead of leaving after she drops him off, and he jumps in the car and everything’s A-okay. They agree to see each other when he gets back, and it was just so unfinished for me. The end wasn’t satisfying at all.
The writing was pretty much all the same. Cussing for no reason, bad language, using the same expressions pretty much. In the 2nd one we’ve got “liar, liar, life on fire and in the 3rd there was “liar, liar, pants on fire. .didn’t know anyone still said that, least of all adults. In both of them they were in danger and the women had their hands tucked into the guy’s belts. Both women hurt their feet and the men had to tend to them. They both kissed him and made the first move. The women were supposedly courageous and everything, bringing out their weapons and “helping out but they were just babies to me. They kept asking questions when they should have been quiet and needing to be comforted all the time. Both had a line about it not being the right time and if the circumstances were different it would work, and both of the women had a past relationship that the guys commented on.
These three short stories have only increased my opinion on short stories, and I won’t be reading anymore. The styles of these authors rubbed me the wrong way, and I won’t be reading any more of their work.
Keaton was bound to get the promotion, she was sure of it. The company All Welcome was her idea after all. She put it all together even if Allison was head of the company. Keaton found out her fiance Jonathan had been cheating on her with his ex-wife Allison. (Yes, one and the same as her boss.) When she left him, Allison was ready for her to leave All Welcome. Keaton came home angry and spoke with her mother about what she should do next. At this point her mother and Uncle Lon decided it was time to sell the old homestead. It was built by their great, great, grandfather for his wife. In the years that passed Rebecca and Townsend lived in the estate. Suddenly though after Beck's birthday dinner all stopped. Virginia and Lon, now adults, left the home after a crisis. It was unknown as to what happened, but the Saint-James were presumed murdered at some point in the evening. After being abandoned for years, it was decided that Keaton should go to Beaufort, North Carolina to access the home, clean and hire Alex the caretaker to make repairs. A Happier Life was published on June 25, 2024 by Galley Books. It was present day and historical in storyline. When Keaton arrived at the home aside from finding years of dirt and spider webs, she was entranced by the locals, the ocean and what she felt the old house could return to. It’s a pleasant yet odd story of family secrets. The more I read the more I became involved in Saint-James history. Another excellent book by Kristin Woodson Harvey, an excellent selection - Enjoy!
I have never read anything by Sherrilyn Kenyon or any of the other authors included on the three stories in this book, so wasn't sure how well I would like it, but have discovered that I liked the stories very much. Great plots, spicy romantic scenes, well written and three dimensional characters. Am going to have to look up some more stories from these authors to read.
I picked this one up on Audible and listened to all three selections and even though they are all different there were all great. I do think I have read them before though as I think these were all published somewhere I have but this was great to get on audio and play while working. Definitely would recommend them all.
Just bad enough: 3 stars Leave no trace: 4 stars Unstoppable: 2 stars (I hate reading stories where the woman is stubborn and naïve, thinking she can do anything and steps in where/when she shouldn’t.)
I could only read and enjoy the BAD agency and I was aware and have read other of these stories. I couldn't even get into the other two stories, so I never even finished them.
This review is for Leave No Trace (Black Ops Inc. #5.5) by Cindy Gerard and Unstoppable (Tracers #2.5) by Laura Griffin.
Leave No Trace
Undercover CIA agent David Cavanaugh "Cav" had a brief cameo in Whisper No Lies when he helped Johnny Reed save Crystal from the clutches of a human trafficking ring. Carrie Granger was mentioned in Risk No Secrets as Wyatt's highschool sweetheart. When Wyatt let her down gently and later came back a married man, Carrie was heartbroken. In an effort to get some distance and lick her wounds, she left for Myanmar in her capacity as a nurse. She barely put her foot on the curb when she witnesses a young woman being beaten by some corrupt military personnel. She rushes to the rescue only to find herself arrested, tried and found guilty. The military, realizing their mistake decide to make her disappear and ship her off to a labor camp.
Wyatt contacts his old CIA buddy, Cav, and enlists his help to find Carrie. Cav resurrects his cover identity as a shrewd business man and follows his leads to the mine camp where she's being held. What follows is a risky attempt to break her out of there and get her safely back home. What Cav doesn't count on is falling for the gorgeous and gentle southern belle who turns out to be courageous on top of everything else. For one, he's rattled, but in a good way.
I LOVED this little short story, since I'm already in love with the series and the rest of the Black Ops Inc team. Cav was a bit of a mystery, hot to boot, and a hunky hero in his own right. Carrie was a nice surprise as well. I figured her to be that good girl that Wyatt left behind, sheltered, a goody two-shoes. But she showed tenacity and a lot of spunk. I found their attraction believable, sweet and sexy. If any woman could give Cav a purpose for living (again) it was Carrie.
Unstoppable
This is the first time I've read anything by Laura Griffin, and I enjoyed this short story a lot. Gabe is a Navy SEAL who has been asked by his CO to guard his niece and forensic scientist, Dr. Kelsey Quinn, during her excavation in South Texas. Being so close to the border has made the area dangerous a dangerous place to be. Things heat up between the unlikely couple and the sparks fly.
The plot wasn't too bad for a short story. To really get into it, it probably should have been longer because the attraction seemed a little rushed, but not any less hot and steamy. Based on this alone, I'd read the rest of the Tracers series.
Jeremy Sunn is just dreamy. He works for BAD (Bureau of American Defense) agency. Along with working for BAD, Jeremy also owns his own gym. He’s gone from home a lot when he’s working his primary job but for the past three weeks he’s been recovering from a gun shot wound.
His next door neighbor is Cecilia (CeCe) Caprice. Right from the beginning sparks fly between these two but both are reluctant to start anything with each other. CeCe has several older step-brothers that are a bit overprotective. They tend to run off her love interests and Jeremy being the one night stand type of guy that he is has mixed feelings about CeCe. He’s not really sure where these feelings for wanting more are coming from but when these two finally come together, things sizzle between them.
This is the first story featuring the BAD agents that I have read. I loved it and I’m definitely going to read the first books in this series as soon as possible. The story is well written and the plot is quite good. The sexual scenes are also well written and not overly explicit in nature. The suspense elements kept me turning the page to find out what happened next.
Leave No Trace Cindy Gerard
Although a short one, this story was excellent. The characters and the situations they faced were realistic and the plot was quite good. I love romantic suspense stories and this one didn’t disappoint. This story is loosely connected to Ms Gerard’s Black Ops Inc. series with the hero being David Cavanaugh, a dreamy CIA operative who’s good friends with the boys of Black Ops Inc.
Unstoppable Laura Griffin
As with the first two stories book there’s a dreamy alpha male in this one. In this case it’s Lieutenant Gage Brewer. While having downtime from his last mission, he’s asked by his CO to watch over his niece Dr. Kelsey Quinn. Sparks fly immediately and the more these two are around each other the hotter it gets.
The plot was quite good and again this story was well written. I enjoyed learning all about Gage and Kelsey.
Overall, I really enjoyed all three stories of this book and would recommend it those who love a good romantic suspense. Things are face paced due the length of each of them but they are very well written and I have picked up three new authors that I haven’t read before. I will definitely be reading more of Ms Kenyon’s, Ms Love’s and Ms Griffin’s books.
