Kurt collects action figures. Sam is a rather lame person. Kurt likes to pretend his monsters are destroying things and Sam just sort of watches.
There's also Beach Brenda and Sally and Sam as a female warrior that fights monsters. Sam becomes the hero.
Basically, the entire story is rather strange. I even wrote down the word weird in my notes.
Not my favorite book of the series.
