"Breathtaking imagery and action! E.A. Winters has penned another masterpiece in this third novel of her series.
“Once again E.A. Winters has successfully woven an inspirational character arc into a gripping and surprising plot. I love how she brings such a great sense of closure to each book, yet leaves you desperate to continue the story. This is my favorite one yet.
“If you love fast-paced action with dragons and assassins, this series is a must-read!
“People are complex, but they’re also simple. A person is more than their past. That doesn’t excuse their actions. But we can’t be defined by them, or the past we fear will swallow us forever.
Assassins aren't often framed for murder. But when ex-assassin Semra is falsely accused of murdering a king, she is forced to go on the run.
Rats and Rot. This series is so much fun! Once again, I was glued to my kindle. I couldn’t put this one down. Each book gets better and better. We get a few more POVs in this installment. Just when I thought the game was over, and all hope was lost- a new wave of something wonderful bloomed. Love the characters, the slow burn romance, the banter and the found family. Oh and of course Zaz the dragon- she has spunk. I have devoured this series and I’m not ready for it to end. If you ever wished for a cleaner version of Throne of Glass, with a side of dragons- this might be a book for you. Semra puts off some major Celeana vibes. I love her personality and she’s pretty witty. She continues to grow in each book and has so much loyalty. I can’t wait for the HEA I know is sure to come! Would recommend.
-POVs: Semra (mostly) and then some Tymetin, Avaya, Siler (loved finally getting his perspective!!) and Pidge -Framed/falsely accused -Mystery ailment -Friendships
This book focuses more on relationships/friendships being forged. There's still plenty of action though. Can't wait for the book 4 and the conclusion!
Thank you to E.A. Winters for allowing me to read this. I was given an ARC of Noble Claims in exchange for my honest opinion.
I WAS STRESSED! I blame Winters for my high blood pressure. Semra just can’t catch a break! Yeesh! Also, I wanted to leap through the book and strangle the sister. She sucks. That is all on that. The stakes are higher, the story is faster, and the shock of the ending was well let’s just say I groaned in disbelief. Ok! Go read this! Go!
If you've read Throne of Glass and wanted Dorian and Celeana to end up together, this is the series for you. I know it's only book 3 out of 4, and technically we aren't done, so we don't know 100% that they'll end up together, but the vibes are there.
Every time I thought the stakes couldn't get higher, Miss Winters over here kept pushing them through the roof; I was constantly stressed about what would happen to Semra and Zephan. Their characters have gone through so much growth since the beginning of the series and the way Noble Claims ended set the next book up for some major changes for Semra and the life she knows. I'm excited to see what is in store for her in book 4!
To end with my favorite quote from the book. "No need to beg, Your Majesty" Siler was ready to throw hands when he said this!
Once again this series just keeps me sucked in and on my toes!! I continue to have high hopes for a HEA for Semra and Prince Zephan. How in the world are the characters in this book the same as the characters in Dragon's Kiss!?! Their journey's have had so much pain, grief, and growth! There's a large variety of good and bad with both kingdom's and it made it very easy for me to pick my side within the battle and deceiving predicaments in this series. I am glad that as we move forward the good starts to outweigh the bad when it comes to people crossing paths with Semra. I'm so ready for the last book!!
Semra continues to grow from the child she was forced to be in the mountains as she learns to lead with her heart and opens it up to accept her first friendships! Every time she turns around she has someone else putting a target on her back and as the fierce character she is she never backs down. Zephan is still every woman who never thought they had a shot in life's dream come true. He is genuine and always there when Semra needs him whether she admits it or not. I continue to grow more irritated with Avaya. She's definitely far from a favorite character.
So, Book 3—it's a wild ride. We get to meet a bunch of new characters, and let me tell you, a couple of them really got under my skin. Like, I-want-to-feed-them-to-a-dragon level of annoyance. But hey, that just means the author knows how to make you care, right?
The action might not be as crazy as the last book, but there's something about the story that keeps you hooked. I couldn't put it down, especially towards the end. Yeah, I might have shed a tear or two. Don't judge; it got emotional.
What surprised me was that the main character kinda steps back in this one. Usually, that bugs me, but it worked. Other characters got a chance to shine, and you see different sides of them. It's like the author decided to shake things up a bit, and I'm here for it.
Honestly, I think I liked this one even more than the last two. Maybe it's the twists, maybe it's the characters coming into their own. As I gear up for the last book, fingers crossed that it wraps up this saga just as strong. 📚
Semra just can't catch a break. Framed for a murder she couldn't have possibly committed while on the verge of death. This poison will be the death of her if they can't figure out an antidote. When the magic in her blood from the dragon's kiss was awakened, this became an uncharted sea that they have to navigate. Leaving us all she knows how to do. Maybe this time she won't survive. She has a bounty on her head, contracted assassins after her, and her own body trying to kill her. The odds do not look great. Avaya is working her own angles and none of them seem to include Semra living past the next hour. She is a wild card which nobody will survive.
This book was amazing. I loved the progression and we finally get to see the vulnerable side of Semra that I've been missing. My biggest complaint is the abrupt ending. I could not have waited for that cliffhanger. I was left with so many questions and so many implications that my head was spinning. I am eager to continue this journey with Semra and have hopes for her to finally get peace!
I should not have let this series sit on my shelves for as long as it did. Dragon’s Kiss had me hooked from the very first chapter. This series had so many twists and turns that kept me wanting to find out what happens next. The only thing that kept me from binge reading the series were the ARCs I had to review. One of my favorite characters in this series was Siler. He is the definition of morally gray. Some of my favorite parts in this book included him. I also loved Aviama and I’m so glad she gets her own series (The Melderblood Chronicles). The MFC, Semra, is also morally gray. She often did the wrong thing for the right reasons. She was very protective of those she loved and was loyal to. She had so much growth throughout this series. The ending was so satisfying and I’m glad Semra got her happy ending. I was so sad for this series to end, but I’m looking forward to catching up with Aviama in The Melderblood Chronicles.
What you’ll find in The Blood and Flame Saga: 🐉 Dragons 🐉 Assassins 🐉 Spice free romance 🐉 Political intrigue 🐉 Tough MFC 🐉 Backstabbing Family 🐉 Found family 🐉 Suspense 🐉 Sleeping Magic 🐉 Ancient prophecy 🐉 Awesome fight scenes
Hey so remember when I said that Semra didn’t get enough character development in book one because she felt nothing about the fact that she had killed people? Yeah, she gets development in this book and it’s massively annoying. She’s convinced everyone hates her, that she’s worth nothing, that she belongs nowhere, etc. and it makes her misunderstand a lot of things people say. (a note I made while reading: “Girl chill you have no proof, ur just chronically insecure)
Blaise is yet another girl who may be a victim but she’s still super annoying. Constantly pulling the victim card, ugh. “Oh I know you don’t want to talk to me because you’re frivolous and I’m too serious for other people. Sister stop.
On the other hand, Treq, the best character, is baACK. But only for a few scenes, sadly. Also RIP the other best character .
Good things: fun lines. And I didn’t expect the developments at the end of the book.
Semra has been accused of something everyone expected of her but she didn’t do it this time! She must travel to prove her innocence while battling a heart stopping illness only for her to realize she can’t do it alone. Truth feelings are revealed, trust and loyalty are tested. (No hopes for Siler and Semra, but maybe Pidge and Siler?!? “Dragons and Daylilies! Is she my new favorite character? Yes, yes she is.)
I will admit the ending did feel very rushed considering the rest of the novel was very slow paced. I have so many questions as to what was going on with Siler and Avaya while Semra was dealing with Zephen and the king’s situation. I am also very glad that Zezura is starting to show some personality.
I don’t know if I’m ready for the last book. I’ve gotten too attached and I don’t want to see anyone die anymore!
I'm still really enjoying the journey of this series. They all definitely needed a better copy editor, but the story is great. It doesn't feel like drama for drama sake. This book wrapped up a little quickly with saving Siler, and I wish there had been more from other characters' points of views. The author gave us a bunch of Siler in the middle, and then it all just disappeared.
Also, super sad that Turian dies, and not at all surprising that Semra somehow becomes royalty.
I appreciate that the story itself is very compelling, and through it all, the romance takes a back seat. I like that they finally acknowledge their feelings, but it's still not resolved. The whole series has battled the idea of her legitimacy. I like the slow burn of her starting to accept who she is and if she can be married to a king.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is my favorite book of the series, by far. So many interesting things happened, there wasn’t all the unnecessary angst from the previous book, the new characters brought a lot of life and interest to the story (I thought Pidge was great), and the twist with Semra was much different than what I was expecting at the end of the last book. And I thought I was writing crazy, off-the-wall theories about Avaya in my review of the last book, only to not be super far off! She’s kind of the worst. I wish there was a little more depth to her and her backstory to explain why she is the way she is—I mean, resentment and bitterness can take you pretty far, but I think she’s far surpassed that point, and I’d like to know why, other than her being a narcissistic sociopath.
I’ve read all 4 books in the series and her spin-off series the medlerblood chronicles and can’t wait for book 3 of the melderblood chronicles to be released! I am also currently reading her stand alone novel the forgotten stone. E. A Winters has quickly become one of my favorite authors! Both of her series becoming some of my favorites of all time!! Each book is full of action and writing that brings you right along with the characters! I felt as though I was fighting right along semra! This is a series that will captivate you completely and each book is better than the last! If you love faced paced action with dragons and assassins this series is for you!
In the third book of the Blood and Flame Saga, EA Winters turns up the heat on Semra when she is framed for a crime she didn’t commit. Compelled to run in order to clear her name, Semra must find new allies while weathering tests with previous ones like never before.
Once again, Winters comes through with a fast paced adventure that will have you bounding through the pages and questioning who is truly on Semra’s side until the story is over. The book beautifully sets the stage for the final novel, and I can’t wait to see it through.
This was an interesting ride, and it was definitely more of a character journey than action focused. Semra had to be very vulnerable and eventually came in to her own role. There was a lot of self discovery for multiple characters. That's not to say there wasn't any action. There were tense moments, twists, and surprises, including a deeper connection with Zezura. That slow burn romance is still there, and so is the political intrigue. I was also not expecting it to end where it did, and immediately wanted more!
The third installment of Winters Blood and Flame series picks right up where it’s predecessor, Broken Bonds, left off. Left to grapple with a mysterious illness and the threat of war and other children of the mountain, Semra has more than a full plate without feelings for Prince Zephan complicating matters. Of course, Semra’s life has always been complicated! Filled with heart stopping action, political intrigue, and a dash of “it’s all coming to a head romance, Noble Claims is a read sure to delight any fantasy lover who’s followed Semra’s adventures so far.
Couldn't put it down! If you thought the first two books of the Blood and Flame Saga were good, hold onto your hat because this one is the best yet. Dragons, false accusations, intense trials and accusations, and royal families that are both good and truly horrible. You can really see that Winters is coming into her own in this novel, and I am honestly really excited to see what else she writes!
No language, no s#xual content, 13+ audience recommended. Great read for adults and youth alike.
I love this book series! This book is fast paced and hard to put down. It jumps in right where the second story ended, and the conclusion for this book is better than I ever could have imagined. The opposition she faces from the court and nobles is not easily ended. She is framed for a crime she never committed and her struggle throughout the book to clear her name is relatable. I can’t wait to read the final book in this series.
E.A. Winters thank you for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC reader and for writing another amazing book!
I very much enjoyed reading this next installment of the Blood and Flames saga. Semra showed another level of strength aside from her physical abilities and seeing her character grow in ways even she wasn’t expecting was exciting in a way pure action can’t be. But there was still plenty action! A few new perspectives made for a fun addition as well. And the last line, gave me chills. Can’t wait for the final book!! I definitely recommend this series to anyone who enjoys fast-paced, exciting yet clean, fantasy!
Excellent book! The adventure continues and I’ve been on the edge of my seat all week reading this series.
There is danger and intrigue around every corner. This entire series has been one dangerous situation after another. Things often go wrong, sometimes more than they go right. I understand why this is broken into four books because it would be a HUGE book if it was together. They do pick up right where the last one left off.
I’m excited to see how book four wraps up! I’m starting it right now!
Still enjoying this series. Still clean! So happy about that. The editing in this book has some misfortunes, but I am still enjoying it. It has started to be a bit confusing in some of the turns the story is taking. There may be magic entering the scene which is a turn that I don’t know can be developed well in just one more book. But we will see. Also the FMC has started crying all the time. It hasn’t been overwhelming, but she has been sobbing quite often. Seemingly for the same stuff over and over. But…then again she has had a rough life. Hopefully book 4 she is past all that.
She did it again. I wondered if I’d like each book more than the last and I even worried about it at parts during this…worried where things would go. Worried about people’s fates but alas, wow, fantastic. So much tension and stress and happiness and sadness and shock and joy and sheesh. Just well done AGAIN! I am a tad nervous for the last book TBH but excited all the same and probably a bit sad it’ll all be ending as I love these characters and want to follow theirs life’s forever haha.
This book is a great example of why I love to read fantasy! I love the intrigue, the lore, the world building, the heart, the message; I loved everything about this book! I savoured every word of this book. I am sad that I finished it but wait in anticipation for the next book. Thank E A Winters for affirming my love of fantasy!
The series continues to get better and better. Semra's character continues to be more and more fleshed out and complex, and her growth in this book is special. I love the newest friend as well, and I think the background characters are continually a pleasant treat.
E.A. Winters has penned another masterpiece in this third novel of her series. The imagery is breathtaking and one can almost see, hear, and smell what she is describing. The battle moves that Semra and the others make are realistic and based on martial arts defense moves. I highly recommend the entire series!
I've enjoyed this series from the start. The story building is detailed and immersive. Characters show growth and development. The slow burn romance is fun and engaging, without being aggressive.
However, the editing on this book in particular leaves a bit to be desired. It doesn't affect the story, but it can be distracting.
Each book in this series keeps getting better! I love the plot and how fast pace this one was! I love the relationship between all the characters and I love how Winters switches the character perspective when the story requires it. I can’t wait for what the final book in this story will bring!
Romance: kisses only Language: none Christian Elements: none
Ahhhhhhhhhhh. I really liked this. A couple lines from the beginning where Zephon’s essentially dragging Semra to the infirmary made me laugh. I’m glad everyone’s making sure she learns that asking for help is important.
I quite enjoyed it and am heading straight for the last book. Onward! (Let’s go kick some annoying princess’s butt!)
I loved this book as much as I have the rest of this series! I was thrilled how this story built on the previous ones and cannot wait to continue this series with the final book. Definitely recommend!!
Could not put this one down! Awakening magic, that alone kept me turning the page. Political turmoil! Check and check. I loved the pace of the this book. The continued character growth and new characters was great! Can't wait for the next one.
