Wuthering Heights and a Werewolf...and a Zombie too

Rate this book
Why was Heathcliff's nature so beastly? Why was he such an utter scoundrel? Why...because he was really a werewolf! The classic romance, now with savage werewolf violence! And there may be a zombie lurking about too!

Werewolf and zombie only in the ending for the most part. Hints of werewolf throughout book but not much

I've read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and loved it - it was the perfect monster genre mashup - but this, this is complete and utter rubbish.

The thing with it is, Wuthering Heights is a GREAT book, a fantastic book, and there is probably a way to make it into a GREAT and funny book by adding in your werewolves and your zombies; but this just reads like Wuthering Heights, with the odd wolf-related observation chucked in there. I don't know about the zombie - I never made it that far.

Pride and Prejudice (another great book) was enhanced by the addition of zombies. This has actually managed to detract my enjoyment from a classic read. I feel my reading experience of that classic novel has been sullied by reading this tripe. In fact at about p. 254, I felt the need to cleanse myself and downloaded the real Wuthering Heights to my Kindle, to get rid of this claptrap from my mind.

There was no need for this ever to have been written and certainly no need for it to be published. It's a bit like that old Blackadder joke - it's like a broken pencil - Pointless. Come to think of it, I wish the author had broken his pencil and never subjected us to it in the first place. Crap. Utter Crap. Don't waste your money on it. I only paid 77 English pence for it, and quite frankly it was 77 English pence too much.

I can say that this was one of the best books I've ever read. I haven't read any other mash-ups yet, but if they are as good as this one I will really be doing alot of reading. I can say that it wasn't what I was expecting, and that I will probably be reading it again because it was so good and was so well-written that it seemed to breeze by in a matter of hours.

Not the most successful mix of classical literature and modern horror in my opinion. While I prefer source material for this attempt, I think Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was more successful.
