After Hours Lectures is the first book in the brand new Forbidden Series by Kimberly Knight and Rachel Lyn Adams. This is a MM, forbidden, professor/student romance.

Tyler Statler is twenty two years old and is about to start his final semester of college at Hawkins University in Boston. If you read Dibs, then you met Gage Statler, one of Tyler’s dads. Tyler’s dream is to be a music journalist. Right before the semester starts, Tyler goes out to a nearby gay bar where he meets a man he is instantly attracted to. They have a no names, one night stand but after leaving, Tyler regrets not exchanging names and contact info because he would have loved to see him again. So imagine his surprise on Monday morning when he walks into his new photography class and sees who the professor is!

Professor Hayden Foster is thirty three years old. He only teaches the one class a week at the university. The rest of the time he works for his family’s newspaper, The Hub Tribune, as a sports photojournalist. Hayden walked into the bar that night looking for someone to spend a few hours with and it was the best few hours he’s had in a long time. He regretfully didn’t exchange information with the man he met but was shocked when he walked into his classroom on Monday morning.

Hayden and Tyler would love nothing more then have a repeat of what they shared before. But both could lose everything, Hayden his job and reputation, and Tyler could lose everything he’d been working towards in college the last four years. They have to walk away, keep their interactions professional only. But this is easier said then done. The chemistry is still zapping between them. Would it be possible to give in to their attraction and keep it a secret? No matter what, though, Tyler is planning on moving back home to San Diego after graduation.

While you don’t need to have to read ANY of the other books, you can meet Tyler’s dads in the book Dibs. We get a small appearance from Aron and Drew from the Off the Field Duet. And, there is a small appearance from a book I haven’t read yet, Vaughn Evans, the rock star from the book Sensation Fantasies 3. I can’t wait to grab this one since I’m so curious now about his story. You don’t need to read any of these books to enjoy this one. As a reader, though, I like it when I know how books are tied together so I like passing that on to you.

This was a sexy, sweet story of finding your true love when you least expect it, when it’s most inconvenient. Isn’t that the way love always is?! These two deserved their happy ever after but you know it couldn’t come easy for them. Doesn’t that make it all the sweeter in the end? The next book in the Forbidden Series will be Secrets We Fight, which is Fallon, Tyler’s close friend’s book. I can’t wait.

An anonymous hookup isn't as simple as it seemed once the realization hits that Hayden is Tyler's photography professor. After Hours Lecturs is a mostly low-angst forbidden romance between a professor and his student who randomly hook up and shockingly discover they are in a very precarious situation.

I appreciated how Hayden aka Professor Foster attempted to put up firm boundaries, but it doesn't last. His attraction and pull towards Tyler is both intense and demanding. Tyler is a senior who is looking forward to graduating and working his dream job when everything changes once he realizes he has a real connection with Hayden who happens to also be his profess.

Their chemistry is instant and I enjoyed the slow acknowledgment and progression in their relationship. Of course, there are complications due to their very forbidden situation, but I loved getting to see both grow and learn together, which made for such a sweet romance.

Overall a great forbidden professor/student romance that has so much heart alongside perfect chemistry between the two main characters.

This is kinda basic. Shallow and blunt.
Also, I can’t express how much i hate it when MCs sing praises to their own bodies. “My chiseled abs. lol.

3.5 ⭐️ An easy Professor/Student romance. I didn’t feel the super forbidden aspect of it or that sexy dark feeling, the seduction, the high stakes, that strong, twisted desire from the characters, that I love in this trope and that’s why I couldn’t rate it higher. Looking forward to side characters future books though.

I enjoyed this a lot more than and series. Where those stories fell into overused and underwhelming tropes of the evil ex-wife and “The Rock levels of continual drama, this story was quieter. I appreciated that.

I liked these two characters. I liked how they met and how they unexpectedly reconnected as professor and student. But unfortunately, for the most part, it just never felt particularly forbidden or taboo.

There was no real tension. And I expected certain plot lines to play out, right from the start. So it became predictable, not exciting. And, as happened in the above mentioned books, several important plot lines are resolved off page. For example That just feels like lazy writing to me.

And that’s where this book falls a little short for me. It’s a perfectly decent read. It’s not overly angsty, it’s sexy, has good secondary characters and it ends with a HEA. But it also has so many missed opportunities for depth.

End of the day, this kept me entertained for a good few days and I’ll be continuing with this series.

Re-read on Oct 2nd/24

I'm continuing with this series, so I did a fast re-read of this book.

It's still not working for me. Just doesn't do it for me. I'm staying with the 2.75 rating, I can't even round it up, but here's to hoping.

There are many interconnected books you'll want to read before you start with this one.

1. Sensation Fantasies 3
2. Traded
3. Outed
4. Dibs
5. After Hours Lectures

So, this was Tyler's book. Tyler is a 21-year old son of Gage and Chase from Dibs and in his book he's finishing college, lives in a frat, has a BFF Fallon, who's book is going to be next in the series and falls in love with his professor, Hayden.

🟡 Student/teacher
🟣 Age gap - 11 years
🔵 No angst
🟢 Present characters from interconnected books
🌶 Smut is relatively good; t/b

Tyler and Hayden hook up in a gay club and don't know who the other is.
When they find out, they continue the romance nevertheless, but decide to break things up when Ford, Tyler's ex sees them on a date. After that Tyler finishes college and they get back together.

Basically, that's the whole deal, that happened and the ride wasn't interesting or exciting, at least for me. It lacked that spark, for something sexy or amazing to happen, I don't know, the magic just wasn't there.
Don't get me wrong, Tyler and Hayden were good characters, but the story didn't pull me in and I can't say it was bad, but it wasn't good either.

I will say the smut was a bit better than in Dibs, it had prepping, which I very much missed in previous books, it had more descriptive scenes and more were on-page, but I feel like it can get better than this, I mean I sure hope so

"I didn’t object as I rolled the latex on my aching shaft. He squirted lubricant onto his fingers and then reached back to coat his rectum."

Yeah, this one didn't come close to Traded/Outed duet, but I really like all the characters from these books and I'll definitely read the next books in the series. I really, really hope the authors get some divine inspiration and give these characters amazing stories.

I'm very much interested in Coop and Ford's book.

I love a forbidden romance, don't ask me why - I literally have no idea, but the sneaking around, the secrets, the longing, all of that just does it for me. So even though teachers dating their students is reprehensible in reality, I will happily read fiction about it. That is the spirit in which I picked up this book. But if I'm being honest, this was the most banal forbidden romance I have ever read. Tyler (student) hooks up with Hayden (his professor) at a club before the start of term a la Meredith Grey, and they then learn each other's identities in class. Although they try to stay away from each other, they don't. The rest of the book proceeds in the most predictable way any book has ever proceeded, the end. I guess I was hoping for a bit more of a fraught romance, but I actually got something pretty bland. It was uninspired and I was bored.

So this was actually a very sweet book. I really enjoyed it and thought Hayden and Tyler were wonderful MCs and a beautiful couple.

I do wish there would’ve been more angst and conflict. It is a professor/student trope so it adds a layer of being forbidden but this didn’t feel particularly forbidden. I felt like they could’ve used more angst throughout. This is really what kept it from being a higher rating - it was all a bit too easy.

That being said, I do plan to read the rest of the series. I truly enjoyed these 2. They made such a good match. I also liked the way they were written. You could tell it was an age gap but it didn’t feel like a huge difference and Hayden wasn’t written like a geriatric man. He was still youthful!

I don’t love when characters from previous books play an important role but its never mentioned that other characters are integrated so you may want to read earlier books prior.

Looking for a steamy taboo MM romance? I have a perfect recommendation for you! After Hours Lectures by Kimberly Knight and Rachel Lyn Adams brings all the heat and spice and tension of a professor-student age gap romance. Tyler and Holden are sizzling hot together. It also has some beautiful feelings within the pages.

College student Tyler meets a tall dark handsome stranger in a gay nightclub and spends a hot as sin night. Soon he finds out that Holden is also his photojournalism professor! A lot is at risk and the prudent thing would be to stay away from each other but their attraction is irresistible.

It's not a big age gap, at least not for me but the taboo part was deliciously hot! Holden has some emotional baggage as he lost his boyfriend few years ago and he definitely doesn’t want to jeopardize his or Tyler's career. But he is hopeless in face of Tyler's charm and sass. Tyler had a recent break up but he wasn't in love and the intensity he feels for Holden from the first night together is much more meaningful to him than any other relationships he had before. They are so sexy together but I also feel they were so adorable too! Tyler has a spicy and sweet personality while Holden is a bit brooding and they balance each other perfectly. There wasn't a lot of drama here except at the end when Tyler's past threatened to expose them and they broke each other's heart by trying to stay away. It was a swoony and sinful and heartfelt romance where two strangers connect by their undeniable chemistry and slowly falls for each other.

Spicy, low drama, easy beach or vacation read. Classic teacher/student situation unfolds early in the story with an oh-snap-I-didn’t-know-who-you-where, which is fairly typical of this trope. Also a classic that-fella-is-gonna-start-trouble type character was established early on. If you’re familiar with this trope, you know there has to be a get-caught or almost-get-caught moment and the tension from waiting for that to happen is a beautiful thing.

Photography plays a bit role and enthusiasts may enjoy the jargon that’s slipped in here and there.

Overall a good read, pretty spicy, likable characters, well written, dialogue heavy (which I love), focus is on the relationship with friends/family/jobs talking a back seat.

Everyone hates Ford and I am over here thinking that, while he did it for selfish reasons, he wasn't wrong for turning Hayden in to the Dean. Pretty sure that sleeping with your student is unethical. Honestly, it is also ridiculous that Ford is kicked out and Tyler gets to stay in the fraternity. Tyler should have been kicked out as well. Sleeping with your professor is just as wrong and it is unfair to the students who didn't get an advantage with their grades by giving the professor some sexy fun times for extra points. Obviously, I am not their biggest fan.

From the first word of this book I was enthralled and the storyline was so sweet and easy to follow. I literally couldn’t put it down and finished it in a few hours. I really enjoyed Hayden and Tyler’s relationship and even with the dynamic of professor and student the story was so good. I am so grateful to have been able to read this ARC. It’s worth so much more than 5 ⭐️.

This was a good, no muss, no fuss Saturday porch read. Age gap and student/teacher romances are my favorite, so I was instantly intrigued. The heat and attraction were good between Tyler and Hayden, but it didn’t give me the feels like I hoped it would. I’m intrigued about the supporting characters getting their own stories, maybe I’ll be in a different mindset for them.

This was very underwhelming. The plot lines were predictable but undeveloped. The “plot was basically weak scenes to get to (underwhelming) intimate scenes. A lot of things that could have led to rich development were brushed over or done off-page. It started fine and I had hope. But, even the writing was so pedestrian that I felt nothing reading this.

DNF 30%. My fourth DNF in 24h 😵‍ This book made me feel nothing except frustration. The MCs resemble dim-witted middle schoolers. Or maybe it's just Tor Thom's narration. Where are all the good romance audiobooks? It's no wonder I keep revisiting old favorites.

This was a great book! I really loved that this one didn't have a lot of angst. Sometimes you just need a book that just flows and this one did.

Tyler and Hayden were perfect for each other. They really seemed to have a connection even from the first interaction.

I really thought Ford was a jerk, but I loved how Tyler handled him towards the end. I was also a little surprised it took Hayden as long as it did to tell Tyler about his ex.

But I really loved being able to see all of the characters from Dibs in this one. I just loved Chase and Gage. Oh and Jamie. She was pretty freaking amazing as well.

A one night stand to finding out they're professor x student a few days later.

I love the teacher x student forbidden trope, and this was very well done. The incredible chemistry but not wanting to break any rules or ruin any reputations, the pining, the uncertain futures, the angst of being found out.

This was my first book by these authors and I enjoyed it a lot.

Tyler, the son of one of the MMC from Dibs is the subject of this book, when he meets and has a one night stand with his university professor.

The question is if they can find a way to be together without losing everything.

A tad weird seeing Tyler as a 22 yo, but nevertheless a good continuation of this dynasty.

I’m gonna be honest I had this book downloaded for a while and I had nothing to read so I read this book and I really didn’t like it like obviously there’s some characters that I like but I don’t like the two main people and I’m not a hater so this really Bothers me to write such a bad but like the two main characters literally get together in the beginning they don’t know who they are to each other and then obviously they meet each other in the classroom again finally revealing to each other the identity of who they are and like, I hate the fact that they were like we have to connection like I can’t stop thinking about you. You’ve picked my curiosity like girl you don’t know each other. You haven’t had an actual conversation until the 40% mark, and then the conversation was extremely vague as the writing style is just simple and I barely know the characters. The only thing I know is they have this “connection which I don’t know where they pulled out from because obviously they’re a one night stand, who just wants more and I hate the fact that Tyler was like saying in chapter 13 which is where they held their actual first conversation was like asking Hayden how old he was and then his inner monologue was that it’s still weird that they didn’t know anything about each other and now that they’re dating, they’ve got so much to learn about each other and when I read this, I was like hold up what the hell you’re talking about dating because this is your first actual conversation and you guys saw each other in the classroom and the club so I don’t know where he pulled dating from but he really pissed me off. I just think this book is really mid. Like he was way too fast paced everything’s not described to the last detail, especially that like I would expect for a sappy book to at least have more content, but now everything so vague even the relationship at this point.
And the only characters I actually like of this story is Charlotte and Fallon.

Kimberly Knight and Rachel Lyn Adams have teamed up once again to write another gripping story of forbidden romance. I am glad for this. This team of authors has created a world where, in the end, love is what truly matters.

While this book can be read as a stand-alone novel, the story and characters have much more significance if you have read Dibs or the Off
the Field Duet :Traded & Outed. Tyler, one of the main characters, is from the world of Dibs. Many of the characters from the Off the Field Duet also make appearances in After Hours Lectures.

Without knowing any of this, After Hours Lectures is a ForbiddenTeacher/Student Romance, which burns up the pages from the very first chapter. Despite its spicy beginning, this story develops into a tender love story where two unlikely lovers are brought together and tested to see if love will truly win.

What I love most about this story is that the main characters, Tyler Statler and Professor Hayden Foster, know exactly who they are. They have each been nurtured and supported by their respective families to be proud of who they are and to reach for their goals without reserve. They are both very relatable and likable. I loved watching them confidently navigate a world that is not always kind to people who have non-traditional romantic preferences.

I also loved the sense of suspense and danger that came with the unexpected circumstances of their attraction to each other leading to a love match. I loved rooting for them and then holding my breath to see if their love would survive their trecherous situation.

The supporting characters in this book have interesting personalities. They definitely make me curious with a need to know more about them and their stories. I hope the authors will gift us with equally wonderful tales of lust, love, and happily ever after in the near future.

Kimberly Knight and Rachel Lyn Adams have made me an absolute fan and devoted reader of their delicious swoon-worthy romances. Their books are now automatic additions to my shelves.

I’m always game for a story revolving around a taboo-type relationship. In this case it’s student/professor, and I am so very here for it! The setup is one I’ve seen before - an anonymous hookup before finding out each other’s true identities - and sets the stage for the remainder of the tale.

I liked the main characters, and thought they were very well matched; they certainly had plenty of sexual chemistry! For the majority of the story things were relatively easy for them, and the angst level was pretty low. Even the couple of instances in the beginning where people close to them found out there wasn’t any real drama. The inclusion of the photography elements was a nice touch without being overly technical.

We all know though that there will come a point in this type of story where things go sideways, and when they do here it’s a very abrupt change that I actually found a bit jarring. The first two thirds of the story where everything flowed so easily for Tyler and Hayden is a complete opposite from what comes after the drama that pops up (I’m laying the blame squarely at Hayden’s feet based on his total permanent shutdown as his reaction). From that point until things are resolved things feel a bit desolate, and once the resolution comes around it feels a bit quick like loose ends being hurriedly tied up to end the story.

Overall, I did enjoy the story, I just would have preferred a less discordant transition for their relationship when things went south. This story still fell somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars for me thanks to the pre- and post-drama relationship being so loving and easygoing bringing it back up. If you’re a fan of the student-professor trope, you’ll want to check this one out, keeping in mind it’s meant for readers 18+ for adult language and plenty of sexual content.
