OK, I hate writing a one-star review, but this book was so entirely dull. I really genuinely hate writing bad reviews. The scenarios introduced were solid. I really wanted to read something about first-year college kids to get excited for next year. This was not it. Instead, this book was very, very slow. The plot was way too drawn out, and I kept hoping it would get better. For example, it had interesting issues like how to handle divorce, how to handle conflict with foreign parents, how to deal with depression, and find friends. It had really good potential. Unfortunately, the storyline was choppy. I kept hoping it was going to get better. It didn't. Instead, the author would write about something like a conversation or an event that occurred. Then it would be rehashed over and over again. It was a bit repetitive and dull, and kinda weird. Why is a first-year getting with a third year that's like his best friend's sister? He barely talks about his best friend and her reaction to this. It's a bit weird.

I loved this book series in the sense that it has such a good plot. Especially the time and period it is written for. But my biggest issue was I waited wayyy too long between reading the first book of the series and this one. To my credit, I think this book is pretty new so it was not released when I got the first one. This book was good in the sense that I like how books set in this time period take me out of the time and place I am currently in. It sets a beautiful scenery which makes you want to go to a ball in London and visit an apaerary in the countryside. The issues with this book come with the main characters. The way they interact is a bit dull and left me wanting a more intriguing plot. The ending, not to spoil, was resolved almost too well for the main conflict being the only motivation to drive the plot. It almost felt like this one conflict was held over the main characters' heads and then just solved suddenly.
