I really enjoyed this book! The plot twists were great, and they were foreshadowed really well. The ending was a little rushed, but it tied everything up nicely!

The writing was a sort of cross between Gordon Dickinson and George Macdonald. It was very witty, and the characters were well written, particularly Sophie, Howl, and Calcifer. Howl and Sophie’s arc was amazing, and reminiscent of Mortal Engine’s Hester and Tom (or is it the other way around?).
