Got bored towards the end and started to not enjoy it as much. I don't really have anything to say about the book and don't exactly have any opinions on it.

Yep. It looks like summer is over and so is Riley’s bad luck. Or is it?

While Nick gives up sleeping and showering to obsess over the cold case that still haunts him, his business partner Mrs. Penny is calling the investigative shots. It’s every bit as bad as you can imagine.

I know people might not agree with me on this but I dnfed this one. First reason why is I didn't know this was the 3rd book in the Riley Thorn series, second reason is that I got bored of it not even half way through it, third reason is I wasn't really invested in it, and the forth reason is I didn't like how it was written in third person.

The plot on this was kind of okish...ig?? I wasn't really invested and there really wasn't one to begin with.

All three of the MMC's (Jake, Noah, and Kaleb) made me EXTREMELY uncomfortable and they all are toxic in a lot of ways and major red flags. The fact that Tiernan was hopping bed to bed every night knowing dang well that she was sleeping with her FAMILY members (even if they aren't blood related) was just disgusting and not my cup of tea.

This was my first read by this author and I wasn't impressed and a bit disappointed. I tried out this book bcs I heard ppl talking abt it and giving it good reviews. In all honesty I should have done more research on it and looked at the bad reviews on the book so I got more of an idea on what I was getting myself into.

I'll be trying out other books by Penelope Douglas to give her a second chance and to see if her other books are better than this one.
