Did not seem to enjoy this book as much as i was hoping. Mal and Alina just didn't do it for me, they were so annoying at times. And i think its partly because i don't like them together, they just don't seem to have chemistry. Sidenote: take a shot everytime Mal complains to Alina and storms out the room. Nikolai was probably the most interesting character in the book, his interactions with whoever he was with was always entertaining. The audiobook was greet however. Interesting to see what comes next in the finally.

Going into this book i tried not to have high expectations. The book was decent enough, i might have perfered it better however if i was younger. Everyone says that they hate America, i mean i dont love her like i do with some characters ive read, shes a little like Clary i guess. Maxon or Aspen. Im not sure yet. I was a little dissapointed to see that the next 3 or 5 books will be centered on the selection still (at least i think they are) i would rather sort of have that out of the way and have more interesting events accure. I think this book is a solid 3 stars. Hopefully the next books are better. I will probably read the next books in between new reads, as i didnt fell the urgency to read book 2, i just wanted to get this book finished so i can start new reads.

Update: So I've decided to do a quick review, actually it could be monstrously long, we see how I go, now that I'm emotionally stable. Going into the book I didn't really have high standards mostly because I wasn't that fond of the last two ACOTARS books. At least not in the way I am with the Throne of Glass Series. So I read ACOTAR and most of ACOMAF like around December last year and I read those books within 1 week and a bit.
And over a couple of months I was unsure of my feelings toward the books until I kinda just came to the conclusion that I didn't really like the series at all. And with the ACOWAR release approaching I basically said to myself that I wasn't going to read it. But my curiosity got the better of me so I read the last 50 or so pages of ACOMAF. and got the ACOWAR book. AND BOI AM I GLAD I DID!

Ok so going into the book like I said I didn't really have high expectations. I had seen somewhere that the acotar series was getting 3 more books and 2 novellas. So my understand whilst reading acowar was that that wasn't the finial book Feyre x Rhysands story. I just assumed that the next three book would still be from their POVs, when really the next books are going to be in their world still but necessary focused on them. Which was a shame because thoughout the ACOWAR I found myself wholly invested in the story and quite enjoying it despite alot of peoples negatives reviews.

So I had a brief idea of what to expect from this story before diving into it. Obiviosly Feyre would be at the Spring Court and with Tamlin and Lucian acting as a Spy for the Night Court whist creating chaos. WHICH SHE DID. I thought that I would have a difficult time reading ABOUT her time at the Spring Court but surprisingly I quite enjoyed it. Expescially her interactions with Lucian, making Tamlin sort of suspecially of Lucian and Feyre!! But come on we all knew that Lucian knew what game Feyre was playing with Tamlin.
I think Feyre time spent at the Spring Court was cut short but never the less I was glad to see Lucian joining her, so he would get to see his Mate.

I was Glad when Feyre and Lucian was rescued by Cassian and Azriel by Lucians evil brothers. Cause we knew that our babies were safe. FOR NOW. So they get to the Night Court and what do you know... RHYSAND REUNION SMUT. Which I'm not gonna lie, was pretty good at times. Followed by more Rhysand smut. BUT WE DIDNT GET THE WALL SCENCE.

SO Feyre goes to see her sisters. AND SUPRISE SUPRISE. Nesta IS AS SALTY AS EVER, WHILST ELAIN IS BATSHIT CRAZY.

I think Sarah J Mass did an interesting thing making these predicted ships not necessary happen. And of course it leaves loose ends, which can be addresses in the books to come.

I liked the bickering between Cassian and Nesta, but after a while I just grew tired of Nesta constantly being just plain rude. Like girl I get it you are playing hard to get but smile a little. However I think that whole" I hate you tension" just added to the attraction.
One thing I picked up on was Mor's behaviour towards Nesta. At the beginning she was like 'oh I love your dress' and was really trying to be her friend, much like how she was with Feyre. But then there was a shift. And I'm not sure if it was triggered by Mor getting sick of Nesta's rude behaviour in general or more specifically toward Cassian, but she really just let at it.
And yes. While I get that Mor and Cassian are good friends and was probably hat try g to protect him feelings from getting hurt, I did detect a hint of jealously.
Which for me did get in the way of some Cassian and Nesta moments - like come on then were so rare.

While for most of the book Lucian wasn't present as he was off looking for the lost Human Queen, we didn't get as many scences between him and Elain, as I had hoped. And when they did Elain was talking jibberis or her fiance- I forget his name.
But their was one moment between the two which stuck out for me. And that was when they were sitting together and Lucian was trying to reach her though the bond.And Elain jumps up, not knowing what was happening, then Lucian immediately apologizes. I do hope for them to get closer hopefully in the books to come, as they can heal.
So we did get some Azriel x Elain moments, which did take me by surprise. And I do thinj that Sarah will explore this in the future, perhaps a love triangle of some sorts bewteeN Lucian, Azriel and Elain. Which I think will be interesting, but at this point of time I am hoping that Lucian x Elain will endgame.

Mor and Azriel. These two made we sad. I thought that these two would admit they had feelings for one another and would happily sail away on their little ship. BUT NO. THEIR SHIP TURNED OUT TO BE THE FRIKIN TITANIC. *sobs for days* I honestly don't think that these two will ever work out, but I mean I guess we will get some closure. I will admit those I was DEVASTATED when learnt that Mor did not have feelings for Azriel. At least not the same as Azriel feels for her. And I do feel bad for Azriel because 500 is a long time to be in love with someone, who doesn't love you back. Even for an immortal Fae. I want to say that it was selfish of Mor to lead Az on like that, but I do understand her reasons. But it just breaks my heart for her to feel like she can't be honest with the people she has come to love like a family. I admit I did not she her being Bi / Gay coming at all. I'm sure if I read the series again I would see some signs. But the fact that she couldn't love Az,was because she didn't think she could feel that connection with him because he was a guy. And it does make sense why she got with Cassian and not Az all that time ago, because she knew that it didn't mean anything to Cassian as it did Az. HAHA I will admit that when Mor came out/confessed to Feyre, it felt that scene from Bridget Jones. You know the one where, the pretty lawer chick was confessing her feelings for Bridget. But Bridget thought that she was actually in love with t Mr Darcy. Happy days. It just felt like I was have deja vu.

Mor: I don't love Azriel I can't love him
Feyre: Why not?
Mor: Oh Feyre isn't it obviously because I'm in love with you.

I just honestly thought that was going to happen, but oh well. However I'm interested to see where her love life will take her. Although I do suspect that whoever it may be has already been mentioned.

OH LORDE.
THE MEETING with all the High Lord in Chapter 42 was SOOOOO intense. And it was probably one of my favourite scenes. Like of all times. It was exciting to read, you didn't know what was going to be said or happen. And yea, I felt as if I was there and could feel as mortified as FeyreI had. THERE WAS ALOT OF SLUT SHAMING. I felt sorry for Rhysand, and Feyre and Mor.

NOT TO MENTION TAMLIN. TAMLIN WHO AFTER HAD JUST STOLLEN A PAGE RIGHT OUT OF RHYSAND BOOK ‘GRAND ENTRIES AND HOW TO PERFOREM THEM' just blasts in like the crack of a whip and smiles down everyone, and just know that he is there to fudge Shit up.
Some of the things he says. Boi. Were they brutal. Like I know why Sarah's favourite word starts with an F. And no it's not Fudge. It just created so much emphasis to Tamlin said to Rhysand and Feyre which was a long time coming.
Oh and Beron Lucians DICK OF A DAD, he says some pretty horrific things too. WELL LUCIAN'S DICK OF A STEPDAD. That's right because Helion is actually his real sexy Papi.
And I could definitely sense something between Lucians Mum and Helion.

I think in terms of new characters that Helion is definitely my favourite. I just love how hes openly Bi, his glorious thighs, his outfit he's he wears, and how he wants a foursome with Mor, Azriel and Cassian. * kisses fingers* that whole scene when Helion visits the night court crew was perfect. Oh and Rhysand tells Feyre that he believes that she would live 2 males worshipping her.... ARGHHHHHH!!!!

Now onto Amren. I honestly love her. She is like the April Ludgate of the Night court. I love how she calls Nesta girl. And she really does know how to handle her like a boss.
Plus for the entire time, I though she was Abraxoys, which I do know was a long shot but, I honestly thought that she was a .FRICKIN. DRAGON.
Oh and Varian, like I could kinda suspected something between them two. But I didn't think that they would actually be having a physical romantic relationship. No Joke the entire time when Varian kisses her and carries Amren away I was just thinking 'OK have fun having sex with a Dragon' 😂

Page 666. I cried. And like while I kind of knew that Rhysand probably wasnt really going to stay died. I just got so emotional. I mean he come back to life in like .2 seconds. But still. He was Died for. 2 seconds.

I was so happy when the King could his head chopped off. That son of a Bitch deserved it. And that it was Elain and Nesta to have done it. ugh so satisfying.

Now Tamlin. Know I don’t hate Tamlin, like I do think he deserves happiness. Don’t get me wrong he did some pretty messed up Shit. Locking Feyre in that house. Siding with the Hybern King. Ect. But he did those things because he thought that he was protecting Feyre, and so he thought his actions were justified. And you can tell that he loves Feyre and while I do think he has a long way to go to redeem himself it's better than the alternative. Plus he is going to be lonely without Lucian.

Overall I give the book 95% Only reason it is not 100, is because there were some minor flaws. I felt like the last hundred pages were rushed. And was honestly surprised that no one we love really died. I mean like yes some people did die but then didn't stay died for long. Except the Suriel. And Bone Cleaver. And the Weaver. But like main characters.

I'm too lazy to do a full review but I liked it


Update: So I've decided to do a quick review, actually it could be monstrously long, we see how I go, now that I'm emotionally stable. Going into the book I didn't really have high standards mostly because I wasn't that fond of the last two ACOTARS books. At least not in the way I am with the Throne of Glass Series. So I read ACOTAR and most of ACOMAF like around December last year and I read those books within 1 week and a bit.
And over a couple of months I was unsure of my feelings toward the books until I kinda just came to the conclusion that I didn't really like the series at all. And with the ACOWAR release approaching I basically said to myself that I wasn't going to read it. But my curiosity got the better of me so I read the last 50 or so pages of ACOMAF. and got the ACOWAR book. AND BOI AM I GLAD I DID!

Ok so going into the book like I said I didn't really have high expectations. I had seen somewhere that the acotar series was getting 3 more books and 2 novellas. So my understand whilst reading acowar was that that wasn't the finial book Feyre x Rhysands story. I just assumed that the next three book would still be from their POVs, when really the next books are going to be in their world still but necessary focused on them. Which was a shame because thoughout the ACOWAR I found myself wholly invested in the story and quite enjoying it despite alot of peoples negatives reviews.

So I had a brief idea of what to expect from this story before diving into it. Obiviosly Feyre would be at the Spring Court and with Tamlin and Lucian acting as a Spy for the Night Court whist creating chaos. WHICH SHE DID. I thought that I would have a difficult time reading ABOUT her time at the Spring Court but surprisingly I quite enjoyed it. Expescially her interactions with Lucian, making Tamlin sort of suspecially of Lucian and Feyre!! But come on we all knew that Lucian knew what game Feyre was playing with Tamlin.
I think Feyre time spent at the Spring Court was cut short but never the less I was glad to see Lucian joining her, so he would get to see his Mate.

I was Glad when Feyre and Lucian was rescued by Cassian and Azriel by Lucians evil brothers. Cause we knew that our babies were safe. FOR NOW. So they get to the Night Court and what do you know... RHYSAND REUNION SMUT. Which I'm not gonna lie, was pretty good at times. Followed by more Rhysand smut. BUT WE DIDNT GET THE WALL SCENCE.

SO Feyre goes to see her sisters. AND SUPRISE SUPRISE. Nesta IS AS SALTY AS EVER, WHILST ELAIN IS BATSHIT CRAZY.

THE SHIPS.
Mor x Azriel
Cassian x Nesta
Lucian x Elain

I think Sarah J Mass did an interesting thing making these predicted ships not necessary happen. And of course it leaves loose ends, which can be addresses in the books to come.

I liked the bickering between Cassian and Nesta, but after a while I just grew tired of Nesta constantly being just plain rude. Like girl I get it you are playing hard to get but smile a little. However I think that whole" I hate you tension" just added to the attraction.
One thing I picked up on was Mor's behaviour towards Nesta. At the beginning she was like 'oh I love your dress' and was really trying to be her friend, much like how she was with Feyre. But then there was a shift. And I'm not sure if it was triggered by Mor getting sick of Nesta's rude behaviour in general or more specifically toward Cassian, but she really just let at it.
And yes. While I get that Mor and Cassian are good friends and was probably hat try g to protect him feelings from getting hurt, I did detect a hint of jealously.
Which for me did get in the way of some Cassian and Nesta moments - like come on then were so rare.

While for most of the book Lucian wasn't present as he was off looking for the lost Human Queen, we didn't get as many scences between him and Elain, as I had hoped. And when they did Elain was talking jibberis or her fiance- I forget his name.
But their was one moment between the two which stuck out for me. And that was when they were sitting together and Lucian was trying to reach her though the bond.And Elain jumps up, not knowing what was happening, then Lucian immediately apologizes. I do hope for them to get closer hopefully in the books to come, as they can heal.
So we did get some Azriel x Elain moments, which did take me by surprise. And I do thinj that Sarah will explore this in the future, perhaps a love triangle of some sorts bewteeN Lucian, Azriel and Elain. Which I think will be interesting, but at this point of time I am hoping that Lucian x Elain will endgame.

Mor and Azriel. These two made we sad. I thought that these two would admit they had feelings for one another and would happily sail away on their little ship. BUT NO. THEIR SHIP TURNED OUT TO BE THE FRIKIN TITANIC. *sobs for days* I honestly don't think that these two will ever work out, but I mean I guess we will get some closure. I will admit those I was DEVASTATED when learnt that Mor did not have feelings for Azriel. At least not the same as Azriel feels for her. And I do feel bad for Azriel because 500 is a long time to be in love with someone, who doesn't love you back. Even for an immortal Fae. I want to say that it was selfish of Mor to lead Az on like that, but I do understand her reasons. But it just breaks my heart for her to feel like she can't be honest with the people she has come to love like a family. I admit I did not she her being Bi / Gay coming at all. I'm sure if I read the series again I would see some signs. But the fact that she couldn't love Az,was because she didn't think she could feel that connection with him because he was a guy. And it does make sense why she got with Cassian and not Az all that time ago, because she knew that it didn't mean anything to Cassian as it did Az. HAHA I will admit that when Mor came out/confessed to Feyre, it felt that scene from Bridget Jones. You know the one where, the pretty lawer chick was confessing her feelings for Bridget. But Bridget thought that she was actually in love with t Mr Darcy. Happy days. It just felt like I was have deja vu.

Mor: I don't love Azriel I can't love him
Feyre: Why not?
Mor: Oh Feyre isn't it obviously because I'm in love with you.

I just honestly thought that was going to happen, but oh well. However I'm interested to see where her love life will take her. Although I do suspect that whoever it may be has already been mentioned.

OH LORDE.
THE MEETING with all the High Lord in Chapter 42 was SOOOOO intense. And it was probably one of my favourite scenes. Like of all times. It was exciting to read, you didn't know what was going to be said or happen. And yea, I felt as if I was there and could feel as mortified as FeyreI had. THERE WAS ALOT OF SLUT SHAMING. I felt sorry for Rhysand, and Feyre and Mor.

NOT TO MENTION TAMLIN. TAMLIN WHO AFTER HAD JUST STOLLEN A PAGE RIGHT OUT OF RHYSAND BOOK ‘GRAND ENTRIES AND HOW TO PERFOREM THEM' just blasts in like the crack of a whip and smiles down everyone, and just know that he is there to fudge Shit up.
Some of the things he says. Boi. Were they brutal. Like I know why Sarah's favourite word starts with an F. And no it's not Fudge. It just created so much emphasis to Tamlin said to Rhysand and Feyre which was a long time coming.
Oh and Beron Lucians DICK OF A DAD, he says some pretty horrific things too. WELL LUCIAN'S DICK OF A STEPDAD. That's right because Helion is actually his real sexy Papi.
And I could definitely sense something between Lucians Mum and Helion.

I think in terms of new characters that Helion is definitely my favourite. I just love how hes openly Bi, his glorious thighs, his outfit he's he wears, and how he wants a foursome with Mor, Azriel and Cassian. * kisses fingers* that whole scene when Helion visits the night court crew was perfect. Oh and Rhysand tells Feyre that he believes that she would live 2 males worshipping her.... ARGHHHHHH!!!!

Now onto Amren. I honestly love her. She is like the April Ludgate of the Night court. I love how she calls Nesta girl. And she really does know how to handle her like a boss.
Plus for the entire time, I though she was Abraxoys, which I do know was a long shot but, I honestly thought that she was a .FRICKIN. DRAGON.
Oh and Varian, like I could kinda suspected something between them two. But I didn't think that they would actually be having a physical romantic relationship. No Joke the entire time when Varian kisses her and carries Amren away I was just thinking 'OK have fun having sex with a Dragon' 😂

Page 666. I cried. And like while I kind of knew that Rhysand probably wasnt really going to stay died. I just got so emotional. I mean he come back to life in like .2 seconds. But still. He was Died for. 2 seconds.

I was so happy when the King could his head chopped off. That son of a Bitch deserved it. And that it was Elain and Nesta to have done it. ugh so satisfying.

Now Tamlin. Know I don’t hate Tamlin, like I do think he deserves happiness. Don’t get me wrong he did some pretty messed up Shit. Locking Feyre in that house. Siding with the Hybern King. Ect. But he did those things because he thought that he was protecting Feyre, and so he thought his actions were justified. And you can tell that he loves Feyre and while I do think he has a long way to go to redeem himself it's better than the alternative. Plus he is going to be lonely without Lucian.

Overall I give the book 95% Only reason it is not 100, is because there were some minor flaws. I felt like the last hundred pages were rushed. And was honestly surprised that no one we love really died. I mean like yes some people did die but then didn't stay died for long. Except the Suriel. And Bone Cleaver. And the Weaver. But like main characters.

So I think I am going to wrap my review up. I'm sure that there are more things I could have discussed, and they will come back to me when I've done saving this bad boi. But yes thank you for reading my review. xd

More of a 3.5-4 stars. Because I had a break inbetween like a month's break I kinda forget some of the backstory whilst reading which is frustrating. And then when I picked up the book again I was having a hard time getting into the book. Which only frustrated me more to the brink of stopping reading the series all together. However I soildered on, which paid off as I was able to get invested in the story and finish it within the night. I really enjoyed the interaction between Thorne and Cress. And seeing all the connections between the original Rapunzel story. Thorne is probably my favourite character, he just is such a sweetheart around Cress, even though she socially awkward. Oh and how he kissed her when he thought they were going to die. Dr Erland being Cress dad, I did see that coming but I can't remember if that was because I got spoilt. But when he died I was crying, it was so sad, and how he dissapoved of Throne was funny even though he didn't know much of him or Cress. it was just nice to see the fatherly instinct kick in. How and how Scarlet was captured and taken to Lunar/the moon. I forgot the first half of what happened to her there. but the part where the creeping little kid was torturing her mind. Agh, and how she cut off her pinky. I'm excited for the gang to all be together cause now they are going to rescue Scarlet and Winter will help them. Also Winter I'm not sure about her like I don't know if her acting insane is genuine or just some cherade she's playing. But if she's Levanas stapdauggter does that make Her and Cinder like stepcousins. Anyways overall I think the first half I was Effy about. But some parts I must have enjoyed but again I can't really remember. Probably the Cress and Thorne interaction. But toward the Last half of the book is was picking up, and more interesting. Probably better then Cinder, same lever as Scarlet. Oh an Iko, I love how she has this human like Robert escort body know she's just hilarious I'm glad that's she around. So yes that's my review xD
