<![CDATA[The Perennial Way (Expanded Edition): New English Versions of Yoga Sutras, Dhammapada, Heart Sutra, Ashtavakra Gita, Faith Mind Sutra, Tao Te Ching, and more]]> 29922769 This new expanded edition adds four more spiritual Avadhuta Gita, Atma Shatakam, Three Books of the Absolute, and Book of Yeshua—the inner teachings of Jesus Christ.
In these timeless works, Patanjali, Buddha, Jesus, Lao Tsu, and other great masters of the Way speak with resonant authority on man’s deepest questions, and offer explicit instructions for how an earnest seeker of Truth should conduct his or her search and life.
These insightful new versions by Bart Marshall are presented without commentary. Clear and poetic, yet intensely faithful to the language and nuance of the originals, they invite direct communion with the masters, and vibrate with a revelatory self-evidence that resonates in the mind and heart long after reading.
“Bart Marshall is a remarkable confluence of awakened soul and poet. He has an ability to convey the truth of ancient writings with a profound spiritual immediacy. His translations not only interpret ancient mystical writings, but transmit their essential power to utterly alter and redefine our lives. -- Bruce Joel Rubin, spiritual teacher and Oscar-winning screenwriter (Ghost, Jacob’s Ladder, My Life)]]>

<![CDATA[The Book of Not Knowing: Exploring the True Nature of Self, Mind, and Consciousness]]> 9315473 For fans of Eckhart Tolle—a guide to mastering self-awareness through direct experience rather than old presumptions or harmful thought patternsThrough decades of martial arts and meditation practice, Peter Ralston discovered a curious and paradoxical that true awareness arises from a state of not-knowing.Even the most sincere investigation of self and spirit, he says, is often sabotaged by our tendency to grab too quickly for answers and ideas as we retreat to the safety of the known. This "Hitchhiker’s Guide to Awareness" provides helpful guideposts along an experiential journey for those Western minds predisposed to wandering off to old habits, cherished presumptions, and a stubbornly solid sense of self. With ease and clarity, Ralston teaches readers how to become aware of the background patterns that they are usually too busy, stressed, or distracted to notice. The Book of Not Knowingpoints out the ways people get stuck in their lives and offers readers a way to make fresh choices about every aspect of their lives—from a place of awareness instead of autopilot.]]> 601 Peter Ralston 1583942971 Mahmmad 4 currently-reading, dropped 4.41 2010 The Book of Not Knowing: Exploring the True Nature of Self, Mind, and Consciousness

<![CDATA[Finding Radical Wholeness: The Integral Path to Unity, Growth, and Delight]]> 182506566
According to Ken Wilber, the perpetual human search for growth and fulfillment is often incomplete. In this book, Wilber integrates the wisdom of spirituality, psychology, shadow work, science, and integral theory to offer us a path to a radical and complete Wholeness of Waking Up, Growing Up, Opening Up, Cleaning Up, and Showing Up. Wilber shows readers how to apply integral theory to their everyday lives for transformation. For example, he shows how the theory of the Four Quadrants—the four perspectives through which we view the world—relates to our lives and allows us to show up and be more present. He also discusses how to evolve our multiple intelligences, how to increase our spiritual awareness, how to process what’s hidden in the depths of our consciousness, and how to enhance, deepen, and widen the feelings of bliss and love through the practice of integral tantric sex. Wilber introduces several practices—on topics such as the Witness, One Taste, and shadow work—to lead us to direct experiences that we can integrate into our lives. In this way, we truly understand Wholeness and can make room for everything life brings our way.

No other path of growth includes these five categories—each of which is a unique path to wholeness. By combining them and integrating them, one comes to a realization of what Wilber calls Big Wholeness—a completeness in which everything in our experience comes together to pull us into this deep meaning, where we feel in touch not only with all of the important aspects of ourselves but also with everything in our world.]]>

<![CDATA[The Cloud of Unknowing and The Book of Privy Counseling]]> 201930 The Cloud of Unknowing represents the first expression in our own tongue of the soul's quest for God. A literary work of great beauty in both style and message, it offers a practical guide to the path of contemplation. The author explains how all thoughts and concepts must be buried beneath a 'cloud of forgetting,' while our love must rise toward God hidden in the 'cloud of unknowing.' William Johnston an authority on fourteenth-century spirituality and on the writings of this unknown author provides a substantive and accessible introduction detailing what is known about the history of this text and its relevance throughout the ages. Also included here is the author's other principal work, The Book of Privy Counseling a short and moving text on the way to enlightenment through a total loss of self and consciousness only of the divine.

In a new foreword, Huston Smith shows The Cloud of Unknowing as a highly relevant text for today's spirituality, containing essential elements from the varieties of religious experience.]]>

<![CDATA[The Philokalia, Volume 2: The Complete Text]]> 557456 The Philokalia is a collection of texts written between the fourth and the fifteenth centuries by spiritual masters of the Orthodox Christian tradition. First published in Greek in 1782, then translated into Slavonic and later into Russian, The Philokalia has exercised an influence in the recent history of the Orthodox Church far greater than that of any book apart from the Bible. It is concerned with themes of universal importance: how man may develop his inner powers and awake from illusion; how he may overcome fragmentation and achieve spiritual wholeness; how he may attain the life of contemplative stillness and union with God.

Only a selection of texts from The Philokalia has been available hitherto in English. The present rendering, which is a completely new translation, is designed to appear in five volumes. The first of these was published by Faber and Faber in 1979. The second volume consists mainly of writings from the seventh century, in particular by St. Maximus the Confessor, the greater part of which has never before been translated into English. As in the first volume, the editors have provided introductory notes to each of the writers, a glossary of key terms, and a detailed index.]]>

<![CDATA[The Most Direct Means to Eternal Bliss]]> 4682120 For thousands of years humans have been stuck in the same pool of inward unsolved problems. Thousands of years ago humans had the problems of suffering, sorrow, anger, fear, violence, conning, cheating, lying, death, etc. Today humans have the problems of suffering, sorrow, anger, fear, violence, conning, cheating, lying, death, etc. All of those problems have a single cause. In this book the cause of the lack of progress and the solution that actually works is revealed.

There is a secret, a missing link, a vicious circle, that is keeping humans stuck in the same pool of unsolved problems. That secret, that missing link, that vicious circle is revealed in this book. How to break free of that ancient human trap is also revealed in this book.

The solutions taught in the past have failed. Not even one in a million humans has been freed from all suffering and been established in absolutely perfect infinite-eternal-awareness-love-bliss by the solutions that have been taught in the past.

It is possible to be free of all sorrow and suffering and to experience absolutely perfect infinite eternal joy in this lifetime. It is possible for all humans, not just a few humans. There is a rapid means to infinite bliss. That rapid means is taught in this book.

Whatever spiritual path you are on, this book will be a great help. The problem of the ego distorting, distracting and keeping the attention directed outward is a problem shared by all humans, whatever path they are on. The ego's tricks have seldom been looked at in spiritual literature. The ego's tricks are revealed in this book. How to put an end to the ego's tricks is also taught in this book, making this book a unique and immensely valuable contribution.

This book is a great help to all humans, including those who are not on a spiritual path, because the most direct and rapid means to end suffering and sorrow and to live in awareness-love-bliss, is of benefit to all.

For human consciousness to be transformed something new must be introduced. This book introduces something new into human consciousness. It is rare that a spiritual book goes into detail revealing the tricks the ego uses to avoid liberation. The Most Direct Means to Eternal Bliss is such a rare book. Step-by-step instructions in how to put an end to the ego's tricks are given in this book. This book shows how to directly experience infinite-eternal-awareness-love-bliss in this lifetime. This book contains a detailed description of the difference between the True Self and the imposter self. Detailed instructions in how to directly experience the True Self are given in this book.

Of the thousands of spiritual books you could purchase, The Most Direct Means to Eternal Bliss is the best first choice. This is the book that created a spiritual revolution that is continuing to transform all human life. The direct experience of infinite-eternal-life is available to all humans. There is a fork in the road. One road leads to ideas, beliefs, concepts and opinions. The other road leads to Direct Experience. This book shows the difference between these two roads and how to choose the road that leads to eternal-perfect-love-bliss in this lifetime.

This book is a new doorway for humanity. On a combination lock that you have been unable to open it is not the numbers on the dial that are new. It is the combination that opens the lock that is new. The more than fifteen hundred sentences in this book reveal the combination that opens the lock. On the other side of the door is eternal Life-Love-Bliss.

The Allies Briefings emphasize that we can understand the reality of Intervention from our own experience of colonization and conquest here on Earth. Our history has shown us the evidence of intervention from one culture upon another, from one nation upon another, repeatedly over time. The Aletheon 8406556 During the final three years of his life, Avatar Adi Da created this scripture moved by his indefatigable impulse to 'say everything' to everyone. His work on The Aletheon ended on the very day of his passing when he called for the title page of The Aletheon and finalized the wording on that page, thereby forever bringing to a close his final great writing-labor of love.
Adi Da had written many extraordinary and comprehensive books before The Aletheon . The early years of Avatar Adi Da's active Teaching-Work were an astounding demonstration of his willingness to submit himself to ordinary egos, and to work by reflecting egos to themselves and calling egos to true esoteric practice. What is unique about The Aletheon is that it was written after that time of submission to ordinary beings had been completed, when Avatar Adi Da was demonstrating the culminating phase of his outshining revelation. In writing The Aletheon , Avatar Adi Da had utterly relinquished his previous modes of self-submission and teaching, and expressed only his own purest communication of Truth.
In summary The Aletheon
* Penetrating consideration of true and false understandings of God, religion, and human existence altogether
* Adi Da's unique revelation of the Divinely Enlightened condition
* His confession of his own purpose and work
* A description of the practice he offers to all who are moved to become his devotees. The softcover edition of The Aletheon scriptural text is divided into seven Volume One opens with Avatar Adi Da's Self-Disclosing statements relative to who he is and what the purpose of his word is. He also presents his fundamental arguments relative to conventional religion versus the true esoteric process, the primacy of devotion, and the seven stages of life. Volume Two presents Avatar Adi Da's 'overview' statements about and definitions of the Reality-Way of Adidam including the essential essay Atma Nadi Shakti Yoga . Volume Three includes his more extended and detailed statements about the Reality-Way of Adidam including fundamental summary statements relative to devotion, right life, and 'Perfect Knowledge'. Volume Four includes two essential texts relating to the beginnings of the Transcendental Spiritual process; The Teaching Manual of Perfect Summaries and Hridaya Rosary . Volume Five is devoted entirely to essays on Perfect Philosophy . Volume Six contains many of Avatar Adi Da's most fundamental and ecstatic Communications about the 'Perfect Practice' of Adidam. Volume Seven is the concluding volume of The Aletheon scriptural text, with a completely astounding series of Self-Confessional Divine Statements by Avatar Adi Da including The Boundless Self-Confession , and a great many more. Over 2300 pages, The Aletheon is available in two a single-volume hardcover edition and an eight-volume softcover edition (including the volume of reference materials). The contents of the two editions are identical including the full text of The Aletheon , over one hundred photographs of Avatar Adi, a full biography, and extensive reference materials. Both editions come in a beautiful slipcase adorned with a stunning logo-image, created by Avatar Adi Da Samraj.]]>

<![CDATA[Inner Engineering: A Yogi's Guide to Joy]]> 29513878 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER Thought leader, visionary, philanthropist, mystic, and yogi Sadhguru presents Western readers with a time-tested path to achieving absolute the classical science of yoga.“A loving invitation to live our best lives and a profound reassurance of why and how we can.”—Sir Ken Robinson, author ofThe Element, Finding Your Element, andOut of Our Learning to Be CreativeNAMED ONE OF THE TEN BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY SPIRITUALITY & HEALTHThe practice of hatha yoga, as we commonly know it, is but one of eight branches of the body of knowledge that is yoga. In fact, yoga is a sophisticated system of self-empowerment that is capable of harnessing and activating inner energies in such a way that your body and mind function at their optimal capacity. It is a means to create inner situations exactly the way you want them, turning you into the architect of your own joy. A yogi lives life in this expansive state, and in this transformative book Sadhguru tells the story of his own awakening, from a boy with an unusual affinity for the natural world to a young daredevil who crossed the Indian continent on his motorcycle. He relates the moment of his enlightenment on a mountaintop in southern India, where time stood still and he emerged radically changed. Today, as the founder of Isha, an organization devoted to humanitarian causes, he lights the path for millions. The term guru, he notes, means “dispeller of darkness, someone who opens the door for you. . . . As a guru, I have no doctrine to teach, no philosophy to impart, no belief to propagate. And that is because the only solution for all the ills that plague humanity is self-transformation. Self-transformation means that nothing of the old remains. It is a dimensional shift in the way you perceive and experience life. The wisdom distilled in this accessible, profound, and engaging book offers readers time-tested tools that are fresh, alive, and radiantly new. Inner Engineering presents a revolutionary way of thinking about our agency and our humanity and the opportunity to achieve nothing less than a life of joy.]]> 278 Sadhguru 0812997808 Mahmmad 5 currently-reading 4.16 2016 Inner Engineering: A Yogi's Guide to Joy

<![CDATA[Your Immortal Reality: How to Break the Cycle of Birth and Death]]> 119763 Gary Renard and his Ascended Master Teachers, Arten and Pursah, teach you how to integrate advanced spiritual principles into your everyday life. Doing so leads beyond theory to an experience of the Divine and the undoing of the ego. Your progress will be accelerated to such a degree that, with continued practice, you can’t help but stop the need to reincarnate . . . once and for all.

Like Gary’s first book, The Disappearance of the Universe, this work elaborates on the teachings of two spiritual classics, The Gospel of Thomas and A Course in Miracles. By focusing on a unique brand of quantum forgiveness, rather than the old-fashioned kind, and taking the understanding of the importance of thought up to a whole new level, your goal will become nothing less than to break the cycle of birth and death.]]>

<![CDATA[The Ra Contact: Teaching the Law of One: Volume 1]]> 40190203
For thousands of years those of Ra have sought to teach the Law of One to seekers of truth on Earth who wished to learn of the unity or oneness of all things. This basic law of all creation is buried deep within each of our hearts because we really are one in love and in light, the building blocks of the universe. We are all manifestations of the One Infinite Creator. We are the Creator. We are not learning this law for the first time but are remembering it yet again as all mystics have taught throughout Earth’s history. Our journey of self-realization is the discovery or remembrance of this essential truth, our essential identity. A waking up, as some have called it, within an illusion of separation.

Don Elkins and Carla L. Rueckert worked together for 12 years to perfect the channeling process and receive philosophical inspiration and guidance from extraterrestrial sources. When Jim McCarty joined them in 1980 they began to receive a new and unique type of channeling contact from those of Ra. Through this contact, Ra shared information to help seekers of truth deepen their awareness and acceptance of self and other, and to help Earth move into the emerging fourth density of love and understanding.

This book is the transcript from the recording of that conversation between the Questioner and Ra. Through questions & answers, the metaphysical blueprint of spiritual evolution is explored, from the microcosm to the macrocosm, from the particulars of life on this planet to the life of the cosmos, to the possibilities of healing, transformation, and self-realization for spiritual seekers and wanderers.

<![CDATA[Nine Levels Of Increasing Embrace In Ego Development: A Full-Spectrum Theory Of Vertical Growth And Meaning Making]]> 37753284
What makes EDT unique and different from other theories in the field of constructivist developmental approaches is its focus on meaning making. EDT addresses the whole person. It is best understood as a framework that portrays the growth of individuals as moving into ever greater awareness and integration about both the inner and the outer world. Although EDT focuses on the development of individual awareness, it fully recognizes that there is no individual interior development outside a cultural and linguistic surround, nor is individual growth possible without the external context (historical, geographic, infrastructure, etc.) as it supports and constrains what is possible in the interior.

EDT has been developed and refined over at least 40 years by empirical means unlike almost all other developmental approaches 2 which first propose a theory, then find appropriate means to measure their constructs. EDT is a grounded theory. It was derived solely based on evidence from responses to the sentence completion test which we now call the MAP (Maturity Assessment Profile).]]>

<![CDATA[The Eye of the I: From Which Nothing Is Hidden]]> 23322 This correlation between science and spirituality represents a cohesive integration between the linear and the nonlinear dimensions. By "transcending the opposites", the author resolves the ages-old, seemingly irresolvable conflict and impasse between science and religion, between materiality and spirituality, and between ego and spirit. This resolution then clarifies unresolved mysteries and dilemmas which have been with mankind throughout history. With the expansion of consciousness afforded by this work, questions answer themselves and truth becomes self-evident.
The style of presentation takes the reader back and forth from the linear to the nonlinear domains until, to one's surprise, the incomprehensible becomes not only comprehensible but actually obvious.
The calibrated level of consciousness of those who have been exposed to this material has been experimentally documented and has shown considerable elevation and advancement. Power accomplishes without effort what force cannot do for it goes where force cannot follow.
This book is written for both the self and the Self of the reader. Although the traditional great obstacle to enlightenment called "transcending the opposites of duality and nonduality" may sound obscure, by the time one has finished the book, this critical awareness is self-resolving.]]>

<![CDATA[Integral Meditation: Mindfulness as a Way to Grow Up, Wake Up, and Show Up in Your Life]]> 25241901 A radical approach to mindfulness—combining an ancient meditation technique with leading-edge theory, resulting in a powerful new method of self-transformation.

With practical teachings and detailed instructions, Ken Wilber introduces Integral Mindfulness, a new way of practicing the widely popular meditation. Integral Mindfulness applies many of the leading-edge insights of Ken Wilber's Integral Theory--the first system to combine Eastern teachings on the five stages of awakening with the eight major Western models of human development, thus portraying the complete path of human evolution. In addition to all the benefits to body, mind, and spirit that standard mindfulness meditation confers, practicing Integral Mindfulness promises a more powerful approach to personal transformation and brings within reach the fullest experience of Enlightenment possible.

Beginning with as little as fifteen to thirty minutes of daily sessions, the meditator can gradually expand from there by slowly and easily adding significant aspects of the practice. Meditation instructions and step-by-step guided contemplations are given in detail. Readers learn how to create a graph to track progress and discover natural strengths and potentials. The book also offers recommended readings and resources to facilitate further study.]]>
