The way in which this story is told makes it one of the freshest reads I've had in a while. It's been at least 6 months since I've read it, but I feel like I was in that room just last week. If you enjoy creative storytelling, don't miss this.

This is so much more than a book about a bar. It's about becoming a man, taking responsibility for your life and yes, an amazing bar that was both a sanctuary and a pitfall for the author. It's non-fiction but written very much like a novel. I found it in a used bookstore, had never heard of the author and couldn't put it down. Love at first read.
