Time to start reading and discussing The Last Command, the final entry in the Thrawn trilogy and our topic for episode 5!

I'm very interested to be reminded about the events that lead up to the epic finale of this series!

Just getting into the first few chapters. Thus far, enjoying it. It's so odd, I thought the memories would all come flooding back but I really feel like I'm reading this one for the first time even though I'm certain I've read it at least 3 times over the years.

Bill (billt721) | 1 comments I started re-reading SW books a few years ago, and the Thrawn series was basically the first thing that I did. So, while I'm not reading these along with you guys, I'll be joining in on future books that I haven't read in recent years.

Anyway -- like you guys mentioned on the podcast, I had few memories of the specifics of this book. I remembered how it ended, and a few of the plot-points along the way, but not remembering most of the book made it a lot more enjoyable to read than Heir to the Empire, which I had much stronger memories of.

This book contains possibly my favorite action-y sequence of the entire trilogy: the Imperial Intelligence attack at the Imperial Palace. Even when re-reading it, with the memories of what would end up happening coming back to me, I still couldn't put the book down until that section of the book was finished. The only other contender would be the Karrde rescue from the last book.
