Has anyone else read this book by Bobbie Ann Mason? She is a very highly thought of author, but I've found her books - both this one and a much more recent one, 'Dear Ann', not as enjoyable as I thought they would be. Does anyone else have an opinion to share on her writing? What am I missing about her books?
My review of 'The Girl in the Blue Beret' The history this book is based on is interesting, but the story meandered too much in the telling. Overall, the plot and the writing lacked sufficient energy and purpose to involve me.
