Cheryl (cherylllr) We have three folders (pasted below) that seem awfully similar to me. I was trying to move this thread: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/7... and wasn't sure where to put it.
How do you differentiate?

POSSIBLY SOLVED
Query Abandoned by Poster
Now We'll Never Know

message 2: by rivka (new)

rivka Possibly Solved: OP (Original Poster) has responded to one or more suggestions and said that it might be the right book

Query Abandoned by Poster: OP has not responded to suggestions for a long time. (I don't recall what the usual time frame is.)

Now We'll Never Know: Like the second case, except the OP has left GR, and/or has deleted the original post.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Ah, ok, that is indeed clear; I see that they're not redundant at all. Thanks!

message 5: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Right, I even participated in that thread - but I was still fuzzy about them all. Your summary in msg 2 is perfect.

rivka :)

Abigail (handmaiden) | 391 comments I wonder if it would be helpful for other members of the group, especially new members, if these folders had their descriptions stickied to them?

(I think it's called "stickied"? That thing mods can do to make a certain topic stay at the top of its folder and it has an asterisk by it.)

That's what I've always called it. Much more mellifluous than "marked as important". ;)

OK, I'm going to try to create a descriptive post that will stay at the top of the folder. If unsuccessful, we'll call in the big guns.

And I think I was successful. Thanks to Rivka for the wording for these posts. You explained them so succinctly!

message 10: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Looks perfect, Kate, thanks!
I just did one more thing - I moved this moderator talk folder to the bottom, to put those three related folders together with each other.

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 1396 comments Great questions, and great work, everyone. Kate, The 3 descriptive "stickied" posts are very helpful.

message 12: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Well now we have a new challenge, I think. I can't see leaving this query http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/6... in Unsolved, because it's unsolvable, not being a book. But I don't see it fitting anywhere else, either...

... unless we move it to Just to Chat?

message 13: by Abigail (new)

Abigail (handmaiden) | 391 comments Maybe you could ask the OP to clarify whether she remembered for sure that it is a cartoon, since she seems to be replying to her query thread?

And good job Kate and Cheryl on making the different folders easier to navigate!

The closest I can think of is the Other Solved folder, since it is definitely other. If it is Word Girl and the Butcher, then it is solved.

I'll ask Alice if this meets her approval.
