The Malabari Who Loved His Ferrari by Dileep Kumar Adiyattu Valappil
"Truthful, direct and inspiring... these are some of the expressions that come to your mind when you complete reading this excellent memoir by Dileep Heilbronn.
It is about struggles, determination, grit, and rootedness of the protagonist, the author or the aspiring young man who comes to Dubai in 1991 with no money in his pocket and big dreams in his heart.
The author has not held back any detail, even from his personal life. You will learn a lot by reading this book. And, though you can pick yours, the best lesson that you may like is that you have to stay grounded even after you achieve the highest of your dreams. "

Maya, Dead and Dreaming by Lana Sabarwal
"Well, let me be very honest: no review can be completed without mentioning the eerie and disturbing letter that sets things rolling. Its arrival pushes Munna’s quiet life into distress, forcing her to confront Shogie’s darkest secret. Sabarwal creates exquisite tension through Munna’s terrifying dreams where Maya appears as a vengeful spectre. What makes this mystery special is how it explores the weight of truth versus the comfort of lies. The Hickman family’s carefully maintained facade crumbles spectacularly in the final act, revealing shocking truths about that fateful night by the creek. Karenina’s deductive brilliance makes her one of the most compelling detectives I’ve encountered in years."

The Malabari Who Loved His Ferrari by Dileep Kumar Adiyattu Valappil
"Who knew a chapter on pencil collecting could be so profound? That's also in the memoir of a successful construction company’s founder and chairperson? Heilbronn’s obsession with Japanese graphite (“darkest and smoothest) mirrors his life approach: precision matters. His anecdote about golf courses handing out native pencils to scorekeepers reveals how he finds poetry in mundane objects. A refreshing take on success, measured not just in Ferraris but in fragments of mindful curiosity."

As a few readers have pointed out, the title is indeed appealing, and it arrests one's attention almost instantly. A spin-off, a parody or whatever you may say... but we certainly remember someone who sold his Ferrari. Dileep, here, has loved his Ferrari and still owns it with pride. And you may say, this is what the life philosophy of the author has been for decades. Right from the phase when he migrated to Dubai with no money, to the point when he became the founding chairman of a giant LLC, Heilbronn construction company in Dubai, Dileep has loved the possessions that he earned after hard work, determination and sweat.
However, then comes the concept of semi-retirement that adds human perspective to this memoir and story of Dileep. Wealth is not everything, after all!
A book with many messages that will certainly help readers understand life from various perspectives of a person who has achieved almost everything in life and is yet curious. ]]>

The Malabari Who Loved His Ferrari by Dileep Kumar Adiyattu Valappil
"This book isn’t just about building a business; it’s about building a life. Dileep’s journey, marked by 3 a.m. doubts, marital stumbles, and hard-won Ferraris, offers a refreshing antidote to toxic hustle culture. I liked the way the author expresses gratitude and affection for every minute thing in his life. His appreciation of mentors and Dubai’s leaders underscores the importance of community support in any individual’s success story. Young dreamers will appreciate his message: ambition need not erase empathy, and wealth is hollow without purpose.
If you have time and you like reading life stories, do give this book a try. "

Maya, Dead and Dreaming is a hauntingly beautiful and well-crafted mystery. The anonymous letter sets off a chain reaction of revelations, each more devastating than the last. Readers get shocks and surprises one after another and never stop getting them until the final act. Lana Sabarwal’s prose is evocative, her characters unforgettable. A standout novel. It should be best read and interpreted on one's own without revealing too much about this nice murder mystery and sponging one's enjoyment! ]]>
