Been a lover of Mr. Wendell Berry's poems and essays for awhile, this was my first venture into his fiction. That way he paints Port William, Kentucky makes it feel familiar, like you've strolled its Main Street, seen its fields and stood next to the river, it comes alive. A staggeringly human story through spring and summer, war and peace. Gonna buy a Wendell Berry hat asap. ]]>

What We Talk About When We Talk About Love by Raymond Carver
"I <3 realism that feels like surrealism. Carver’s sparse prose creates a sense of ambiguity, blurring the lines between the ordinary and the strange. By leaving much unsaid, his minimalist approach invites readers to search for meaning in the silences, deepening the stories surreal and often heartbreaking quality."

Simple Passion by Annie Ernaux
"A masterclass in surrender/control (how different are they, really?)—to/over language, memory, and confession itself. From the first page, Ernaux makes it clear she’s in charge this time—delivering a precise telling of desire and self-deception. It’s a stunning, brutally honest meditation on passion, loss, and the luxury of it all. Wowza."
