I went in knowing nothing about this book and I came out of it loving it so much.
This was genuinely so good, I don’t know why I took so long to read it.

A mafia fantasy is the best way to describe this book. Its setting is urban, in an island called Kekon. The island is home to a magical jade that imbues its users, the Greenbone, with enhanced magical abilities across six disciplines ( Strength, Steel, Perception, Lightness, Deflection and Channeling). We follow two rival Greenbone clans as they vie for more power.

I enjoyed how the story is told mostly from the POV of the Kaul’s siblings. It was easy to keep track of everything happening as the story progressed. I quickly got attached to the characters and I was on the edge of my seat throughout the book.

The fantasy elements in this book were not the main focus, which I didn’t might because the political intrigue too centre stage and this made the story more complex.

There was a lot of action and fighting scenes that were very descriptive, it felt like I was watching a movie. The twists in this book?! The plot kept thickening and the ending makes me excited to read Jade War."
