This book is fantastic!!! I got the advanced copy via the VIP box (great quality shirts, by the way) and am currently listening to the audiobook with my kids. They love listening to the stories about Emerson and his Heroic chess journey toward becoming a grandmaster. I think the boys enjoy hearing the lessons via a story with someone that's close to their age.

I like picking this book up and reading a section or two at night. It's not heavy reading, and we get suitable micro lessons as reminders. Plus, it helps with family reading together, and if we want our kids to read, we should read with them. Being an exemplar like the books says.

This book is an excellent introduction to the Heroic world and Arete lifestyle. We are all on our Heroic journey, whether we consciously know it or not. It's good to find a community of people who support us along the way, and this book helps us get a good idea of what this community is about.

It's always easier to do things together. We can change our behavior if we hang out with people who help raise our standards or support us when we inevitably fall short of our aspirations and goals.

Dive in and move from theory to practice to mastery of the meaning of Arete and showing up daily or even moment by moment to being the best version of ourselves on a consistent and conscious basis.

It's possible and not just a cliche. We can operationalize this in a very concrete and scientific way. The book gives us some great big ideas for you and your kids. But knowledge alone doesn't cut it. We learn by doing and doing daily.

We're never exonerated from doing the work.
