bookshelves: fantasy, romance, spicy, favorites
How good is this book? I read it on one sitting, at the middle of the night, knowing I had an early morning the next day.

Bride is very generic of the fantasy-romance trope. That being said, I think it was written extremely well. Among the the clich辿 themes like arranged marriage and vampire/werewolf lore the book was full of original and interesting themes.

I am glad to see a main character with purpose, not just as an accessory to display the male leads dominance. Trough out the book Misery displays emotion, drive and purpose. Hazelwood gave Misery depth, spice and most importantly a backbone. I love how she wasn't a wet pasta, being dragged across the story.

Lowe at times annoyed me, then at times melted my heart. Naturally Lowe wasn't straight forward or honest immediately, for the sake of the story. Many of the twist and turs would cease if the couple communicated truthfully. Yet I didn't feel like the story was strung up, more like there were a lot of complicated factors at play.

Lowe's and Misery's relationship kept me on my toes. Every interaction was exiting and I could not wait to see what would happen. I do not have words to explain how much I enjoyed these parts. Of course the smut was great, well thought out and most importantly fit for the characters species.

Overall I loved this book! From start to finish I was hooked. I recommend this to anyone who likes their romance with fantasy and drama.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
"6皚鏝! This book ruined and made me at the same time. It was as twisted and crazy as everyone has said it would be. I dont usually read books like this, I usually read fantasy books or sweet romances and this was definitely not a sweet romance. What it WAS, was my first Taylor Jenkins Reid book and I am definitely going to be getting more. It was insane, magical and probably will haunt me for a while. It had crazy plot twists, some of which I even saw coming but shocked me to death all the same. I think I love and hate Evelyn Hugo at the same time, she was incredible, sneaky, crazy and, of course, beautiful. She was unapologetic and somehow had dignity even after she lost everything. I felt her magnetism THROUGH the book, and I feel drawn to her character. The plot twist at the end had me literally screaming into my pillow and pulling my hair. This entire book had such an incredible presence and purpose that I dont think ANYONE could resist. This book showed the power women have, and how that power can also be their ruination. I will probably cherish this book forever. Its safe to say, Taylor Jenkins Reid definitely made an impression!"
