The Younger Woman by Cate Ray
&±ç³Ü´Ç³Ù;3.5💫

**A Captivating Dual POV Journey**—In *The Younger Woman*, we dive deep into the tumultuous lives of Gabby, trapped in a heartbreaking marriage with her unfaithful husband, and a mysterious younger woman who seems to have an agenda of her own. The premise is certainly intriguing, and while the narrative unfolds like a slow-burning candle, I found myself craving a bit more excitement in the earlier chapters to keep the momentum alive.

**A Thrilling Twist of an Ending**! Just when you think you’ve unravelled the complexities, the final act delivers a whirlwind of surprises. The last hour and a half was a rollercoaster ride of revelations, but it felt a bit rushed, leaving me wanting more clarity on some of the shocking twists. While the conclusion ties things up neatly, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of confusion as I attempted to piece together the intricate puzzle that had been crafted.

If you're ready for a compelling domestic thriller that dives into themes of betrayal and empowerment, then you need to give this book a read. "

The Younger Woman by Cate Ray
"The Younger Woman is written by Cate Ray. I was fortunate enough to listen to the audiobook of this story and I enjoyed it. Gabby and Fred are becoming empty nesters. Gabby is also find out out that she does not think she likes her husband very much. After they drop their daughter off at college, Gabby meets up with a friend at a bar. She has a little too much to drink, which the truth comes spilling out. She says words that a strangers has heard " I wish my husband were dead". Then the elusive stranger is no where to be found.

Gabby finds out that her husband has been cheating on her for years. Now she wonders if it was with the elusive stranger. Secrets start to come unraveled. I enjoyed this slow burn domestic thriller.

This has a dual pov, but the author has woven it together seamlessly.. The narrator did a phenomenal job with her voice.

This was a new to me author will defiantly be keeping an eye on any upcoming work

Thank you to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read a copy of this book - all thoughts are my own. "

The Younger Woman by Cate Ray
"Good, not scary thriller/mystery rounded up from 3.5 stars bc of the clever clues the author sprinkled throughout that still had me guessing until close to the end. "

The Younger Woman by Cate Ray
"I bought this book on a limb. I then looked at reviews and it seemed to do poorly. So I was hesitant to read it, but I really liked this book lol. It’s not as crazy and twisted as others but it still made my heart hurt. "

Review7075865618 Wed, 11 Dec 2024 00:49:10 -0800 <![CDATA[Cate added 'Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West']]> /review/show/7075865618 Wicked by Gregory Maguire Cate has read Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (The Wicked Years, #1) by Gregory Maguire
I went into this book blind as I haven't seen the musical, and as a lifelong Wizard of Oz fan (movie & book) it was an obvious choice. But now that I've finished reading it, I honestly don't know what I thought of it! I don't know whether I loved the political agenda or hated it; I don't know whether the author was clever, writing elaborate sentences that landed somewhere above me, or whether they were so poorly written that they were nonsensical. I didn't understand the relationship between the wicked witch and the good witch, as the latter barely featured in the book, especially towards the end. And whilst I thought it was an insanely good premise, giving us the back story of the wicked witch, towards the end I found myself caring less about her and then when I turned the final page, I felt numb. Reading the reviews, it seems that most people fall into the hate or love category, but I'm going to straddle both and will remain there for a long time until I figure out which way to leap. In the meantime, I don't even know whether to put the book on my shelf or pass it on. And that's a first for me! Good luck if you read this book and I hope you are more decisive than me... ]]>

Thanks for this fabulous review Miranda & for calling the book 'tantalizing'! An underused word in my humble opinion. Thanks again! ]]>
