I have read this wonderful short story which was written by one of my long term students of English. It’s about a monk who lives amid animals in a far off mountain over ten generations ago. My sister gave me this tattered and fly leafed book while I was in hospital and I’ve never forgotten the incredible story. The central theme revolves around the power of enduring love. The story follows the journey of two individuals who first crossed paths in their youth, only to be torn apart due to the societal barriers of their respective social classes. However, as time passes and numerous obstacles stand in their way, their unwavering affection for one another leads them back into each other's arms. Through their remarkable journey explores the resilience of love and the unbreakable bond that transcends all challenges. There was a film made of this book around 2011 or 12 and got box office sellouts.
