The Perfect Divorce was such a wild ride! I loved the multiple POVs—Sarah, Bob, Sheriff Hudson, and the mystery woman all brought something unique to the story. It kept the tension high and the pacing super quick.

Sarah is seriously giving Love Quinn energy—completely unhinged but SO smart and honestly kind of iconic?? Her taste in men is tragic (why do they all cheat on her 😩), but she stays five steps ahead the whole time. Psycho genius behavior and I was here for it.

Bob was SO annoying. The victim complex?? When he was the one who cheated?? I get that he wanted to fix things, but he had no empathy for Sarah at all, and it really showed.

I liked seeing a different side of Sheriff Hudson too. You can tell he actually wants to do good, and that added a thoughtful touch to all the chaos.

The plot was just as suspenseful as the first book. I did see the twist coming, but it still felt satisfying when everything came together. The mystery woman’s chapters were tense and creepy in the best way—total page-turners.

Definitely recommend if you’re into thrillers that lean into the messy, dramatic, and morally twisted. ]]>

This book was unhinged—and I absolutely loved it.

Malachi Vize is feral, obsessive, and silent until he isn’t. The mute aspect added such a fascinating layer to his character, and watching him learn to speak just for her? I was obsessed right back. He’s dark, intense, and the exact kind of morally grey that makes you question your own sanity for loving him.

The plot? Literally insane, in the best way possible. And the audiobook? A whole experience. Joe Arden was Malachi—he nailed the eerie, possessive energy so well, I don’t think I’ll ever be the same.

Olivia’s parents were the actual worst. Her mom tried to hand her off to awful men like it was no big deal, and her dad was just strange. Not in a quirky way. Just weird.

I really liked the time jump—it added some breathing room and emotion—but part of me wishes we got more of Malachi stalking her or showing how much the separation wrecked him. Still, what we got was intense enough to leave a mark.

Also, Itsy Bitsy Spider? Officially ruined. Thanks for that.

And yes, we got a happy ending (!!), which I desperately needed by the end. But let’s be real: if this was a real-life situation I’d absolutely be calling the cops 😅 ]]>

This book had me completely hooked from the start, even if it drove me a little crazy along the way.

The back-and-forth between past and present was one of my favorite parts. It kept the tension high and added depth to the mystery. And the twists? So good. I didn’t see a single one coming. Every time I thought I had things figured out, the story pulled the rug out from under me. The last few chapters especially had me completely shocked—multiple plot twists in a row. I couldn’t stop reading.

But let’s talk about Brooke. I genuinely couldn’t tell if she was supposed to be this trusting or if it was just bad judgment, but either way—it drove me nuts. After everything she’s been through, why would she keep putting herself in these situations?? It got to the point where her choices were both frustrating and kind of funny.

As for the men in this book I didn’t like either of them. Shane felt way too fake—his over-the-top niceness after so much “betrayal didn’t feel believable. Tim seemed better at first, but then he started acting shady and secretive, and I didn’t know what to make of him either. Neither one gave me a reason to fully trust them, and that definitely added to the tension (but also made the relationships feel off).

And that ending? What. The. Hell. I still don’t know how to feel about it—but it definitely surprised me.

Overall, this book was twisty, fast-paced, and impossible to put down. The plot had me hooked, even if the characters made me want to scream. Moral of the story? Don’t trust anyone. Seriously. ]]>

Overall, the story was cute and had its sweet, nostalgic moments, but it wasn’t anything life-changing. It’s the kind of book you can breeze through in a day, but it doesn’t leave much to think about afterward.

Belly, as the main character, was hard to connect with. She complained often, acted immaturely, and didn’t handle tough situations well—she came across more like a child than someone coming of age. Her growth felt limited, and it made it tough to root for her.

Conrad had the potential to be a compelling character. We’re told he’s cold and distant because of what he’s going through, but it all felt too surface-level. I wish we had seen more of his inner world to understand him better. Jeremiah didn’t leave much of an impression on me—he felt like more of a background character than someone truly important to the story.

Cam Cameron was easily the most likable and unproblematic character. His presence was refreshing and brought some balance to the drama.

One thing that stood out in a weird way was Susannah’s pressure on Belly to end up with one of her sons. It felt unnecessary and uncomfortable, especially considering how young Belly is.

Again, while the book is a light and easy read perfect for summer, it didn’t leave a deep impact. ]]>

3.5 Stars!

Unfortunately, this one just didn’t land the way I hoped it would. The setup had so much potential—especially with the “marriage of convenience trope—but the story never really took off. I felt disconnected from the characters and the romance, which made it hard to stay engaged.

Lark was the most compelling part of the book. She had real depth, and I appreciated the insight into her trauma and how it shaped her. But Lachlan, despite trying to give off bad-boy energy, felt more like a golden retriever—and not in a charming way. His character lacked development, and we barely got a glimpse into who he really was or why he acted the way he did.

The romance itself was underwhelming. I couldn’t pinpoint when or how they fell in love—it seemed to happen off-page, with only a few internal monologues and surface-level interactions leading up to it. For a dark rom-com, this also felt surprisingly light. There wasn’t much actual darkness (very little gore or tension), and the humor was practically nonexistent.

The villain was obvious, and that part of the plot felt rushed and underdeveloped. While there were glimpses of what this book could have been, it ultimately left me feeling underwhelmed and wanting more. ]]>
