This started out so good. I loved the cosmic horror vibes and the tongue-in-cheek of the narrative. But it all ended up very underwhelming.

When you have 12 chapters left, but your kindle says you are 70% through the book, you know the ending is going to be rushed. And boy was it.

I know this is a duology, but the ending was really unsatisfying. And there was still so much filler in the last couple of chapters I had to wonder how much of a story was actually there to begin with. Some great scenes throughout, and the gore level was pretty high. But it was missing something. I never really felt that anyone's lives were in danger despite everything. And the relationship between Julie and Sarah took too much of the spotlight.

Oh, and I think they caught the train once in the book.
