The Kings of Kearny by Navessa Allen
"I was looking for a new MC book and I thought I'd give this one a try. I enjoyed a lot of aspects about this story. I specifically liked that both Krista and Jakob were ex-military and I love a good baddie heroine! Also, grandma's in books are my favorite and Krista's Gran was the best.

There was a bit of a twist I didn't see coming which was also good. But that ending was so stinking rushed, I felt wanted so much more out of the last 20%. Overall, I would try this author again because I liked this one more than I didn't! "

Smoke Bomb by Abbi Glines
"I thought, for sure, after reading Maddy and Blaise's story Smokeshow and Fireball, with the whole Southern Mafia thing, that I would not be very interested in reading the whole of the series, especially not this hero's story.
I lied to myself.

Huck? The name itself threw me off and his intro in the previous books wasn't that great. However, he grew on me. Big blond Viking, 2nd-in-command, gruff, made Southern mafia man. He was as salaciously promiscuous as all the others in Blaise's immediate brotherhood circle, as it was introduced, and though his family is connected, they all are removed from the mafia, leaving Huck as the only one who embraces "the life."

It turns out family is what gets Huck on a one way track to the woman he'll become obsessed with: his religiously devout baby brother's fiancee, Trinity (the name! IKR).

Trinity has lived a really bad childhood and adolescence under an absent father, even though he was there, but sickly, leaving Trinity vulnerable and at the mercy of her stepmother's ire, zealous religious punishments, and obviously vicious resentment.

Getting engaged to Huck's brother so young had offered Trinity reprieve, along with Trinity racing out of her childhood home as soon as she hit legal age. But Trinity does not leave unscathed, as her stepmother made sure to build Trinity a reputation as a delinquent and a jezebel, two labels that Huck learns about and wonders why his do-gooder, faithful brother fell for Trinity's charms.

Huck's brother dies and Trinity, who does not give Huck a great impression at the funeral (even though her face and body calls to him), gets herself in a situation that has Huck taking her and sequestering her in his house, under his watch, until he figures out just who Trinity really is. And of course, Huck is a ticking bomb because he develops a growing need to possess Trinity in many ways.
Boys of Brayshaw High (Brayshaw, #1) by Meagan Brandy | Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ
Huck and Trinity's coming together is hot, accompanied by Glines' usual combinations: alpha-hole + virgin; dirty-talk + OTT hero possessiveness. Though these books have many repeats and sometimes low on depth-- but more smut (New Adult style), the mix of Southern Mafia families, with generations of power, hierarchy, and tradition (though the world described is semi-vague on the extremities and intricate conflicts of the empire ) will get a reader hooked; and the mafia heroes who are ruthless but goners for their women all offer a quick heady "take-me-away" read, when I'm in the mood. Plus I am a Glines' fan, from her Seabreeze Series.

Extra Note: Huck Kingston is one of several ultimate examples of "touch her and die" among the stories of this series. His revenge is chilling.

There are 4 series of this world: Smoke series (original); Georgia Smoke series (which I feels goes a little darker or the some of the heroes are a bit more unhinged); Mississippi Smoke series ; and the Judgment MC series."

Did not love the book. Mostly because I thought the dialog was juvenile and unrealistic and I did not like the FMC’s total obsession with having a child. But then the ending. Oh HELL NO! Sorry. But this was such a shitty way to end the book. ]]>
