Ghosts of a Holy War by Yardena Schwartz
"The book began as many historical essays began and deployed the long and complex road of memories, facts, intimate close ups and larger view of a long period.
The end is heartbreaking. I was unable to read the words of the massacre committed that awful October 7, I can’t read nor see, nor hear, but the images are there , the violence known, the laughs and hatred recognised.
The author as any good historian is walking us from
1929 to our contemporary time with intelligence and precision. She is able to acknowledge the wrongs done, the awful political agendas followed.
But there is one thing there, one dreadful warning that the ideology, lies, falsification at large in Islamic states about Israel long past and connection to Judee/Palestine, is now spreading in the western world by students and teachers whose antisemitism is not even barely contained now.
We have to keep History and facts alive to stop the nonsense and we need to remember that there is no hope where there is no freedom for children and women to exist and thrive. "

Voyage of the Mourning Dawn by Rich Wulf
"Mildly entertaining, but little substance

I was looking for a book in the Eberron world as the new D&D 5e Eberron campaign setting was launched. I had read some forums saying that this series was the most entertaining of the Eberron books. This book was mildly entertaining, but lacked substance. The character development of Seren and Omax was ok, but the rest of the characters got very little development which made it difficult to care for the characters. There was an ok amount of action, but a lot of the book is building for little payoff. I was hoping for something like the first Dragonlance or the first Icewind Dale, but it was not even close. It was a quick read, but ultimately not a satisfying one. I may go back at some point and finish the trilogy as it was not horrible, but I feel like there are much better books to read right now. "

Voyage of the Mourning Dawn by Rich Wulf
"It is not an amazing fantasy book, but it is a really good D&D book, full of cliches and ideas typical on a campaign, if you are looking for inspiration/ideas for a campaign in Eberron, this one(trilogy) is totally worth it"
