All I can say is this book gives me a new respect for the island of Nantucket, the whaling business, and I hope to visit one day. This is very well written book of the struggles to survive under the strictest conditions. Nothing goes right for them, at any time. Their one reprieve, on Henderson island, they end up having to leave 3 people. It’s crazy. In my opinion, it’s karmas payback for their pillage and desecration of nature, especially after the ruining of one of the Galapagos via land fire. Overall, a wonderful book, story, and timepiece.
