I had lost touch of reading daily, a habit I built three years ago, and this book I picked up intentionally to rebuild the habit, so that I can keep coming to read this thrilling and suspicious story. I thank authors for making books such that the readers get addicted to the story and want to know more each day at bedtime. The only different thing that happened in rebuilding my habit of reading daily is now I read when I go to sleep at night; earlier I used to read when I start my day in the morning. No point in debating which is better. I had to start reading again. People have different opinions, some say night is good, some insist morning is good. Comment in the section if you have any such preference. However, this story will make you ponder if it is good to live like a monster or die like a good man (a line from Shutter Island movie). I mean I could not have figured out who the killer is in thousands of lives. However, I feel justice is served. It is served painfully though. Both can be a little kinder. Sometimes I think forgiveness is the key to peaceful life, and sometimes I wonder what if I do something like cheating on my wife, wouldn't I want to be more conscious about my consequences of cheating, so that it scares the shit out of me even at the first place of thinking of cheating. As I said, it will make you ponder to believe that dying as a good man is far better than to live as a monster. To all the people out there, when promises are broken, when vows are forgotten. There should be big consequences. But also there should be forgiveness. I don't know I am confused again. If justice was harsh or not. ]]>

I had to study this as this was a requirement in my MBA program. I can't say I regret that. I mean this taught me how to communicate for results. There are resons why TED speakers really inspire, motivates, and lead the listeners. They present differently. They talk differently. Ethos, Pathos,Logos are something that I heard first time in my life from this book. You need to first built you credibility before presenting any information. Then appeal through emotion. Each individual reacts to emotional appeal, we just need to know what emotion we need to use at any given moment. Then only you use Logos/Logic in explaining the information.

Anyone who wants to communicate better, must read this book. This is not only for TED Talk, but also for communication for result. ]]>
