Feels like Fifty Shades meets the royal family a bit...but not quite as spicy. I enjoyed the story, but felt like we very quickly moved from a flirtation to something more. This is one of those books where you kind of have an idea what's going to happen, but then it does and you're shocked. I loved returning to the Easts and Harpers and seeing Danny, who we've come to know and love over these past books, find happiness. Things are not great for him when things start so I was excited. But of course, things can't be easy and when his high school crush returns, it's with an abusive ex hot on her tail. This was quick and fun, and boy did it pack a punch! Between a long time crush finally moving into reality and the very real life instances that our characters were facing, Phillips and Wilde created quie a story. I felt for Stevie as she navigated it all, between taking care of her sister and trying to put herself through school...not to mention dealing with Caleb's baggage...she had a lot on her plate. And Caleb was also in a tough spot trying to explore things with Stevie and being pushed to go further faster than anticipated. When Doc is confronted by the woman who broke his heart, his world turns on its axis ... and the same is true for her. But neither of them have any clue that the truth of what happened all those years ago is going to help bring them together.

There are plenty of twists and turns along the way...moments that break your heart in two and then put it back together again...moments that make you see red you're so angry and moments that have you shedding tears of joy. I also feel like I thought the story was going in one direction, but it was a misdirect! You have to love it.
